Book Recommendations......for the East Front?
Nowotny replied to Randl's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Maybe someone mention it already but 'The history of the Panzerkorps; GroßDeutschland'(3 vol's) by Helmuth Spaeter is excellent reading. Or 'Barbarossa' by Alan Clark that touches on many units/divisions, etc throughout the Ostfront. -
Thanks for everything Manx. I hope the site doesn't die off though.

Odd technical problem: combo of audio and video
Nowotny replied to Doug Beman's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Volle Deckung! means full cover. Mein Bein means my leg! heh. The yellow line from your unit/squad/tank etc means incoming fire or you've been spotted. If you follow the yellow line it should lead to the enemy shooting at you. Not sure about the squad icon. I would also suggest downloading Scipio's German voices sound mod if you haven't already. It's at www.warfarehq.com Hope this helps -

Would CMBO & CMBB run on WinXP?
Nowotny replied to PawBroon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
If you do by chance use a Geforce2 GO powered laptop then stop by http://www.3dchipset.com/beta/nvidia/gf2go/index.html and download the latest modified Detonators. The WinME/12.90 version is a lot faster then the 7.83 from Dell. Haven't tried the Win2K version yet. Anyone tried sending feedback to NVIDIA? I remember a bunch of people complained about interface corruption in Asheron's Call using Win2K drivers and it was fixed a couple of releases later. -
Would CMBO & CMBB run on WinXP?
Nowotny replied to PawBroon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
WinXP runs it fine, although if your system utilizes an NVIDIA based video card then it will have some graphic glitches, more so with the interface. Deanco's GunMetal mod seems to help a bit. -

Thanks for all your work Andrew. Superb job as usual. Here's hoping you do a CM face mod and German Tank Crew mod in the near future -
Franko, send them my way as well. Thanks!
-
Agreed! and I second that idea about the face mod.
quote:
Originally posted by Maximus: Andrew, outstanding work. Now let's see if you could change face mods. LOL! I might try to do the crumpled look on these as well, but may not have to as it looks like you gave them the worn-look to them this time.
