  1. I mainly use SS Panzergrenadiers in an armored or combined arms type game, Fallschrimjaegers or Heer in an infantry type.
  2. I agree, those on-map German 81mm's burn just about all of their HE in one turn...
  3. I would like to see all of the vehicles as well, for the reason that, as stated above, we could recreate BO with a BB engine.
  4. Good stuff there, Gian. The tank pictures could make good referrences for our modders out there. I like those Tiger pics...
  5. My strategies come from a multitude of sources. A lot of it comes from reading this board, especially posts by JasonC, that guy knows his stuff. I also have read the American handbook on the German armed forces, and I've got some general ideas from that. It's available at http://carlisle-www.army.mil/usamhi/DL/chron.htm#AWorldWarII19391945 However, most of it actually comes from my own ideas and gut feelings. I think that you can analyze stuff all you want, but to me it just comes down to what I think will be the best strategy for each engagement. Also, know your men and their equipment! Tactics that may work for the Germans may lead to defeat with the allies. One of the great things about CMBO is that you can use a multitude of tactics to solve any given problem.
  6. I am encountering major slowdowns with CMBB on my new GeForce FX 5200. The slowdowns only seem to occur when there are unit bases, lines, text,or unit info boxes are on the screen. I belive this is related to the color compression routines, as all of the above icons have changed colors since the new card has been installed. This has also happened with both stock and the latest drivers as well. If anyone can give me any pointers on how it can be fixed, I would be very appriciative.
  7. Ok, welll, I installed it today and the lines did change colors, but it also seems to have made the setup stage run very poorly for some reason. Maybe it's defaulting to higher settings with this new card?
  8. Welcome, fellow newbies! I just got the bundle pack a few weeks ago, and as you said, it has become a black hole for spare time! If any of you are interested in getting a PBEM game going sometime, drop me an E-Mail. I've been wanting to try that out for a while now
  9. I recently purchased a GeForce 5200 128 mb graphics card, and I need to know if there are any compatability issues with either CMBB or CMBO that anyone knows of. Thanks in advance!
  10. I have had a lot of success with this kind of strategy. By using tanks like Tigers you can KO enemy AT guns at long ranges without much danger to your lighter tanks or vehicles. I often use a few Tigers to clear out any long range AT fire, then moving light tanks, vehicles, and infantry in under the overwatch of the Tigers to finish off anything the heavies missed. 11. Yep, Samba, you're correct. German rocket spotters= Nebelwerfers and Russian rocket spotters= Katyushas.
  12. Yeah, thats about right. more info here
  13. I'm new to CMBB, and I can't figure out how to use panzergrenadiers along with tanks. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to use them with my tanks to the best effect? And just for clarification, I usually play as the Germans.
  14. For me, it's gotta be the Tiger. It has an aura of invincibility on the battlefield- nothing ruins a Soviet's day like a Tiger rolling up and killing a platoon of T-34s while only loosing a bit of paint.
  15. Well, as a new guy to CM, this thread has been of great use to me. Thanks to all the people who have shared their tactical knowhow with us stupid newbies!
