Mod previews - Der Schweinestall
Nowotny replied to Gordon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Outstanding Gordon!! Can't wait to install the finished product! -
I played CMBO on a Dell Inspiron 8000 for about a year without any problems. All high res mods applied, 1600X1200 res, etc. The config was a P3-1GHZ,512MB RAM,GeForce2GO 32MB,IBM 5400RPM hard drive. I was very happy with it except for the dumb move I made going with Dell for financing as my credit wasn't greatly established at that time and I paid through the nose. Also if you have the means, configure it with the least amount of RAM, you're better off going to places like Crucial for the memory. I also got the cheapest hard-drive from Dell then went to an outside supplier for the 45GB/5400RPM Travelstar hard drive. Good luck!

CMBB INSTALL ISSUES! COME HERE FOR LATEST INFO!!!!
Nowotny replied to Madmatt's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
CD install issue here as well. Crapped out using WinXP Pro/SP1 on a Samsung 332 combo drive. Tried on a Hitachi bare-bones CD drive with same results. MadMatt replied quick, hope the fix comes soon. -
The Waffen-SS had a penal brigage, named 36th Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (Sonderkommando Dirlewanger). Alan Clark's book on Operation Barbarossa went into some detail about this above divisions escapades in Poland. Here's a snip from www.wssob.com: 1942: Hitler order unit expanded to 2 batallions. Additional men come from poachers, Russians, Ukranians and convicted felons from Wehrmacht. more info at http://www.wssob.com/036divdir.html Regards!

Just ordered some books - any more needed?

Get The history of The Panzerkorps GroßDeutschland by Helmuth Spaeter. If you can find the three volume set you're in business. It's expensive but check epier.com or half.com , it's well worth it IMO. #1 and #3 on your list are very good as well, picked up both on half.com for cheap. Regards!! Mighty good job Juju. Thanks for your mod work.
-
Buuuuuuuump!! Hope this mod is released soon! I have an extra Internet Explorer window open, always ready and another one for the day Makjager releases his Tiger I mod.
-
Thanks for the heads up on the Oxford book! This should make more fine reading after finishing up on Guderian's Panzer Leader. I can also recommend Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two. And any of the Order of Battle books by George F. Nafziger.

Nowotny replied to Captain Wacky's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Wha????? Scipio gone??? damnit. Thankfully I backed up his latest sound mod but would be a shame if he stopped modifying them. -

Anyone played Silent Hunter II or I-L2 yet?
Nowotny replied to BeauCoupDinkyDau's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
SH2 is nice, yes needs a patch though. Check out Subsim.com for user mods if you haven't already. IL-2 is a dream. Pure quality shines off the game cd. And it's set on the Ostfront! They're adding another user flyable plane soon, hopefully the Stuka. Check out the forums on Simhq.com for more comments and info. Regards -
