  1. DOH! People like you should be exempted CVM
  2. If someone posts here in the next 10 minutes and tells me to buy it then I will
  3. DING DING DING!!! We have a winner!!! Thanks a lot, Tanks a lot We should get your suggestion stickied somewhere The only change that I would make, is that (for me anyways) the Folder Options is located in the Tools section and not the View section.
  4. I'm runnin windows XP And I use DAP all the time but a lot of times for small files I just dont feel like bothering with it. Or sometimes I accidentally choose to download regular instead of accelerated and then im screwed if i need to access the file again. Going to try Tanks a Lot's suggestion.
  5. Haloo! I'm having a problem regarding downloading of files. Whenever I did a regular download, it would always ask me where I wanted to save the file to. Now, for some silly reason, whenever I want to download a small file (less than 5 megs) it never gives me the option and just starts downloading into a temporary internet folder (with such a long and indecipherable name that if I ever closed the download box after the download was finished I'd never be able to find the file again). Can any one tell me how I can change the settings so that it will automatically ask me where I want to download the file? Thanks *goes to re-download a mod* >_<
  6. Thanks for the help guys I'm going to give the demo another couple days (have yet to get time to play more than a couple of turns) and then I'll make my decisions. I saw a couple of real great graphics mods that I would get immediately and there looks to be quite a few user made scenarios. I own TOAW II but I've never been able to get into that type of "grog" game, but I enjoyed Panzer General back in the day and this looks like another game that I could enjoy playing
  7. Hi guys, I usually hang out over at the CM and off discussion forums but I just recently discovered this game. I downloaded the demo and quite liked it. I'm still not sure if I want to purchase it though. A couple things that could turn the tide: are there many user made scenarios? I gather that the game only comes with 6 campaigns or scenarios or something and I would like somehting with a bit more meat to it. And are there many user mods, for changing the graphics, etc? And finally, are there many good fan sites available that would make these things easily accessable to me, complete with reviews of mods and scenarios, and tactics, etc? Thanks for your time
  8. Well I'm pleased to see that you guys criticize the authors of good reviews of CM as much as the authors of bad reviews. Never let it be said that the forumgoers are biased against people who dislike their game
  9. Better than the demographic being "young university smart-ass who also has no money but does know away around the newsgroups" crowd.
  10. I'm a big fan of newsgroups-but not for getting mods
  11. lol I love reading critiques of of CM reviews Everyone is so sensitive. If the review doesn't come from a wargaming site then why even bother reading it? You know they're cut from a different cloth so they're obviously going to see the game differently. Just because they have different priorities when it comes to games doesn't mean that their opinions are less valid-it just means that you are less likely to agree with them
  12. I feel for you Tom W. I've been following this tragedy of yours quite closely for almost a month now. It's better than watching a soap opera Every day I come home from work wondering "I wonder if tom got it today..."
  13. I just wish the scenarios were in chronological order so I could play the game through from the start of the war to the end (doesn't this make sense?) Maybe they should have included an option to Sort by Date or Sort Alphabetically or maybe this is already included I dont know
  14. LOL Wouldn't it have been a HELL of a lot easier (and cheaper) just to go out and download the crack? I did. Never have to put my CMBO disk in the CDROM anymore (which I found extremely annoying because, unlike many people here, I play more than one game) And on that last point I found Sudden Strike to be fun too. Just don't play it expecting to play a groggy game like CM and you might actually find yourself having fun.
  15. I'd say! You got it 3 days before you ordered it. </font>
  16. I'm not buying the game till the dollar shoots up to 70 cents!!! Next week maybe?
  17. well I guess I'd better wade into this debate I only have the demo but I think the control is fine you do know that you can still move from side to side if you hold the shift key no matter where your cursor is on the screen right? How anyone can get upset by having one less key to worry about is beyond me. And how is it completely illogical that circular rotation is at the top and side to side at the bottom? It really wouldnt make any difference to me either way-it's not like I was born being used to rotate the game from either the top or the bottom. It's just something I adapt to.
  18. hmm new auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2059782318
  19. Wow for once CM actually went for less than the BTS price I should have bid
  20. Nope no review yet. I wonder if IGN.COM is going to review this new installation of CM because they didnt review the last one (and I've never forgiven them)
  21. Hmm I don't ever recall the Russians firebombing Dresden, or destroying German war production factories. Why don't we all take equal credit for it?
