  1. Wait, you have a CMBB computer and an internet one which are far enough from each other to require "walking" between them? [/QB]</font>
  2. Your humour is too subtle for us. Don't worry, you'll soon learn that if you want to give us humour, you'll have to hit us over the head with it
  3. Who cares? Why in God's name are you demanding that you pay extra for something that should have been included in the first place? Isnt that what we hate about these big companies? They don't give a **** about the customer, they send out a half finished game and then expect us to pay almost the same amount of money for the "add on" which is what the original game should be in the first place. Rarely do I ever see anyone complain about "not enough models, not enough guns". That's the great thing about CMBB. It's basically as complete a game as you can get. Which is why if I do decide to purchase it, I will purchase it, instead of "aqcuiring" it via online newsgroups, where I've gotten all my other games (complete with their worthless addons)
  4. Will the new cd's be version 1.02? That might almost be enough to make me buy the game
  5. Sorry, but some re-painted panzer with pink skirts is not the same a new model. If all you care about is sweet looking models then go buy WWII RTS when it comes out. An Expansion pack would do three things. 1. Give us new models, new weapons, map titles, and help continue support for CMBB. OK this sounds like a request from a Counterstrike llama who can't wait for the next version to come out so that they can try whoring some new rifles. 2. Allow BattleFront to develop someone else to learn how to code models for both CMBB and future CM products. I'm sure that Battlefront would just LOVE to give away the game coding. 3. Generate revenue until the next CM product. Call me cynical but at 80$ Cdn a pop with almost no overhead/retail costs, I think the boys at BTS will be able to do just fine until CM 3 comes out. And for God sakes stop trying to convince them that we should be paying for stuff that we can already get off the internet for free!! One of them might actually get smart and listen
  6. I thought the CMBB cdrom didnt need to be in the drive in order to play the game?
  7. Holy crap! Only your 2nd post and already you're starting a CM RPG. You are a keener arent you?
  8. 2000 x 1500 on a 15" monitor at 75Hz
  9. you are joking right? Dude I can't believe your registration # is 795 and you're still only a junior member.
  10. the problem seems to be the main_menu_buttons file can anybody tweak it to make it compatible?
  11. Hi there! Quick post hoping that someone can solve my problem before I leave work. I just got the game today-great. I loaded it up (fastest install of all time) and then I installed the 1.06 patch. Everything worked great, THEN I proceeded to install a bunch of mods, mostly campaigns but also JB's Unit Sprites and... hhf_guimod_v11 Then I tried to restart SC and I got this message "Unspecified errors, could not launch Strategic Command. Program terminated" Does anyone know if either of those mods are incompatible with 1.06? I thought I saw something about that in this forum which is why I suspect one of them but I did a search and I couldnt find anything.
  12. Hi again. Sorry about trying to pass off all my computer problems to you guys but this is tech support after all Lately I've been encountering a problem with my Internet Explorer (IE 5.5 or 6, whatever is the newest one). The problem is that whenever I open my IE explorer it always opens up as a page smaller than the screen size. I try making the IE full screen and then closing it but every time I open it up it's back to that smaller size. Any suggestions? Something in Tools that I can use to set the full screen as standard?
  13. LOL I love this forum On topic, I have seen ads for Combat Mission in PC gamer but nothing for SC. I think Battlefront.com does a decent job of advertising but maybe they could do better? I'm not talking about all the mainstream magazines where most of the readership has no interest in this type of game but I'm sure there are tons of other military magazines, etc. Isn't there a British war/strategy game magazine?
  14. Most mods include a readme that will tell you exactly what the mod is and how to install it properly.
  15. I was actually on the HoI forums and I saw a thread asking which was better: HoI or SC. So I read the thread and then I came over here to check out the game. I liked the look of it and I liked what people said on the "comparison" thread so I downloaded the demo and then I bought the game a couple days after. *edit* But I still have yet to receive it [ January 12, 2003, 12:32 PM: Message edited by: Canuck ]
