  1. I'm sure I'll suck too, so it will be a Comedy of Errors.
  2. I kinda agree the Tanker... BUT, at the scale of the game, since you don't want to go dropping large Airborne units TOO deep into enemy territory, I think you will be able to simulate air drops simply by attacking with a combination of air power and infantry units. (Basically, Airborne units could be assumed to be a part of the battle.) At least that should work until we get our Airborne patch!
  3. I have a rather low powered PC myself. Looking at the sys req's for this game however, I'd say we are both fine. PBEM does not take any more PC power than playing a game solo. I'll gladly play ya as soon as the Demo gets here! No, not Dick CLark. The name actually comes from Tom Clancy's books.
  4. I would suspect that we will be able to play the campaign from both sides in solo play. YAY! A whole campaign (though only a one year game)... WOO HOO! And PBEM! Immer - PBEM is playing against someone online, but taking turns via E-Mail. YOu take your turn, and then attach a file to an E-Mail and send it to your opponent. He then does the same and sends it back to you. Combat Mission has this feature and its GREAT! Looking forward to the Demo more than ever now...
  5. LOL... I should have seen that coming...
  6. If I remember correctly, the production thing was for building actual units... so you could still get "points" for other territories, just not build there if there is no direct line. (I could be wrong, but I think I'm correct.) Para - I totally agree! I'm more impressed with every new question answered!
  7. Damn! Have you noticed how all of these answers are good ones?! What is required to liberate a nation?
  8. WOW! Another fine job! Why isn't this game coming out tommorrow!!?? I NEED it! EDIT: Actually a question now comes to mind, to go along with Para's. Somewhere it was stated that production can only occur in cities that can draw a direct (land) link to a capital. Does the capture of a capital affect production then? 9. Thanks for the reply! I think that we probably need to play the actual game before we can make any criticisms of things we feel were overlooked. I will bitch about Airborne no more... until the game comes out anyway.
  10. That would be kinda cool! I just want something we can all play (possibly by E-Mail), discuss, and play again while waiting for the final version. One, or two (CM demo had two!) complete little scenarios would be SWEET! It would also allow us who STILL have ancient PC's to find out if they cut the mustard or not. One complete scenario... that's all I ask...
  11. Will the DEMO have PBEM capability? More importantly, will the DEMO feature a FULL scenario? (like the CM demo does) A full scenario demo really gives you a feel for the game, and how well it all works on your PC. Thanks for making this game!
  12. Pretty please? Hopefully soon actually means SOON.
  13. Holy crap! YAY!!! Not that there is anything wrong with the way it looks now, but graphics MODS really enhanced CM!
  14. Hearts of Iron is real-time, and Strategic Command is turn-based. I prefer turn-based 100% to real time. Can you stop peddling that other game around here? Isn't this the second or third thread where I have seen you mentioning that crap?
  15. Couldn't all this be accomplished with the scenario editor? It sure will be fun to play around with!
  16. Okay, I'll stop whining about Airborne. It would still be damn nice shiny chrome if it could be added in a later patch! I guess I'd rather have the game sooner, than wait for new stuff to be added. I hope we can play the DEMO PBEM!!! Either way, I can't frigging wait!
  17. I too am VERY PLEASED to hear that the AI suffers from Fog of War as much as the human. SWEET!
  18. Waaahhhh!!! I want my Paratroops! Oooops, sorry for crying like a baby... I'll still buy your fantastic game, with or without airborne, but it would sure be nice to see 'em. I can't wait for the demo!!! [ April 23, 2002, 01:47 PM: Message edited by: Mr. Clark ]
  19. I'm still looking forward to this game, but I'm majorly bummed about the lack of Airborne! From the moment I heard about this game I've had visions of a Market Garden scenario in my head... Overall, Airborne will be sorely missed. PLEASE consider adding them, either for release or for an early patch! Please?
  20. Man! Everything about this game just sounds GREAT! I can't wait for the Demo. I'd also like to know a little more about research (though perhaps I should scan all the other threads before asking.) I also wonder, will "the bomb" and the race to create it be dealt with at all, or saved for the later sequel?
  21. I also agree, on both the AI allied countries and the multiplay PBeM. Would something like that be possible in a future patch?
  22. This game sounds FANTASTIC so far! I can't wait for the demo! (or the real thing) Random DEFINATELY sounds like the way to play. Will the demo have PBEM capability? (like the Combat Mission one does) Either way, can't wait!
  23. Let me echo: Go give blood if you can! Glad you guys are all safe.

  25. They are replaying the footage of the second plane hitting the towers on FOX news right now... its the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. Those poor people...
