  1. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Oh yeah, I forgot that my friend was also using yahoo mail, so I think you're right. He recently got a new address through his ISP and now everything works ok.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Yeah, so if Rugged Defense could get normal form scripts then everyone can use the service properly. It would seem to be defeating the purpose of an otherwise entirely web-based playing service, that some players have to manually submit these details. Indeed, those that rely on web-based email will have to copy Cyberfox's email link, then enter their web-based account, paste the address, then flick between pages to work out which categories they should cover in the email... If necessary, I am willing to host a form on some webspace which automates this process. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 2. The form up there at RD at the moment sends the information by email, so for people who use Yahoo or Hotmail etc., it probably isn't much use. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
  3. Tanaka read the whole thread, by all of the contributors, before posting again. Or... you look stupid!! ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
  4. What's your problem, sunshine? ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
  5. Look, if their forms are so watertight, then why would they print this: <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>If your browser has problems with this form, please send me data by email. Cyberfox <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> So there is clearly a problem, which can easily be fixed by downloading one of the hundreds of cgi form scripts available on the web. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 6. Well, the only forms I have problems with are the RD ones. They even have a message saying "If you have problems using this form, pleas email us the information" All I am saying is, why can't someone there spend an hour or so getting a simple cgi form script working.
  7. Just tried to report a new game starting on the RD ladder, and it did not work. Guys, get a decent cgi form script for heaven's sake!!! http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/ Try this link, because I can't believe that anyone is able to use the current forms up at Rugged Defense. ------------------ "War is like the cinema. 8. Excellent, keep up the good work!! ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
  9. Darn links! You've got to keep an eye on the blighters! One they are there, the next they are... mutating into 404 errors!! ------------------ "War is like the cinema. The best seats are at the back... the front is all flicker." - Monte Cassino by Sven Hassel
  10. 1 news page + 1 broken link + 1 dud image = Mad Matt must be dead worried
  11. Yeah, some kind of cosmetic thing going on with unidentified vehicles sounds right. It's no major prob, I just wish that other people would get these Unidentified Flying Tanks in equal doses
  12. Anyone who has seen this effect will know exactly what I mean, the damned things are moving so quickly across sideways up and down the screen - across the entire screen - that they are almost a blur.
  13. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>M. Bates, are you seeing actual identified enemy and friendly units showing this behavior or is it the markers (small insignias) doing this?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I have never seen it with the insignias, that I could say for sure. It mostly happens with unidentified vehicles, but I have also seen this with bailed crews, but it does not happen with units that are engaging each other in combat. It's a very strange effect, and when I have finished my current games, I will post the films and passwords on to some web space and let people have a good look.
  14. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Well, it happens very often in my games and I don't find it annoying but funny. Perhaps those tanks are remnants of the 12th Panzerclownische Division...<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I find it very annoying, it completely arses up all my recon work.
  15. Okay, I am getting units flickering violently around the screen. Believe me, this is not an effect which anyone program into the game, and when I have finished my current matches I will posting evidence of this happening. I am playing daylight/regular veteran troops etc etc, no fog or rain or anything.
  16. It happens with sound contacts, sighted units, everything. Is this an issue of swapping files between Mac and PC??
  17. When is the 1.06 patch coming out? It must arrive soon, because this warping and teleporting of enemy units is a complete joke. Why f**king well play with fog of war, when you can't believe your own eyes with these UFO enemy units blinking and reappearing all the map!! It is impossible to plan effectively when I KNOW that an enemy vehicle will start teleporting everywhere when I next get to play a film. ------------------ battlefront.com forum: "DO A SEARCH DO A SEARCH DO A SEARCH"
  18. My two penny's worth: I probably won't buy OS X, because I bet it will be pretty bad with an 800 x 600 screen. That dock thingy looks quite bulky. Everyone I know runs their iMac or whatever in 800, not the highest resolution.
  19. I like using HTML code (my first try). [This message has been edited by M. Bates (edited 09-22-2000).]
  20. Yeah, definitely more ammo for Veteran squads etc.
  21. I never buy engineers, I can't see the point in them.
  22. Try lowering or increasing the number of points for each side in the game. This will effect the size of the map, but I don't know if it alters the terrain. ------------------ battlefront.com forum: "DO A SEARCH DO A SEARCH DO A SEARCH"
  23. Best chapter ever: the "Flea" chapter from The Bloody Road to Death. Very funny!! Also, on the Eric Haest site, he is inviting "donations" from people, so his website is also a cash scam.
  24. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>The dimensions of the map are based on the various variable settings. For example, a very wide and shallow map will come up if you have a high point value and nasty weather selected.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> That's interesting, I'll have a go at experimenting. I personally like the square or very "tall" maps for PBEM.
