I too get that...i have a PIII600E OC'd to 812 (locks up even when not overclocked) 256RAM, GeForce DDR, NVidia 6.47 Its pretty much unplayable for me now....freezes sometimes immediately, sometimes after 5 min etc ------------------

nah..he's a friend of mine...in fact...i did some experimenting...i choose meeting engagement 1500 pts, this time i pick Allied...i get 2400 pts and the axis continues to get 1500...shouldn't we both get 1500?

IMHO...i would like the ignore key too...in fact...regarding posts refering that it lowers realism cuz u'd just ignore stuff that u hit indicating "gun hit"...i think the ignore key would work well as I don't even want a message telling me i hit the gun....i don't think there's much of a chance u could see well enough that u hit the gun, or the armour behind it, unless ur w/i 100 meters. I would like to see an ignore key, NO indication that i hit a gun, therrefore, if a tank stops shooting at me after i pelted it, i can either assume i killed its gun and risk disengaging, or choose to take it out...but yes..Iggi...more than once my tank swings its turret to engage a running wounded halftrak only to waste all that time as the enemy sinks behind a hill...now, the turrets gotta swing all the way around to re-engage the 4 troops that have already killed 137654 of my troops because they were unsupported -
thanks ahead of time...well...here's the situation...our 30 turn game is almost over....i picked Axis..the game was Meeting Engagement with 1500 points...i wanted to set up a game with 2 sides equidistant from the town where flags were...i assumed this would give us both 1500points and set up at opposite sides of the map with flags in middle (latest v of cm used)...turns out my panther...after killin 2 halftraks, a Jackson, a m10, a mortar carrier, 30 troops (this is some tank commander hehe)...decides to count assets to the allies....so far...at least 9 full platoons of infantry, all that armour, a jumbo SHerm, mortars...2400 points approx.....wtf!!!!!...i'm pretty invincible now as all dangerous armour is gone, mabey a mortar or 2 left...but i started with nearly 1/2 the points to spend as my opponant...what gives? If it wasn't for my Patton-like military genius, i'd be toast!

bazooka less powerful than Panzerschrek? Man...in the entire time i been playin bazookas have NEVER failed to penetrate on first hit..seems they gladly fire it from 170m too with good success...i swear, no matter what side i take, Germ or Ameri's...my anti-tank teams just plane suck..seems like i always get poofed 50% of the time too without even seein where its comin from whereas no matter where my guys are, woods, etc....if they don't get it in 1 shot...they are gunned down in less than 30 sec ..usually if he's hiding in the woods, he'll stand, take the shot and then u'll see the dreaded 45768 yellow and red lines aimed right at his head whereas the enemie gets off 5 shots, none of my troops, tanks, nuttin sees em.

I'd buy the cheapest guys u can get down to "regular"...i had 3 "crack" tiger drivers today get killed by 3 regular fireflies...they all missed and ploded where-as the regular grade allies all killed in one shot...waste of alotta points I think investing those points into another tank is much better...in our example, having 4 tanks shooting 3 allies kinda increases ur firepower 25%

I'm playin Village bocage...30m away 3 times now in different areas of the map...Crack tiger vs reg firefly, no terrain advantage, flat...all 3 tigers dead cuzza missed shots...don't bother buying vet or higher......seems to not make a diff. Guess it happens tho....but superior tank, with nearly the best crews in the game getting their asses kicked by regular guys?...too often IMHO other stats in game... 56% first shot kills by allies with almost all reg troops 32% first shot kills by axis with vet or better, attempting hull down etc Fox ps..don't mind me..i'm just pissed [This message has been edited by Fox (edited 08-30-2000).]

it could have been either actually..all this an i forgot to remember EXACTLY what it was.....i remember it wasn't shooting at me tho and i couldn't understand why...but it DID have a gun i think...it was one of those square flat boxy tanks..it was amazing tho...i didn't think anything could take on 2 jumbos without firing.....i swear i could hear echos of laughter bouncing off metal inside the tank hehe..in between "Pitcheews!" -

err..read my post "LOL..PanzerIV takes 49 Jumbo hits"...may be my new fave hehe ps in my PBEM, for armour, i got 2 tanks vs about 8 enemie armour...tiger took out 2 armours..its now brewing in a ball of fire...my Panther took 2 hits already from the crew that killed the tiger..and brewed that tank killer so bad it made Hiroshima look like a bic lighter..i got my one Panth and about 20 surley broken troops left so the tanks got some work to do...oh....i forgot...5 seconds to go on 300mm rockets landing on three houses LOADED with enemy infantry and tank busters -
Man..wtf....2 sherman Jumbo's at near the end of game came round a corner...i think i knocked its gun out...but these two jumbos, at 53m! exhausted the rest of their ammo on it...49 AP shots.....all richochets...meanwhile..i was trying to protect my croc sherm across town..all i hear is "PITCHEEEEW!"...fragments flying all over the place..there must have been something wrong in that situation..that's gotta be a record...

Not sure if its a fair comparision, but my arty guy took out 76 infantry, 4 mortars, 4 armoured vehicles once

I just did a quick battle, me axis, defending...here's the result hehe...good placement makes a big diffence...but regarding the post title....some infantry guys got shelled bad with 2 tanks, 105mm arty and 120mm mortars...they surrendered....but the mortars kept comin for the guys that didn't surrender...so the surrender guys took some damage....gave up surrending and re-entered combat hehe...i dunno if the gave up their weapons or what but that's a pretty kewl realistic part of this game i never noticed b4

i think this wud be nice too but pretty unpractical...being able to have 4 way or more pbem's....say with 4, u can have Viche French and Germans vs Brits and Ameri's..adds to the need to coordinate attacks...make more friends (or enemies )

Is AI sniffing out ambush and arty fire mission markers ?

Indeed the AI does have advantages Chupacabra..the AI in say, Shermans, when spotted by the enemy (us), has the ability to fire shots, launch smoke and retreat. U can't tell me that the AI just happened to guess when i was gonna come outta the woods and luckily launched some smoke..even if there's 4 sherms vs my tiger....my guys NEVER launch smoke..they seem to wanna try to duke it out hehe...and tero...i didn't wanna mention this...but i noticed MANY times..out in the middle of nowhere...the AI will go in a straight line for miles....get to my shcrek guy hiding in a house with an ambush marker and do a loop just around that spot and continue on..no trees, woods nuthin..never spotted the guy....also noticed the same behavior with tanks vs mines (not daisychain)...tank comin down the road...go offroad just around mines...get back on road...lol....also seen em fly right into em tho too [This message has been edited by Fox (edited 08-26-2000).] -

Hi.....if one is a defender and one is an attacker, the attacker gets some extra jing to spend because of the great advantage of prepared defense...sounds like that's it ...i think i tried attack/def...takin Germans defenders gave me 1500 (that's what i requested)..same set up taking Americans gave me 2000 as the attacker [This message has been edited by Fox (edited 08-25-2000).]
