I've installed about 50-60 megs worth of mods and I feel that my comp is bogging down a little bit. I have a decent computer so I dont think it should be. I have P4 1.5 GHZ 256 RDRAM 40 Gigs Geforce 2 MX I was looking at the settings for my Geforce and I wondered if raising the memory alloted for textures would make things a little smoother I'll show you a shot to show you what I mean. I really dont like dinking around with things because they usually get all facked up. Should I just leave things as they are?

I have a question about Andrew Fox's mods. a lot of them have the same number but an "s" or an "a" at the end of it will it recognize that these uniforms are for different weather conditions or will it only accept the number and I have to extract them to a temp file and choose which one I want and then change the names first?

The only problem now is that when I get in the game some of the words on the interface at the bottom seem to flicker a little. not too bad-but not exactly the way it should The words like "GO" flicker a little

I get in and the font is all messed up. It's like this for the opening screen and the briefings and even the font in the game is off. All the mods that I installed were listed in Mad Matt's mod guide so I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the mods themselves. Check it out-anyone got any ideas?

I need help from you veterans out there. I just installed CM again and it's been 4 or 5 months since I played. Now please dont beat me for starting another "What mods should I install?" thread. I think that usually most mods are up to the player so it's hard to reccommend them but surely there are some mods that you would reccommend installing immediately because the original just cannot compete whatsoever. Any suggestions for mods that I should install before I even start up the game?

Hi all, just thought I'd bump this. Sorry but I'm too lazy to look through the pages of this faq-most of which is people bumping it up rather than the actual fact itself. I've been away from teh CM scene for quite a while so I was wondering if there was any known release dates for CM 2 and whether or not anyone knows of any good previews of it on any sites. My second question is, what is this ASL thing that everyone keeps talking about the on the forums? Some kind of uber oldschool wargame I assume?

no the scenario forum seems mainly for people who are whoring their scenarios. I want pure mapping-I need help!!

I looked in the Tips and Tricks forum before I posted and most of the discussion seems to be about actual gameplay. I think a forum discusing the very thing on which you play is pretty important! At least it seems that way. Almost all other forums that I've been on have a mapping forum to encourage the mapping community for that particular game to improve

Why does this forum not have one? I consider mapping to be extremely fun and interesting-and frustrating. I like it almost as much as the game itself. I'm sure that there are a good many people out there who also like to try their hand at creating a map either for the benefit of others or just for their own enjoyment. I think it would benefit the CM community immensely if there was a forum where mappers could go and discuss problems that they have and techniques that they use to make the most out of their maps. Sooo...can we have a mapping forum please?
