  1. Thanks Franko, I will try to mirror this ops before the end of the day. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." "Can't get enough Tank?" Get the CMSOD at Combat Missing Command Post (CMCP) at http://www.angelfire.com/games3/CMCP/
  2. Franko, Can I mirror your ops? Please send it to me. Thank in advance. Griffin. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." 3. gunnergoz, sorry but still waiting in my mailbox Does it mean I am going to dropping out playing CM but building CM site in the future? Hope not. 4. I think you should stick with "binary" mode. BTW, I use Transmit for all Mac FTP work, which is great. 5. Yeah, I don't see why it does not work. Are you using FTP upload or HTTP? If it is FTP, check to see if it is transferred in "binary" mode -- but Netscape should not have a problem with this cause I use Netscape on LinuxPPC and it is aokay. Could you try IE for Mac? 6. Gustav, I use Zipit too and well, I don't think it is a problem, cause I have used it in PBEMing against other PC players -- including some are using the original PKZIP. About posting wihtout zip, just make sure people select "Save Target As..." (IE) to save the file and it is okay. However, my site is developed almost entirely on LinuxPPC, well the tools is slightly different. Hope it helps, though. 7. Hey, Frankly I have not tried any "Rune 6". I have tried "August Bank Holiday 2.0" and it is up to the claim that it is one of the best tank-intensive game out there. And you can see clearly why Tiger is no ubertank. I sent the Allied setup of "Rolling down the River" to another individual but this individual never response what-so-ever. I am going to play "Woody's Crossroad" soon. I will let you know what I feel about it. Griffin. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." 8. Can CMCP mirror this also? Griffin. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." "Can't get enough Tank?" Get the CMSOD at Combat Missing Command Post (CMCP) at http://www.angelfire.com/games3/CMCP/
  9. IMO, anything from WBW are great! I tried "BRIDGEHEAD AT BENICOURT" against Henri -- even though I could only make a successful pull out, it could be fun. Also, all PBEM/TCP-IP only from Rune are evil. Griffin. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." "Can't get enough Tank?" 10. I don't think US Presidents work with computers -- may be that wannabe Al Gore? I played CM occationally on my ferry trip home, even the whole trip takes no longer than 45mins. 11. Hi mom! I have both Prismo and PC! I love them both! Okay? Griffin. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." "Can't get enough Tank?" Get the CMSOD at Combat Missing Command Post (CMCP) at http://www.angelfire.com/games3/CMCP/
  12. Way OT: I am pretty sure MS-DOS and Win95 are orphaned. But I am not sure if you can get hold of a copy of DR-DOS (a DOS "clone") not to mentioned if this one is even supported. 13. Still OT: Yep, BSD is arguable the best Unix-like OS out there (Long Live Sun Microsystem! ), if not the market pressure (Unix SVR4), SunOS would still remain as a BSD derivative. For the file system, iirc, BSD uses 512-byte blocks whereas SVR4 employs 1024-byte blocks. That translates to better use of storage blocks. Linux is closer to SVR4 crowd. If my post is kinda flawed, pls let me know. Back to Topic: Back in MacOS X beta, reports posted here show CMBO is not compatible. Seperate boot is required. Personally, I don't see it is going to be changed unless Steve & Charle company says the otherwise. 14. From little information I gathered so far (sorry not really interested in jumping into OSX for my good Prismo) it is a Unix core (or more precisely Mach micro-kernel). It provides true preemptive multi-tasking which Wintel crowd has been enjoying for years (sadly) and better crash protection through better memory scheme (memory segmentation?). I am not sure why MacOS needs the latter cause for almost a year, I have seen less software crashes (spell G.P.F.) than Win95/98/NT crashes in a day - combined. FWIW, you get a number of GNU tools available right now for development but I am not sure if Sun JDK 1.3 and/or GNU Java are immediately available. That is pretty much a developer's pov. 15. OT: Game Commander works best on Star Fleet Command series cause you can handle the game faster. Oh, that reminds me the old thingie that flight-sim nuts map "sh*t" to "eject". 17. Wolfe, the address in your link looks like a distributor cause I rarelly see track balls of this brand, cuase most of them here are Logitech, may be I should check deeper... ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." 19. Yep, I recommend also mouse pads which are gel-based, especially those include wrist pad. Gel-based is good cause it does not attract dust so it is kinda hard to get dusts into the mouse ball. 20. Wolfe: I hate to mention but the keyword is "HERE" which means "Hong Kong"! See your quote of mine? All trackballs by ergonomics are right-handed. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI." "Can't get enough Tank?" 21. I am surprised to see pointing device could generate so much interests here. Well, as for mechanical mouse, you need constant cleaning the ball and other moving parts where dust can easily clog them -- worse if you eat while play. I have been using optical mouse for years (except the current IBM mouse) which uses special pad. MS IntelliEye is great for no pad is needed but the 5-buttons version is kinda large for me and it uses 2 LED to track movement. If you can stand for 1 button, Apple Pro Mouse is way better and is very stylish too. Unfortuately in general, it is the mouse button goes out first -- especially you play button-intensive games like Diablo II, Dungeon Keeper or any RTS. 22. Could use "smoke round" effects to emulate that but that is visual, implementing rules around it is another story. Since Steve&Charles Co. is burying its head under a big pile of CM2 work, we shall see when CM2 sends them back here. Fingers crossed. IIRC, in early N. African campagin, apart from "cardboard vechicles", Rommel ordered his AFVs to generate as much dust as possible (using chains? or just from exhasust?) to bluff their real strength. 23. Liquid? I can imagine it would be messy in loading and handling "wet" rounds, not to mention in cold weather. 24. After d/l the DFDR_Patch file, following excatly the instructions of the Readme_first file, could be clumsy but after following the steps at the 3rd trial (first 2 attempts, I have been ignoring them), it works perfectly. However, the German HMG unit becomes a "kangaroo" (not a vechicle) -- see the pic above. Griffin. ------------------ "When you find your PBEM opportents too hard to beat, there is always the AI."
