1. Has anyone noticed that HansFritz hasn't even repsonded back. I think he doesn't care that much about this. I think he just lost to the AI and was pissed about it.
2. Thanx for the correction Andreas! I got the regiment numbers mixed up.
3.
quote:
Originally posted by Mr. Johnson-<THC>-: What is wrong with some of you guys? This is a wargame. Its about killing. Its about destroying the enemy. This is not Chess, or Risk. It's a wargame. What do you think happens when a tank fires into a squad? Or a machine gun chatters on men caught in the open. If you don't want death, why play a wargame? What is the purpose. Go play Monopoly!

Love that sig Mr. Johnson! And Wild Bill, that's so true!!!

5. ciks, That was awesome and very infomitive. This also shows me more of what I've read about the courland pocket. I finnished reading a book, "In Deadly Combat: a German soldiers memoir's of the eastern front by Gottlob Herbart Biderman" He was a soldier who fought witht he 132nd inf. division throught he war (41-45) and ended up in the Courland pocket till the end. His memoirs are soemthing alse, really interesting and I'd say really accurate. The books has a whole chapter on the Courland pocket and he describes the bitter defensive battle there. It was really moving to read, the way he described the massive arty barages by the soviets, of all cilber weapons. Up to 152mm or more. Thanx for the info and the site. I bookmarked it. I will make an enitire scenario pack for CM2 about the 132nd German inf. division and Gottlob Biderman. I am reserching on the 132nd and his regiments the 346th regiments I belive. Thanx, ciks!
6. I aslo agree with this. It would be great to go back and see what your opponent is typing. Or prefer not see when your opponent is typing "whooo hoooo!!! I got your Tiger, whooooo hooooo!!!!". That gets me all pissed off.
7. tiborhead, Ofcourse! Once it's done I will animate it. Most likly have the turret turn or something and then fire.
8. Juardias, Not sure yet, the polygon count is way to high for any kind of game to use it. When I strted to make it and was just making it for myself. But when I apply for a job or something I'll inclde it in my portfolio. I am planning on making a PSW222 next.
9. Thanx Dan, That site is freakin awesome. I did my model free hand but I had a book in front of me to go by "German Tank of WWII encyclopedia". That book has very good info and good shot of tanks. But these blueprints, they'll help a lot, thanx again Dan.
10. Ok now I understand tiborhead, yea, Lightwave is nothing like that. Altough you CAN make paths and than lathe the path and make glasses and vase in way you describe. But thats as far as that goes. Something like this tank I did, you do have to do it piece by piece. Which does take an awful long time, but that's expected on a model like this. Thanx for the complimets guys!
11. You can animate anything, but you can not add sound, as far as I know. Thats done in premier or something. I am sure there is a pulgin or something to add sound stright from lightwave. I am not sure I really understand your question about modeling, but I'll try to explain. It depend how you want to model, I started with a box with many segments cutting the box. This way I can bend and twist and so on. giving me the main hull. I did the turret the same way. I also use cutting tools, what I mean I sue another object to cut the one I am working on. Actually the renderign is done in a different program. Basicly it's called Lightwave but there are 2 programs. "Modeler", that is the program where you build the models. "Layout", where you do the animation and rendering of the object. I hope that clears it up a bit. No I have not done human model, but I will, infact I did a manaquin, which is sort of a human, but no facial features or anything. Basicly I just did the manaquin to see if I can at least pull of a body shape and I did. The tank is pretty high in polygons, it's a bout 160 thousand polygons. And it will get higher as I have more details to add.
12. Dan, Lightwave is a program specifcly for building and animating 3d models. It's really easy to use, but there is alot to use and a lot to learn. The standard view is a 4 quadrant view, you have an x,y and z axis ofcourse. You can also set up the views how ever you want. You can rotate them, move them zoom in or out and so on. Lightwave is expensive about 500 bucks I think or more. But I got it for free from a friend. As long as I am using it as a "learning" program at the moment and not using it comercial, it's legal. Hope that helps. p.s I am using Lightwave 6.5, version 7.0 is suppose to be out soon.
13. thanx for the compliments. Not sure what color, I might put some cammo on it, or have it panzer grey.
14. Hi, I am working on this Pz-IVD model in Lightwave 6.5. It's taking me about 4 weeks now to get this far. It aint done yet, I figure another 2 weeks or more to finnish it. But the hard parts are finnished (tracks). Plus I have to add textures to this thing and it'll be done. Hope you enjoye these, tell me what you think. There you go, hope you like these.
15. THEY ALREADY KNOW!!! did you read the statment by MadMatt, none of these shots are final, infact they are pretty much all different now as these shots were taken 2-4 months ago. Kwazy himself said the model in the shots were all re-done or "repaired" a long time ago. So stop pointing out what someone has alrewady mentioned 3days ago, and what BTS new 4 months ago. It's just quite anoying (sp).
16. How about a shot of BT-7 and maybe a Pz-38t. If not anything alse is fine, I can't wait, yay! Yay!
17. ciks, I agree, I am alsolooking forward to the complaint that will be ganarated. My Kv-2 was killed by Pz-38t, thats impossible, I am returning my game. This afcourse will be regular, it will go on for about 1-5 months and maybe start to die out. But just look at CMBO, people are still "discussing" the same thing that has been "discussed" eight times before. Oh well, should be fun.
18. Leet, that sounds awesome. I am only 19 and would love to have a replica of a tank in my drive way. I would go along with you on this, but I got very little money and time. I wish you the best and I hope you do build this thing. I am saving money on the side, for a future AFV of some sorts.
19. yes we are! I also want to see what you put together.
20. Bump, still wondering about the above question.
21. I hope in CM2 we will be able to hear the horrid (to me wondefull and pleasent) sound of Katayushkas (Stalin's Organs) firing. I wouldn't want to miss this sound for anything. I know in CMBO we don't hear the arty guns fire (unless on map direct), only the impact, but I hope in some way we will be able to hear the Katayushkas fire! BTW, does anyone know where I can download the sound of katayushkas (Stlain's Organs) firing. I would love to have that as my start up sound for windows! Thanx!
