Last Update for the Ambush TIger II "side skirt"
Pine59 replied to Jorge MC's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
You have a real talent for creating authentic looking camo patterns Jorge. They have the right "feel" to them somehow. OK, now that I've sucked up Would you please consider doing some side skirts for your wonderful King Tiger mod? You probably based it on a real example but I just can't get used to the look. keep 'em coming! -
The mod is here: CM Mod Database

You need 53374. My guess is Andrew forgot to convert it to a bmp file. Fortunately, I've got Photoshop and it was no problem to flatten the layers which is what is needed. I'm not sure other programs can open psd files. Hopefully he can upload a corrected version but I can e-mail it to anyone who posts here that they want it. It only effects the winter version.

Almost done: new JPz IV mod
Pine59 replied to tools4fools's topic in Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord
tools4fools, great job! If anyone is interested, here is the photo the mod is based on. It is supposed to be the original camo, not repainted. Now if someone can just find the mod... -

The magic is in the modding ability you have . I'm just the kid that sits up front and says he knows what the trick is

The early D has separate left and right turret side BMPs so the numbers show correctly. I suspect that it is one of the few models that does unfortunately.

New MOD Released!!!--Marder II
Pine59 replied to AndrewTF's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Just great Andrew! That rear thing had caused me to dig out a model of the Marder II I had built nearly thirty years ago to check on it because it never seemed right. Fortunately, we have modders like you to correct these grave injustices. -
MikeT's new CMMOS conversions
Pine59 replied to Pine59's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I spoke too soon. I didn't see the new "Panzers" page at CMHQ. So I have been trying to get gautrek's mods to show up on the "Schweinestall dunkelgrau" tab. And I succeeded by changing the rule set prefixes. Now I understand they are intended for the new "Panzers, dunkelgrau" tab, 060. Enough said! MikeT's new CMMOS conversions
Pine59 replied to Pine59's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I think I have it figured out. The rule set prefix for the dirty gray panzer set is 050. The rule set zips included in the two gautrek mods are 060. I manually changed the prefix to 050 and both now have buttons in CMMOS. Has anyone had these work without having to change the rule set numbers? -
MikeT's new CMMOS conversions
Pine59 replied to Pine59's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Thanks for your help Mike. I have the rulesets installed. I uninstalled the two gautrek mods and re-installed them and still no buttons to install them with in CMMOS. Like I said, the KV2 mod did fine. The mods show up in the configure screen. I'll keep playing around with them. [ January 24, 2003, 09:09 PM: Message edited by: highlife ] -

MikeT's new CMMOS conversions
Pine59 replied to Pine59's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Each file has a rule set zip, 060-020 for the PZII, 060-572 for the T34. I also have the latest Schweinestall gray set, most of which are 050-, so maybe I don't have the 062 set. The CMMOS tab for the Schweinstall dunkelgrau mods has buttons for Gordon's PZII and capt T34 but not Gautrek's. Is there supposed to be a german version of the "Tanki" tab? Small problem: I've downloaded MikeT's CMMOS versions of MikeyD's KV2 and Gautrek's captured T34 and PZIIC. The KV2 has its own icon button under "Tanki" but Gautrek's mods don't show up under "Der Schwienestall dunkelgrau" or any where else that I can see. Are they somewhere I'm not looking?

I believe this is a known issue to be addressed in a future patch. I'm not aware of any fix at present.

German Losses East vs West Front
Pine59 replied to Rebus_Badger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
From "Platz der Leibstandarte" published this year: "Nearly 80% of German Army and Luftwaffe personnel killed in action were lost in Russia. The other 20% died in other German theaters of war such as in Africa, Italy, Poland in 1939 or France in 1940 and 1944-1945." -
I've got the 30.82 drivers and have never had the text problem. Unfortunately I can't tell you where to get them if you don't still have them somewhere.

problem in CMBB can no longer do platoon wide deployments
Pine59 replied to MikeT's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
I have seen this as well so I tried Terrapin's suggestion and it still happens. Axis platoons can be placed by either the right click menu or hitting "P". Russians can only be moved as a group by the shortcut key, the menu option only moves the unit clicked on. I can see the other highlighted units being "unselected" when I right click the platoon leader unit. This also happens if I draw a perimeter around several units to select them as well as double clicking the command unit. Strange thing! -
Panzer Colors Revisited - Screenies for Modders
Pine59 replied to Bruno Weiss's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
This won't add much to this discussion but I thought some might be interested in seeing these photos. They were taken at Aberdeen Proving Ground sometime after the war but before the Korean War began. These are reported to be original untouched paint schemes. The vehicles that weren't cut up for scrap during the Korean War have been repainted several times. The color isn't much better than B&W. Notice how the jagdpanzer IV "crisscross" scheme resembles the original CMBO King Tiger. There are several more including a Sturm Tiger if anyone is interested. We can assume these were all from the Western Front -
