  1. The vehicle looks great, but I think the flag needs to be toned down a bit.
  2. The CMAK demo scenario will feature a bunch of Italian small caliber AT guns defending against a platoon of British Stuarts (I guess they called them Honeys?) on flat open terrain with no cover.
  3. That's the infamous Rot Falk leading that gun crew! No wonder they didn't break.
  4. Damn. I thought I might catch you off guard.
  5. But not for the next one??? Half tracks are usefull for needed firepower late in a battle when much of the other side's armor may have been destroyed and your infantry is low on ammo. It's great to be able to drive a HT with its MG right to where the support is needed.
  6. Sometimes they have mines that they throw at armor. These mines are very effective and will knock out just about anything. I lost an Elephant to a tank hunter team, but they paid the price
  7. I think it turned out to be a PSW222 or a halftrack. I played the operation last week and took a screen shot to post it, but I forgot to do it until I saw this thread.
  8. What are the odds that CMAK will take two CDs, or maybe a DVD? Then there would be room. Also, I am going to reinstall Gettysburg tonight.
  9. Yes. I will continue to read it though to find out how the battle ends.
  10. I read Stalingrad and loved it and I am now reading The Batte of Kursk and am not enjoying it nearly as much. The book is very detailed and would probably be a good reference or research tool, but it is a very clinical account of the battle and does not really convey what it was like for the men who fought it. I'm sure the grogs love this book, but I wouldn't recommend it for light reading.
  11. Let's get Hilde in here with her glue gun. Or maybe she will paint the mutha black.
  12. It was a CMBB problem. We were in CMHQ chat trying to get help to get it to run. It was a beta!
  13. I was going to mention this too. I still compare playing CM on my 22" monitor to that day playing it on the wall, and I am simply not satisfied. At one point I was thinking about getting a projector just to play computer games, but I couldn't justify the expense. I'll probably get a large LCD or plasma screen one day, but not until the HDTV versions cost much less than they do now. I'm not spending $10,000 for a TV. The monitor that gateway sells is EDTV ready and costs a heck of a lot less, but I am sure it kicks ass.
  14. Yes, there was no Volkswagen in the middle of the battle.
  15. Here I go trying to be a smartass about the cardboard counters and it turns out it's really been done. Seriously, I'm sure the new engine is going to be awesome, but I think I would go nuts trying to anticipate the new features, and I'd hate to be disapointed if it didn't include some neat stuff that I was hoping for. I don't remember if any time frame for CMX2 has been announced, but hopefully some sort of feature preview will be announced by the end of this year. Then we can start salivating! I'm sure BFC knows what we (and they) want and will do their best to include it.
  16. Now that's CRAZY MAN! Why would anyone EVER attempt to simulate military combat with cardboard pieces on a flat 2-D map? ! How would you EVER figure out all the LOS and LOF calculations! -tom w </font>
  17. It would be cool if CMX2 came with little cardboard pieces that we could place on a paper map to help us keep track of all the units on the screen.
