WOOOOHOOO!!! I GOT IT!!!
GriffinCheng+ replied to ParaBellum's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well, as I have said: the improvements on CMBB over CMBO makes it ideal base for Desert mod. -
You Germans have it; now tell us about it.

My number of questions for you lucky ppl: 1. How are planes presented? Sill a "shadow"? Is there any Hawker Hurricane? 2. How are "trenched" troops benefictied? What class of weapons are allowed to be placed in trenches? 3. Any "captured" weapon? 4. Is there any "desert" terrian? 5. What are the parameters for generating QB? TIA. -

Anyone get it in the States yet???
GriffinCheng+ replied to jonp's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Same for those who have to order thru BFC? Nevermind... -
In case CMBB arrived (which should not happen in the next 10 days), which one should I start with, other than the "tutorial"? Or better, which ones present the most fun? Just curious. TIA.

Same here in the Far East -- I guess if they ship this Friday on-the-dot, I may get it next Friday Sep-27. Wait, I have ordered TacOps 4 also... -
Spoilers: : : : : : I used reverse slope just before the ancient riverbed and got kicked by the AI. I figure out that one of the problem is, after relocating your troops, one has to issue the "dig-in" command or the unit is still relatively easy to spot. In the thrid trial, I move all my AT assets around the largest flag. When one forward PzIIIM entered the kill zone, it was greeted by at least ten AP rounds from all directions before it is abandoned. Other guarding panzers killed 3 of the PaKs but the Germans become very cautious so I still keep the largest flag. I put 2 KV-1Ss in a very well hidden location and they kill 4 panzers, including a burning PzIVG (late) before they are nailed. I achieve a minor victory this way. Will try some other tactics. Just when I yelled for this to be transferred from CMBO forum... Side note: iirc the first batch of Tiger I were seen in action some time around Dec '42 at Leningard Front. I cannot remember the source but GG's WiR makes PzVI available in Dec '42. Also, some Marder IIIs (II?) actually mounted with captured Russian 76mm guns. Correct me if I am wrong. I hope this should start the thread going. Regards. -
Is CMBB Gold yet?
GriffinCheng+ replied to Chad Harrison's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Is the "golden" date Sep-20-2002 is just the date open for public orders, or just the game goes gold and/or the game is available for shippment? Please make sure I was wrong! Well, conincidently, it is the Mid-Autumn Festival for Chinese Sep-20. P.S. BTS/BFC, you have 2 orders here.... -
There can't be 2 views on this one. I hope it could make all of them into the final -- or at least in 1.01.

PL, I understand that CMBB has been your "baby" (pun intended) for such a long time and well, it is your feeling, fine for me. But let's just stop for a while and enjoy the demo. I guess you have already done so. Well, I guess the people here could say what they think so long as they abide by the rules and I believe BTS/BFC can judge from a healthy discussion to those are not. PL, I hope you can get as much sleep as you could now as in 3 weeks, you will probably forget where the bed is again. I would like to take this opportunity to thank PL for his excellent, continuous efforts on the CMBB FAQ. If anyone miss it, I suggest it should be moved here right now! Good luck.
