  1. Ok I love close target recce too:) Agree it would be cool to see this work. But the main problem with the current engine is you can only assign one point from the vehicle for LoS. Thats the .50 of the Fennek. Its not that BF is not willing but it is an engine limitation. Prioritation is up to BF ofc. And they work pretty hard on 3 games as we all know.
  2. Yes it would be nice but the last info is that is technical not possible. At this moment the Fennek does a fine job while beta testing. Remember that even with the fantastic optics as soon enemy is close to the fennek that advantage is gone. Your soldiers have to dismount for a close target recce. How that works you can check here at the first part of the AAR. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1632&Itemid=404
  3. T-90's wil come this is only one of lots of scenario's comming with CMSF:NATO
  4. Thanks It was an Hotseat session while testing the scenario. So both were played by me The final version will be more challenging but I cant say to much on that atm. Yeah flame me on the Grammar
  5. Agree, the good news the Dutch were not in Syria too at that time
  6. CMSF NATO is set to the same period as the other expansions.. so 2007-2008. In that period the CV9035NLD was introduced in the Dutch Army. To represent that period units are mixed for the Camping. Basically a NLD Mechanized Company has 2x CV9035NLD HQ, 1x CV9035NLD platoon and 2x YPR765PRI platoons.
  7. Seems the Swedish Model has an lower profile tham Dutch. I think the model is correct. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7KCJGreKqM Check 2nd embark demonstration at 4mins 20 seconds.
  8. Was surfing the web and noticed this remarkable video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVVQk3D0DK0 St Lo (US Sector).
  9. This is the YPR 765 PRAT where Webwing is talking about.
  10. This is bad news. Now I wont sleep untill release
  11. Pity but it will not come back More people asked about it including myself. Having a wet dream we will see it in CM:N
  12. The Germans won the battle of Prokhorova (the Tank battle with over 1000 tanks involved) but lost Operation Citadelle (Battle of Kursk). Operation Citadelle main goal was to close the Kursks Gap. The threat of an Allied invasion in Italie forced the Germans to redirect their "Fire Brigade Units" (participating in Operation Citadelle) to Italie. And thus the Operation Citadelle came to an end.
  13. CMSF is ok I got all modules and you know what... The magic never got me. So my advice save your money and you will learn the mechanics soon enough when you start playing CM:N hour after hour and enjoying those moments you described.
  14. CM: Saving Private Ryan. Nothing to do with Pvt Ryan but it was a best seller and so BF will earn enough with this title to give us all CM WW2 sequels we want.
  15. The Horse Drawn troops? I loved those discussions in the past and still am curious if BF managed to fix this.
  16. Imho the Hedgerow was just the start of the problem. The defence surrounding a field was the main problem. A typical field defence contained MG's, AT weapons, Mortars and basic infantry all cross aimed thorugh a field. And when the field was almost cleared the Germans felt back to the next field surrounded by Hedgerows. Bypassing a field was no option because all fields were flanked by the same kind of Hedgeow defence. The Hedgerow cutter could give the advance to breakthrough that defending pattern but always with the high risk of being flamed by a Panzerfaust when moving through a hedgerow as first unit. So the Hedgerow cutter main advance was to speed up the proces of breaching the Hedgerow but fight behind that was the same with or without a Cutter
  17. Hehe I do not totally agree on Monty. His division commanders failed even harder sometimes. I agree on the Panzer reserves (also used as an excuse of lack of success by Monty). But don’t underestimate the role of the 12 SS Hitler Jugend they where the real pain in the Ass in the Cean area.
  18. Sgt Culin invented the Hedgerow cutter. http://www.knox.army.mil/school/194arbde/181/gmd/culin.htm This page says around 500 where made. Specially in the St Lo area they used these. In the race to Carentan most problems where solved due the fact airborne units took key area's by surprise. After the front had settled by the Germans the real Hedgerow problems started and the Germans where able to conduct their infamous Hedgerow Tactics. At the start Operation Cobra (although there is still a lot Hedgerow terrain up to Mortain) the German organized front was smashed by a 6 km areal bombardment and the almost total destruction of the Panzer Lehr Division. Pattons independent fast Combat Command teams took advantage of the German gap. Therefore the Germans were not able to contact Hedgerow tactics anymore because they were to busy to get the cork back in their defence and stop Patton. They never succeed in that even not with the mass concentration of armour around Mortain. The strange thing is that the British had almost no Hedgerow terrain and where very unhappy with the open terrain because of the German superiority in armour and AT guns like the Pak 40 and Flak 88. The slaughter at hill 112 and the failure Goodwood, Totalize, Tractable, Epsom etc etc is a bitter proof that open terrain was also not preferable in Normandy.
  19. As the title says. Check your latest bone post its runing over 200 replies and going into the WW2 tech details as we (CM WW2 lovers) like it. Some post are even unaswered because of the mass replies to other posts. Could you give me an answer to the Hedgerow cutters please ;p
