Thanks MadMaxx....i have to apologize for the confusion...i was having serious trouble updating the version today..i regret any multiple copies that show up...i had to attempt upload about 50 times hehe...sometimes i forgot to change the version number because many times..it reset to no value...i will try to be more careful...sometimes i get impatient and careless :.( Rommel...welp...most i added will be added as reinforcements so i hope it will be more realistic and less of a cakewalk. I also found that u could only add planes if the weather was clear so that was a bummer but realistic. I agree the quality of the map decreases if the weather is clear and u can see the "edges" Thanks again all

Thanks for everyone's support (special thanks for Pvt Ryan And Rommel22)and after numerous suggestions for improving the scenario...we have completed it. It came out pretty well, and although we had to use wheat fields from November to accurately simulate the sand, it worked quite well...complete with the occasional tank getting bogged down a bit in sand. We've reached 100 downloads in about 24 hrs and another 34 in the 5-6 hrs its been on CombatHQ. The final release is out now and was posted at my site about 2 hrs ago so if u downloaded it more than 2 hrs prior to the time listed for this post...go ahead and get the update. Again..thanks..i had alotta fun makin it! http://www.capecod.net/~fkeri/Normandy.html Fox Keri fox@innocent.com ps....making the scenery for this sim was waaaaay easier than the time i made the entire USS Enterprise interior for Unreal using their engine lol...

Fox replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
bring me back a Panzer hehe I been trying to update my Normandy scenario since yesterday...i can't connect to the updater..says it failed to transfer...may i send it tonite? I'll email it but if ur busy (i understand) you can chuck it till next week. Have a good trip!..... FoxK [This message has been edited by Fox (edited 08-03-2000).] -
No need to send me the file...i have already made similar changes (almost exact!) to what u have done...i addded some US troops right off the bat and added 2 waves of reinforcements. I also nuked the Panzers in favor of some other armour more likely to have been seen (i hope)..also added some more scenery for asthetics and some crude dirt roadage connecting some of the command houses with walls etc.....thanks again! http://www.capecod.net/~fkeri/Normandy.html FoxK

CMHQ Annex/Canadian HQ/Chat all down...Dont Know Why
Fox replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
yeah...tryin to upload my new Normandy Battle with no luck...its at http://www.capecod.net/~fkeri/Normandy.html if anyone's interested....here's a quote from a reviewer hehe..... "Fox, first let me say the map is incredible. Excellent job!"-Pvt Ryan Thanks! -
Thanks...u guys have been very helpful...many of the suggestions you made i noticed as well and they were changed and many more were excellent points and i adjusted to reflect your suggestions. After its finalized....i will let u all know and will post the update so u can delete ur old copy so everyone that may want to play head to head will have the same copy. About the assault boats...yes...i had those to begin with...but i couldn't figure out why i couldn't play as the axis if allies had boats..then someone enlightned me..i remember reading too that the puter can't handle assault boats so only the player can own them...it does add some excellent ambiance to have them paddling their way to the beach hehe. Thanks again all FoxK

Yes I did...i remember reading that....too bad i have to nuke them..they added realism to my scenario http://www.capecod.net/~fkeri/Normandy.html -
Hi...if ur doing the RPG in some type of historical order...u are welcome to start right on the beach with the Normandy Scenario http://www.capecod.net/~fkeri/Normandy.html being tested as we speak. Good luck and have fun! FoxK

Who wanted a Normany beach Scenario? Here's one..
Fox replied to Fox's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Great...hope its fun...i'm new to this CM design thingy so look at it as an experiment...i hope firstly to get the right "atmosphere"..ie...the way the beach looks...layout etc....then i can work on the tactical stuff FoxK -
IMHO, i think many of you are thinking too specific...seldom will there be strictly many tank vs tank battles with all other elements excluded...sure..there were a few in Desert Storm but out of the total tanks destroyed, most were taken out by non-tank elements. The M1A2 will remain superior solely because it doesn't act alone. An even number of opposing tanks will be crushed on the battlefield because the Allies have a superior economic ability to maintain and deploy a large well coordinated multi-disciplinary strike along with its tanks..ie tanks..WITH helicopters/artillary/ATG armed aircraft etc etc

Artillery and the practical application thereof....
Fox replied to Big Sarge's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Hi....i have the answer to part 2 of ur question....i think the others covered part 1....if ur timer says, say 2 minutes...u may notice the clock actually tix down every 2-3 seconds really...this is because the time is only an estimate and the actual "time" a second lasts actually depends on the skill of the spotter etc...so an elite spotter that says 30 seconds till artillary arrival may only take 20 seconds, but a vet will take longer and a regular guy may take 40-60 seconds or so...hope that helps foxk -
I have seen nothing but suberb reviews...even pcgamer and combatsim.com make such remarks as "Best war game out there" etc.....This is what happens when u take the time to make a great product that need little patching, even if delayed to save the release of a bugfest. A note to the shirts who release games....if this game was released buggy and rushed out the door...do u think the sales would be the same having gotten labelled as buggy? I think not...let this be a lesson that we appreciate great gamework..word spreads fast with good and bad games and even an online purchase only game without the recognition of major stores can do well simply bcause its a great game and has gotten great reviews...that's why i bought it...i read about it in PCGamer AND combatsim.com. Without those sources and without the reviews they posted...i never would have known about, nor purchased this sim. Keep up the GREAT work Battlefront people ! FoxK

Hi....in my quick battles...i place a few minefields which when loaded and played...are instantly staked with the "minefield" sign right off the bat.....it was my impression that these would be "seen" only if tripped, or if enemy had engineers or if one used daisychain mines...no matter where i put them it seems they circumvent them at all costs, even supposidely buried antitank mines. Is this normal? I have version 1.03 of CM...thanks FoxK

thanks....this is new to me as all my other games give me a choice without having to disable one for the other...great game tho...i may be a great ww2 pilot in sims but i think i would suck as a warmonger hehe FK
