Found this interesting little tidbit today: http://ps2.ign.com/news/32109.html Figured BTS wouldn't mind, as neither game should in any way be competing with CM. ------------------ "Fear is for the enemy... Fear and Bullets." "They didn't want to come... but I told em, by jeepers, it was an order."

OT: NetZero, anyone use it?
Mr. Clark replied to Mr. Clark's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Yikes! A Lot of differing opinions here... I do very much hate paying $21 (nearly $22 really) a month for my ISP (AT&T). I guess I'll shop around for a cheaper service, before switching to NetZero. Thanks for the advice people! -
OT: NetZero, anyone use it?
Mr. Clark replied to Mr. Clark's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Thanks for the replies! I will probably give NetZero a go, as I do not play TCP/IP. I do however play PBeM, and will be screwed over if they limit E-Mail attachments in some way. -
I'm going to drop my ISP in the very near future, because for $21 a month, I don't get alot out of it. I'm seriously considering getting NetZero, and saving some cash. Besides the BANNERS, are there any problems with it? Any Limits to E-Mail attachments and such? Anyone?

Poll: Newcomers, where do you get to know CM?
Mr. Clark replied to GriffinCheng+'s topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Not a total newbie, but for the record: I saw the PC Gamer review. -

COMBAT MISSIONS: Situation Report
Mr. Clark replied to Manx_CM's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
If it's a bandwidth issue, then could modmakers host thier own mods in free server space, and Manx could simply add a link to THAT d/load? Would that still run through COMBAT MISSIONS bandwidth? -
I share that LOL. Funny stuff Barrold. Welcome to the fray Solid Snake! My game only took 3 work days to arrive from the time ordered. ------------------ "Fear is for the enemy... Fear and Bullets." "They didn't want to come... but I told em, by jeepers, it was an order."

A plea for realistic explosion mods
Mr. Clark replied to Sig's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Thanks Scipio! How about some of those loud CRACK explosion sounds? I think the movie SPR had decent grenade explosion sounds, didn't it? Perhaps someone could grab those from the DVD? -

Isn't there a Kiddie Cesspool somewhere? For those of us who aren't ready to dive into the full depths of the Cesspool? -

Hey all, I noticed Babra's Recruitment Poster in the other thread and thought I'd stop on by and see what this place was all about. Where do I sign up? ------------------ "Fear is for the enemy... Fear and Bullets." "They didn't want to come... but I told em, by jeepers, it was an order." -

A plea for realistic explosion mods
Mr. Clark replied to Sig's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Man! This is way beyond my talents, but I sure hope someone here can make these sound MOD's! The more posts I read in this thread, the more hyped I get! I'm not sure how much farther someone could manipulate the graphics, as there is only so much there to work with... -
A plea for realistic explosion mods
Mr. Clark replied to Sig's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I really like this idea! I know NOTHING about actual explosives in the field, but I'd love to see a new graphic mod, and especially a new sound mod that represented them more accurately. I know the "hard" explosion sound you are describing, and it would be great to add it to CM. [This message has been edited by Mr. Clark (edited 03-01-2001).] -
Churchill, the tank not the man

Ah, I was looking for this thread earlier today... Can't wait to get this Mod! ------------------ "Fear is for the enemy... Fear and Bullets." "They didn't want to come... but I told em, by jeepers, it was an order." -
Heh Heh, way to dredge up an ancient thread! I've never had a weak spot hit, but I recently had a few TD's pummeling the crap out of a Panther, until the crew just fled. The Panther was never penetrated, it became immobilized, but the rest of the shots bounced off or broke up. The Panther could not locate the threat (in trees) and so the crew just bailed out after about a minute and a half of pummeling. I've never experienced that one before.

MOD's that don't exist, part 2
Mr. Clark replied to Mr. Clark's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
If this Priest Mod is Lo-Res, please send it to me too! Is it from a MOD pack of some sort, or an individual MOD which didn't get much circulation? -

So, are the Humber and Achilles the only 2 vehicles that have absolutely NO mod in existence at this point? -

I was at work when those helpful posts came in, so I'll say THANKS now!

Hey, I finally gave the gunmetal mod a try... it's GREAT. My only problem with it is that the Landmarks (Little messages on the map saying Town Names, etc.) are very blurry and hard to read now. Is this common? ------------------ "Fear is for the enemy... Fear and Bullets." "They didn't want to come... but I told em, by jeepers, it was an order."
