  1. Anything by MikeyD is a must-have, and Limey's new camouflaged Panzer IIIs are pretty cool, too. Some might say that my stuff is pretty darn good, too, but I'm modest so I won't.
  2. It's not really about the models, is it? It's art that happens to use models and toy soldiers and stuff. Edited to add: Hi Mom! [ January 27, 2004, 05:52 PM: Message edited by: AndrewTF ]
  3. No offense taken . I was just unclear on what you meant. Still not sure I follow you on the helmet mods, though--I thought you were referring to the German helmets in the mod I posted.
  4. Here's some snow for you, (or maybe it's parmesan cheese ) Riva Ridge, in the Northern Appenines, where the American 10th Mountain Division engaged in some bitter fighting with the Germans in February, 1945. Lots of good scenario fodder, I would think. On this note, what I think would be really useful is a patchy "light snow" terrain mod, not unlike that created by Thomas Klimisch in his amazing Battle of the Bulge mod for CMBO.
  5. Winter mods... never gonna happen, I tell you!
  6. Which helmet mods? And I've been quite successful in modding the CMAK trousers, so I'm not sure I follow you here. I have more or less patterned my mods after the CMAK originals, so they do look like the originals. But they're not.
  7. The default graphics are pretty good. It's just that once I make one uniform mod, I feel the need to have all the others in the same sort of style... Fortunately, I can produce them rather quickly. And there are a lot fewer BMPs to deal with than with the vehicle mods, which really take some time to do.
  8. At least you didn't ask which grass mod I was using...
  9. for Waffen-SS mechanized units. Available at the CM Mod Database, of course. They're basically a copy of the originals, in intent, at least, and feature the usual plethora of new stuff. I decided to have them wear the Autumn sides of their smocks as it probably goes better with the Italian landscape. Mid-war Late-war And, before anyone asks, and I know someone will, let it be known that I tried--struggled, even--to get a proper decal on the helmet but was unsuccessful due to the distortion.
  10. Mid- and late-war battledress uniforms for British, New Zealand, Polish, and South African uniforms. Ready to download now from the CM Mod Database! Polish HQ British squad Lots of new details blah blah blah. Just go download them and check them out in game.
  11. Australians have been updated and mod set re-uploaded. Photographic proof:
  12. Yes. The W-SS crews throughout CMBB wear the same side-cap as the early-war Heer crews. I made an alternate cap that was included in my W-SS vehicle crew mod set, which I don't think I re-uploaded to CMMods.com. Of course if you use that you'll have your early Heer crews wearing a W-SS cap, but at least you'll have a choice.
  13. Mortar tubes are not hard-coded. This was fixed in a CMBB patch so I have no reason to believe it's not in CMAK. I actually made a mortar tube mod for CMBB, but it was never seen by anyone but me because it looked a little funny. I have some ideas about how to improve it, so it may see the light of day eventually. The Panzerschrecks, bazookas, and PIATs are hard-coded, so no luck there.
  14. Yep... it was a nasty bugger called "Popeytis" that was spread by Tse-tse flies.... </font>
  15. Exactly! I'm probably going to use the 3rd Carpathian sleeve patch, so something from a unit therein would be appropriate. But the more generic the better.
  16. Now that I'm home and can check things, I see what the problem is--I apparently saved the coy HQ body bmp with the platoon hq number. Nothing saying the SA platoon hqs can't be wearing the bush jacket, but then the rank pips are incorrect, so I'll fix it tonight. Maybe even add the major's crowns as requested.
  17. The Aussie uniforms are merely British uniforms with different arms, so they share the same uniform and headgear BMPs as the rest of the Commonwealth troops. I found a picture of the triangular badge on an Australian militaria website--I forget which one--and decided to use it just to be different. This badge appeared to have a white border as opposed to the gray one in the photos posted above. I'm perfectly willing to change it if I've made some sort of gross misinterpretation of the badge. I want it to be as historically accurate as possible.
  18. Bump! In case anybody missed this one.
  19. Can anyone point me to or provide me with images of Polish regimental collar patches as worn on the battledress blouse in the MTO? I'm trying not to make my upcoming mod be just a copy of the BFC originals, so I'd like to do something different. I already have a 3rd Carpathian Rifles sleeve badge. I have seen a few photos wear officers wear no collar insignia at all, so in the worst case scenario I'll just leave them off altogether.
  20. Responses: I thought the Australian patch looked ok, but I suppose it could be toned down. As I've stated before, if someone wants to do a weathered version of my uniform mods then go ahead. Adding major's crowns should be easy enough. If I have to make any revisions then I may add them. I didn't notice a problem with the SA troops when I tested them, but perhaps I wasn't paying attention. I'll double-check the numbering. And yes, I've got some Italian uniforms in the wings...
  21. at--where else--the CM Mod Database! It's a full replacement set for North Africa/Early War Commonwealth uniforms, meaning British, Australian, New Zealand, South African, and Polish, all of which share at least two BMPs, so their all in the set. This mod features the groovy new web gear from my Canadian uniform set, as well as a few other new things such as Aertex khaki drill bush jackets for the Coy/Bn HQs, for the sake of a little variety. Here are a couple screenies, in this instance of Australians: and the Australian HQ I suppose I should mention that the set also includes AFV crew outfits, as well.
  22. It is probably not unrealistic to expect a winter "jerkin" mod for commonwealth troops sometime soon. As for the khaki drill battledress, that too should be easy enough to prepare. I need some guidance with colors and such, though.
