  1. I believe my character cuts quite the dashing and handsome wasteland adventurer figure.
  2. Or while holding down the "f" key you can rotate the view using your mouse.
  3. Not being sure where you are in the game... you will have opportunities to gain a full-time residence and you will also locate temporary beds during your searches of buildings.
  4. Greyditch appears to correspond to Clarendon. The subway map, is not identical to the real Metro, but some of the stops and the line colors are comparable.
  5. Patrocles..you'll feel very much at home with all those titles after playing Fallout3. The game system for the older titles is virtually identical to that used in FO3. You'll notice that combat in those games is similar and doesn't have nearly as many catastrophic kills as you achive using VATS in FO3.
  6. To each their own. I'm thoroughly digging it.
  7. The music.. Ah the music. I like to tune in Galaxy News Radio and listen to the oldies while I'm exploring the wastes. It's a superb soundtrack. If you liked any of the previous fallouts in any way shape or form, you will dig this. It's got it all...the Vault, rad scorpions, rats, cockroaches, an improved PIP Boy, nuclear explosions, ghouls, raiders, stimpacks, iguana on a stick, you name it, it's all there. Quite possibly best game ever.
  8. Yes, but better...MUCH better...(and I thought Oblivian was bloody great).
  9. Fallout 3 is a remarkable game. It's early on still, but it may quite possibly be the best game I've ever played...at least in recent memory (and I've played Oblivian).
  10. We had some in our hooch ...We tried outrunning them... We all ended up standing on our cots as the one of the beasts dragged off poor Kowalski. Frightful creatures they be.
  11. Aww that's not a spider.... now that's a Spider: http://www.awfulgames.com/fun/camelspider/ http://www.camelspiders.net/spiderpictures.htm
  12. YD, Good point. I give you Dan Sickles circa 1859: http://www.thepoliticalbandwagon.com/articles/2003December.html
  13. Advice? Take the high road. Wish people well and try to leave them with good memories regarding your departure.
  14. To be fair, Warry's Warfare in the Classical Age is quite a good book.
  15. The concept of enlistment bonuses isn't really a new one. Enlistment bonuses, and re-inlistment bonuses for that matter, have existed in one form or another since The US Army went voluntary. The amounts have changed (although enlistment bonuses of $20,000 in the mid 80s weren't unheard of) and the MOS's that have been opened up for bonuses have changed, but not the concept itself. What is new is concept of offering junior to mid level officers $$ bonuses to stay. Those bonuses are pretty hefty and had not existed previously.
  16. Elmar, I'm not talking about the disagreeing. Disagreement is fine and actually healthy if we desire to learn and grow as people. That is not what I am talking about. I'm talking about the deliberate mocking/bashing of a 9/11 tribute, and then silence in another very hateful thread. The gf has always been about differing points of view. My point was that the views seem to becoming much more one-sided and MUCH more full of hate, anger, and venom. That is what has changed the most in the the 9 years I've been here.
  17. I don't see much hope GJK. There seems to be too much anger and vile and hatred being spewed by a few that drowns out the dwindling numbers of others. The latest fiasco by that farmer guy was enlightening. I applaud those who spoke out against his hatred. What was interesting was that some of those eagerly lambasting an innocent attempt to remember 9/11 didn't utter peep 1 against a truly hateful individual. That spoke volumes about those people...hearts of darkness Thus goes the gf these days...
  18. Who's to say how 9/11 will be viewed and remembered 25+ years from now. It may be noted in a way similar to how we recall Pearl Harbor Day or D-Day or any other noteworthy historical day...or it may become a symbolic holiday, in the same vein as Nov 11 or July 4th...Who knows. For now, with it being so vivid in most our collective memories, a variety of remembrances and tributes is to be expected. If you don't believe that/like that, then fine. Move along and don't piss on those who do want to do something.
  19. Yep, guilty as charged..so sue me.
  20. Because they're the arrogant, self-righteous thought police who think that anyone who doesn't share their narrow-minded and opinionated view of the world is **** and thus, worthy of having anything the unworthy said attacked and shat upon.
  21. The weather up there is pretty decent this time of year. You'll make a killing due to the exceptional exchange rate for your Pound. Be sure to travel with virtually empty suitcases so that you can stock up and take back all the goodies you acquire.
