  1. The command for creating craters (on a PC) is Alt-and then either 1, 2, 3, or 4. The larger the number, the larger the crater. Just issue that command and click on the map to place your craters. Alt-5 exits the crater mode.
  2. I have a 55 gallon drum of whoop ass sitting next to me, and I swear by God I will open it if I don't get an AAR from everyone last one of you!!!
  3. Here are a few more German nightmares: Experimental Russian tanks
  4. The saved game file was forwarded to wwb, who is one of the beta testers, who in turn sent it on to Matt, so there might be something there. BTW, I tried both buttoned and un-buttoned, and still no LOS. As I said, I get nothing even when checking a spot 2 meters away from the vehicle.
  5. Not sure if its a bug, or working as intended. Anyway, I'm playing a scenario where I have two BA-64 armored cars, one of which is immobilized in a scattered tree tile. A LOS check of the immobilized vehicle reveals that it cannot see anything, even when panning all the way around to a distance of 2 meters. The LOS line shows up as dark maroon, much like when you scan outside the arc of a bunker or pillbox. A check of the other vehicle shows it can see through 83 meters of scattered trees. A check of a squad hiding 12 meters away from the immobilized vehicle shows a LOS range of 100+ meters. The weather is listed as thick fog.
  6. think's that helped but i realy wonted to make a battle that was the german invasion of poland</font>
  7. I suggest you upgrade to a cray-2 http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=001942
  8. Clash of the Titans II - Evil Porechye Bridgehead - Evil Pride of the Luftwaffe - Evil There you go, Enjoy!
  9. Wow! Quite a response there, Pascal. Maybe you should be the spokesman for BFC, and have all questions directed your way.
  10. A while back I suggested a possible alternative to the follow command, that of a 'stay on road' command. I envisioned a feature that let you choose a vehicle (or window a group), choose movement order (move, hunt, etc) then a destination, and then 'stay on road'. This allows a player a way of getting a batch of reinforcements up to the front line with a minimal amount of effort. Picture yourself playing one of the 3km long maps in CMBB, and you've just recieved a reinforcement group of 3 tanks and 6 HTs. Depending on the terrain / weather / ground conditions that could mean up to a dozen waypoints for the lead vehicle, all the while having to scroll along the length of the map, just to get him near the action. Ok, now repeat for the other 8 vehicles. However, with 'stay on the road' those 100 individual commands are now reduced to 4. In addition, it is less of a strain on the AI than a simple follow the leader command, as each vehicle is not concerned with keeping up with the one in front, but is free to move and act independently.
  11. Terry is the editor of the 'Boots and Tracks Times'. Click on my sig, go to the 'News' section, and you'll see it listed under the October 3rd updates. Excellent work.
  12. But not the slowest... P2-233 (no overclocking) Same v-card 160 MB ram Windows 95
  13. Gents, I've started an ROW II AAR thread at the scenario forum. Head on over and sound off.
  14. Gents, Please feel free to use this thread to discuss the ROW II scenarios, the tourney in general and anything else related to the ROWs. As with the first ROW AAR thread, please restrict your posts to only the scenarios that are completed. For those ROW participants who are still playing in the tourney, or forum members who would like to play these scenario with full FOW... *****Do not read below this line****** * * * * * * * * * * * * One more thing: We at Boots and Tracks really enjoy your AARs, and would like to see more of them. Not only do they net you bonus points, but they also help the scenario designers by providing valuable feedback. In addition, there is a possibility that your AAR might be featured in our upcoming ROW tourney page at Boots and Tracks. We've already chosen 3 from each of the ROW I scenarios. Yours could be next.
  15. See sig, and bookmark the site. We will feed your addiction.
  16. I guess the same could be said of the Puma and the Pershing, among others.
  17. Try to minimize the time each vehicle has on the tracks. You can do this by plotting a move (not fast or hunt) that crosses perpendicular to the axis of the tracks. Of the 4 listed the Puma will fare best, while the other 3 will probably have an equal chance of throwing a track. Good luck.
  18. See sig, and while you are there go ahead and add us to your favorites. What you see now is only the tip of the iceberg.
  19. In my own defense, I was young and foolish. And terrible at CM. Bil whomped me good in that game, but I came back to beat him in Last Defense. - Bill</font>
  20. Doh! Thanks for catching that, John. BTW, that's an impressive sig you have there. Planning on adding a few more to the list?
  21. Did you check to see if you had smoke turned on (Shift-I)? [ September 18, 2002, 05:09 PM: Message edited by: Kingfish ]
  22. …And the 6th army surrendered long before Feb ’43? Would it have meant disaster for 1st Panzer army? At the time of operation Uranus the 1st Pz was several hundred miles to the southeast, deep in the Caucasus. Could they have retreated through the Rostov bottleneck before the Russians closed the bag? And what about the Russians? If the pocket had collapsed a considerable number of Russian units would have been freed to reinforce the drive towards Rostov. Could the Russians have employed these units in time and in sufficient strength to make a difference, or was their C & C not flexible enough to take advantage of such an unexpected opportunity? Could Manstein’s army group ‘Don’ have held them off? If not, what options would the Germans have had? 17th army was already withdrawing across the Kerch straits, could the rest of army group ‘A’ do the same?
  23. ...or maybe the Boots and Tracks guys have one already in the works
