  1. OK. 15 Days 10 Hours until pitchers and catchers report. 4 Days 8 Hours 45 Minutes until ROW IV signups open up.
  2. Worst Row I memory: Enoch using that flamethrower HT to rout me off the map. Only compounded by it driving right through a Piat ambush point. Still the only CM battle I've ever lost sleep over.
  3. New scenarios, an upgraded website, rumors of ROW IV? How can it get any better than that?

  6. OK, found it. In Citadel by Robin Cross , p. 165, describing the drive on Hill 253.3 to the East of Ponyri
  7. I can't place the source at present, but I recall reading about flamethrowers being used against Ferdinands at Kursk. They may have been immobilized, and were obviously poorly prepared to deal with infantry, but they were Tiger-like in some aspects.
  8. Congratulations to the winners, and glad to see that this thing got wrapped up. Thanks especially to Kingfish for picking up the ball and running with it after the big controversy. But, hey, now that CMAK is here (or at least on its way), CMBB is so yesterday. Winning a CMBB tourney is sort of like winning the Arena Football League championship, right?
  9. And that yellow thing on the ankle? That is some sort of court-ordered home detention monitoring device while awaiting trial, correct?
  10. Is it true that all Ferdinands were at Kursk? All 90 saw action? Ergo, by definition the Aberdeen Elefant was at Kursk and in action? That though fascinated me when I saw it a few years back - I assume it was captured in Italy, but there is so little information in the tank park.
  11. Can't make this one, unfortunately. Maybe I'll rent Sahara Saturday night to make up for it.
  12. And how would this be different than any other Rune preview session?
  13. Another lesson well learned: no matter how glorious and confident 20 Italian tankettes look moving rapidly in formation down a road, that dust cloud over the next dune is always going to spell trouble for them. Thanks for the preview and the hospitality, Rune. I'd also add that there was only slightly more combat on the computer monitors in the room than there was on the adjacent TV showing the Red Sox / Yankees game.
  14. Sent Tabpub an email last night, looks like he might be able to make it as well.

  16. Planning on being there, too, as Cubs/Marlins looks like a night game.

  18. Barring any conflicts with Cubs playoff games (hey, those happen more rarely than a new CM game), I should be good to go either day.

  20. I just figured out that I'm on the other end of this one, and it is pretty odd. It sure looks like indirect fire, and I'm sure its HE. Maybe its some sorta visual glitch or something. Maybe KR should move him forward a few meters, too.
  21. OK, I checked the stats of the Nimrods, and indeed one has aircraft shot down reported. I didn't even think to check there, since it is EFOW and I never really saw a reason to check kill stats on EFOW until the game is over.
  22. Wait, is this visual or only audible? I didn't see anything, but maybe I need to check the horizon settings. If it was only audible then I missed it due to the rest of the battle noise. BTW, Zrinyi Assault Guns are about my new favorite toy.
  23. during gameplay? I know it shows up on the AAR, but there isn't any way to tell during the game, is there? I had two Nimrods shooting at a Sturmovik and the Sturmo 'disappeared' at about 1400m, without any strafe or bombs. Come to think of it, the crew of one of the Nimrods said something, but I don't know what - it was some weird moon-man language. Hehehe, 'Nimrod'. 24. Monday morning bump, and thanks for all the hard work, Scott. I just hope your stepping down had nothing to do with anything any of the new guys said.
  25. OK, fair point I imagine. However, I salvaged the movie from my Recycle Bin, and it was reported as a "Track Hit, Immobilized", which I wouldn't think would inclued a hit on the intake vents. Also, it was a PzIV, not a StuG as I had mistakenly recalled.
