  1. OMG - can sombody call the care police!?
  2. Nothing new on the TOW front... *yaaaaaaaawn*
  3. Thanks for answering my question, Madmatt. I look forward to the patch...
  4. Big battles sucks. From what I have seen in my CM-time, most (not all!!) designers of big scenarios mix up quantity with quality. After a few turns everything is just a big mess! I won't even dare to imagine what kind of 'fun' it will be to command a battalion in real time mode!!!! Just my 5 cents.
  5. Hey Steve, yes, I'm indeed the same Pete/Scipio! I remember your former name 'Reef' and that we have played a game or two long time ago
  6. Has something changed on the 'Infantry can't enter buildings' questions? I may have missed some news... Another point is - I have seen a pillbox on at least one of the screenshots. If infantry can't enter buildings, can they enter pillboxes/bunkers? Or are fortifications just eyecandy?
  7. Don't waste money into a 600W power supply. A 420W is good enough with this GPU, except you want to build an SLI-machine. I own a 7900GTO and a 420W, no problem with it. DDR2 Ram is standard today anyway. If you run XP on your machine, one GB is enough. You won't notice a difference between 1 or 2 GB when playing. If you want to run Windows Vista, get 2GB of Ram. However, there is no need to purchase Vista now, since it will take at least one year until a game is released that MUST have DirectX 10.
  8. Operation Flashpoint It's looking terrible, compared to modern games, but I have never completed the add-on campaigns. I'm working on that now
  9. Is 'Infantry can not enter buildings' one of the things that will be fixed? Or will 1C release a 'Infantry can enter buildings'-Addon in due course!?
  10. I guess it is indeed not unrealistic that a squad will try to hold the position and save the wounded before it continues to advance, maybe even stop to advance completly...
  11. Well, I keep on playing my good ol' Operation Flashpoint while waiting. Some folks have released a lot of add-on stuff - only to please me!!!
  12. Interesting view... I guess this means that 'Daikana' is the best game ever, and 'Combat Mission Campaigns' is something else as a belated add-on feature for a great, but technically hopeless outdated CMBB!?
  13. Well, I just hope this won't become a 'Daikatana' or 'Combat Mission Campaings' type of story...
  14. It a WWII tank simulator. The game looks nice, but I'm not so much into tank sims. It's questionable when fans from other game companies use this forum to push 'their' game. But it's much more worse that we find on the TOW forum more news about other games than about TOW. That's at least a very unique marketing strategy...
  15. I brought up this question in another thread, maybe it has deserved to be discussed again... What does this mean - how will it look? Sounds to me like wounded soldiers simply disapear into nothing, while the rest of the squad gets a simple speed penalty. There are many situations on the battlefield where a wounded soldier keeps parts of a squad busy for some time - at least the medic will stop and try to give first aid. Just to mention one point. There is so much noise about the damage models on AFV - why do infantrie casualties receive so few attention?
  16. Mickey, Michael...you boys ain't got not much sense of humor, do you? However, I wonder how wounded/dead soldiers are represented in CM:SF - since each soldier is simulated now and not just represented as a number in abstraced group of soldiers.
  17. How about blood, gore, guts, scattered body parts and all the other things that let us realize that war ain't half as nice as shown on CNN?

That's BS. I have never heard of any game that cn run on Intel CPUs, but not on AMD CPUs. That's Scheisshausparolen, how wie say in Germany
  19. That's funny, I'm asking myself, too, if there will be TOW for my computer. It's just that I own a normal PC *sight*
  20. Maybe the BFC guys stepped away from the keyboard for awhile to spend time with loved ones, it being a holiday and all? </font>
  21. You mean the "CMx2/TOW will run and look fine on my Pentium 500MHz oltimer" dream of some wargamers must be finally abandoned!?
  22. Forward - backward - left - right. This is a joke compared to the camera control in CM
  23. I had no problems with it, and my hardware is very similar: AMD X2-4200+, 2GB Ram, Geforce 7900 GTO. Anyway, I think it's has to much of the modern RTS games. The lack of camera control sucks. There seems to be not much more control over the units as 'move there' and 'attack this'. I hope TOW will be very different!
