  1. Thanks Doug - It's not perfect yet, but it's coming along. The odd scores will be rectified (I found the bug in the algorithm.) BTW - as to posting the alrogithm (several people have asked) the only version of it I have now is full of PERL. Fionn has a text version that is very readable and makes much more sense than my coded algorithm. - Bill
  2. Are the first CMs winging their way to the lucky people who ordered first? As a sidenote - I can't wait for the game! My first 24 hours will be spent with the scenario editor, and the next 24 with the DYO blind battles and the next 24 hotseating some friends. 72 Hours, no sleep. Thanks Guys! - Bill
  3. Jeff: If you REALLY want a to hit table for a weapon you can make it in about a second. Play a hotseat game. Have everything run off the map except a sherman and a ATG. Have the ATG Kill (but not brew) the sherman. Move your schreck to 200m. Look at the chance to hit the abandoned tank. Move 10m closer, look again. Repeat for whatever increment you want and write down. This might even be something you would want to post to the board... (of course it is of dubious use since nothing will be shooting the schreck, and I've seen some really lucky/good teams too...) It's not a hard procedure that would only need to be done once per unit you want info on... - Bill
  4. All you do is enter the force multiplier when you submit the game and the ladder does the rest! (I put this in yesterday or the day before...) - Bill

  7. I am pretty sure that what the game does when you use a force multiplier is add that percentage of your purchse points to the side who gets the advantage. If that is the case, then you should add the percentage change to the score you enter. I'll work on something to do that automatically. Woohoo! A game is in! - Bill
  8. If the ladder turns into a "must be number one killkillkill and cheat to win" thing, I will rectify that somehow. The purpose it to find people about as good as you and to make it easier to find people to PBEM. I won't be playing much on it and I wrote it! - Bill
  9. Really bad luck (for you). I've had a panther hit a sherman from 27 meters in the turret and do no damage! (The next shot was a gun hit, then finally a killshot. Sheesh) - Bill

  11. Bear in mind that the VAST majority of the German troops in CE are really crappy quality... I think that affects the chance-to-shoot thing... - Bill
  12. Would it be possible to add a rotate order to pillboxes that packed AT guns? I can't see the sherman I want him to kill, but it is doing the "pop over the hill, fire once and pop smoke" thing. I wish I could swing the gun over there and sit on him... might be unrealistic though - just a thought... - Bill

The actual truth of the matter is that the MG-42 HMG squad was equipped with the Gehensiemachschnellüberflydeathspeedjetpack Mark IIIA which allowed speeds easily twice that of any other infantry division in the war. I have a clear and reliable source which, while written in Swahili must be purchased immediately by everyone who has ever heard of WWII: Willhelm Carius, "Handbook of Knowledge I Pulled out My Butt", 1944. The only way is to play a living sneaky person. Send me a turn - either scenario either side. p.s. I'm solid but not great.   16. I can set up the ladder to generate a player registry in a printer friendly version that is accessible from any webbrowser. (If people want this...) Also - is country of origin something that people want listed in the player info for the ladder? I can add it in about half a jif. - Bill

Wouldn't swear to it though. As to the big guns, there are very big things that go boom in the game already. I think there are nebelwerfer forward observers to the mid 200s and I know the allies have battleship guns. There should be plenty of booms to keep everyone happy If I remember right, the Elefant was used in the East and would be more suited to CM2. WP is a thread (or threads) unto itself. Do a search and you will find out more than you could care to know! It's not in the game though... CM should arrive in a couple of weeks (i.e. 2) at the outside! Steve and Charles (the people responsible for this wonderful addiction) really rule. - Bill
  18. There are: Americans, British, Polish, German, Canadian, and Free French. The Russians will make their entrance in CM2 which will be exclusively the Eastern front. CM3 will be the war in the Mediterranian and CM4 will be the early war in the west (I think...) In the Complete Unit List there is definitely British stuff there.   20. I know personally It would be a lot easier for me if you would release the textures one group at a time. It would make them easier to convert to the mac... and the sky is top on my request list... - Bill
  21. I've found that 105s and sometimes 81s will immoblize the panther more often than not. If it is a crappy position I just let it sit there and think about what it did. If it's in a commanding position I sneak everything I have that can kill tanks around it's flanks and bean it good from the sides. Then it dies. (HaHa on it.) - Bill
