1. I have just completely emptied what little was in my inbox, so try again. If it still refuses to work I will get Yahoo mail or something.
 2. Hmmm, let me check this out. My mailbox may be full. This is my ICQ number: 89390539
 3. Zhhivago, If you buy (or have already got) a CD writer, you could put System 9 onto a CD - making sure you have the extensions right - and then run Combat Mission like that.
 4. Is this series called, "World War II In Color"? If so, I've had this on DVD since last Christmas ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 5.
quote:
Bates... *sigh* shut up, will you?

I bloody well won't shut up. Are you a fascist or something? Don't you apprive of differing views? Stop insulting me, because I don't like posting to this mawkish thread.
 6.
quote:
If you dont Like it.. Ban Yourself !!!

I'd rather just put my argument across, personally.
 7. Sorry to break in on the emotional conformity here, but does this really have to be on the forum? I can understand the personal sorrow that Matt is feeling, but no one is helping by bringing up his private life on the forum. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 8. Any German or Russian tank looks good to me. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 9.
quote:
Could some of our European correspondents, especially those in regions bordering the North Sea, comment?

Hmmm, it looks more like Spain in the Summer than Germany or France in the Autumn.... Just remember, the grass and trees don't change colour much, it's just more or less sunny depending on the season. If anything, Combat Missions textures in the Summer are too Autumnal, so we need need new Summer textures rather than new Autumn textures. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 10.
quote:
Yep, hulldown is all or nothing. If enough of your tank is hidden you get the magic text, if not you get nothing.

But I thought CM works out missiles properly? It seems wrong that it's so black and white. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 11. All I can see is a red circle with a white cross running throught it (This message will be out of context when the picture is fixed). ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 12.
quote:
My solution M. Bates, would simply be to have the actual terrain itself determine if a shell gets to it's target or not and remove all 'official hull down' bonuses from the code.

Okay, I could live with that! So, maybe keep hull down - but only as a rough guide - and the status of hull down has no effect, but is just a helpful reflection of how well protected your tank is. For example, Tank A with hull down of 10% is better protected than Tank B with hull down of 20%. This could be because if direction the tank is facing, whether it is "slanted" etc. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 13. Much, much better although I don't like frames much. It certainly loads quicker now - and you kept some bricks! Hooray!! ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 14. <Double post> [This message has been edited by M. Bates (edited 09-29-2000).]
 15.
quote:
Freedom. Isn't that what the guys in the pictures fought for?

So do I have the freedom to beat up black people or steal from a neighbour? Of course not. Your freedom isn't in danger, I am just presenting my opinion to you, which is that doctoring WW2 photos with animal faces in the hope of raising a cheap laugh, is plain bad taste. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 16. Here's an idea: How about "semi hull-down" or "hull down 10%", "hull down 70%" etc etc. Good idea?
 17. I still think that it is very bad taste, and attempting to excuse these stupid actions doesn't make it any better. Why can't you stick to doctoring Combat Mission screenshots, and leave the WW2 shots well alone?
 18. I have read a book which simulated Operation Sealion, and the conclusion was that even if the Germans had gained a foothold in the South East of England, the combination of RAF bases in the north, together with British, Australian, New Zealand and French soldiers, would have driven the Germans back into the sea. In the simulation the NZers won the day - the Germans HAD to establish a permanent sea port, or their offensive would quickly seize up. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 19. Excellent question, I'm waiting for an answer! (bump) ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 20. Aha..... come to think of it, that twin hull down thing does happen a lot. Roll on 1.06!! ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
 21. Out of interest, what hull down issue? I thought it was okay, but is there an issue with it?
