  1. No, you still aren't getting it. The Italians managed to get to African ports more than Rommel required, despite the best efforts of Malta. The problem was getting it from there, off the ships, and then to the front where there continued to be shortages, despite there being sufficient in theatre. Simply getting getting more to Africa wouldn't have helped much - it would only have led to larger dumps in Tripoli, some 1,000 to 1,400 miles behind the front. That's 2-to-4 times the distance between Wellington and Whangarei. Travelling at about 10-20 miles an hour. A.E.B.s point about coastal shipping is valid, but more-or-less the same result could have been acheived from bases in Egypt. Tripoli may have been out of reach, but the destinations of the coastal traffic weren't. Besides, Malta had done the damage to coastal shipping well before any serious consideration was given to capturing the it by the Axis </font>
  2. Lewis never bothers with signatures. And his style is utterly different. Baneman is alright. I, Soddball, High Priest of Jamoomba, have spoken. Now hand over the cash, Baney, or the teddy bear gets it.
  3. a/c in CM don't have a morale effect. That's part of the problem. </font>
  4. Now try it with a couple of halftracks included in the mix, and spread out a bit. Watch the target selection.
  5. That'll be the pints of scrumpy, then. Whoops.
  6. I hate you canuckistanis more than the jizm on my pet goat's hoof.
  7. Gahh. Norton and SP2 are an unhealthy mix. If you can bin Norton then things will improve - sad that 2 of the biggest software companies in the world can't talk to each other, but there we go. Pick up AVG Free from downloads.com and Kerio Firewall from Kerio's website. If you're running an Nvidia graphics card, definitely get the latest from NVidia. As for the advice, my invoice will be in the post just as soon as I can guess your address. Did you pick XP Pro or (*gag*) XP Home?
  8. It's a tough one, because IE and Explorer have so many cuddly liaisons. The only answer is to keep using the windows update website to fix IE and then to avoid using it for anything. I can't think of any clever answers for that, I'm afraid. What about firewall and antivirus? That machine should run like farmhouse slurry off a shovel if I'm not mistaken.
  9. WHAT THE BUGGERING BUTTNUGGETS ARE THESE SAD LITTLE MONGS DOING IN MASTERGOODALE, GRANDMASTER JEWEL-ENCRUSTED TNT-CHUCKER's THREAD?       Vroom!!! VroooM!!! I'm on the last rollerskate to hell!!! ARGHARHARARHAGRHAGRHAGHRAGHRGAHRGHARAHRHAGRHAGRH
  10. I reckon so. Sounds like a goodly rig, so go through and clean out all the 'freebie offers' - recent systems I've cleaned have had Tiscali, AOL, BTOpenworld, and 'free' antivirus. Get some new drivers and reinstall DirectX. Lose the Norton/McAfee and pick up AVG Free and Kerio firewall. Squish the feck out of IE and pick up Firefox. Or maybe you shouldn't have bought an Intel.
  11.   as a bitch on heat!!!!!   ARHARHAHRGARAHRGHARGHAGRHARHGHRGHAGHR The Spirit of Jamoomba possesses MasterGoodale, Grandmaster Jewel-Encrusted TNT-Chucker, and imbibes him with the Sandwich of Punishment and the Whisk of Shriving!!! ANGRY OUT LOUD!!!!
  12. CM:AK is a jump up from CM:BB in performance terms, and it was noticeable. I upgraded by graphics card to play CM:BB and then found it was clunky for CM:AK. I upgraded to an Athlon64 3500+ with 2GB RAM and a pair of 250GB SATA drives, and magically the problem disappeared. I now get lag on 8km x 4km maps with 80,000 points of units on (which is vexing because that's what I'm playing) but anything below 4km x 4km is groovy. Go crazy and spend a couple of thousand of your Merkun Dohlars on a rig of death and just hope the missus don't find out.
  13. Whenever FBs are in a game that I'm playing, their primary target for strafing or rockets is always softer vehicles - halftracks and trucks, then infantry in the open, then tanks. They'll drop bombs on the tanks but prefer to drop them on halftracks. I'm playtesting one campaign at the moment where the Axis forces are forced to hide their units in scattered trees during the day and move them only at night or when the weather's bad.
  14. There's canister available in the early war for Panzer IVs with the short 75.
  15. Aw, gee. And I'm not even on fire. But I do agree that Soddy is a "useless maggot". </font>
  16. So the customer is to blame if industry is rotten? Great. </font>
  17. Gamers have to put up with Starforce because of naive thinking and incompetence of game publishers. Not to mention that it with some games installs itself without any notification to the user. So in order to fight piratism, they have decided to become crooks themselves. As long as publishers don't give a rats ass about customers(quality control) and care more about meeting release dates and screwing their customers in the ass, downloading games to try them out is a necessary evil. I don't like it myself, but when you look at state gaming industry is in at the moment, I find it acceptable. </font>
  18. So you tried the demo, didn't like it, and decided to waste your time stealing the full version? That sounds like time well spent.
