And the lord spake, saying "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

It looks like the Hatfields and McCoys. I never knew Europe in WWII looked like Eastern Kentucky, houses and all... Ah well, whatever floats yer boat.. -

quote:
Originally posted by Shep: Frankly I'm shocked that these issues were not considered by the designers or confronted by playtesters. Just who was in charge of the Birdsong Testing Committee? I demand his resignation!!!

Those responsible must be sacked

It would be great to have Quick Operations in addition to the Quick Battles. Allow us to input the parameters and select forces via point allocations, and then let us go at it.

quote:
Originally posted by Formerly Babra: Thanks for confirming my fear and making up my mind. Looks like it's Chicken Run for me

Damn straight! Nick Park is a genius and he's British too. It's a real pity The Patriot has turned out the way it did. It smacks of some of the propoganda war flicks made in the 40s, and that is NOT a good thing. Hollywood, and Mel Gibson in particualr, should be ashamed for putting out a piece of crap like this.

quote:
Originally posted by Germanboy: Have to agree with Compassion here. But of course that is a far too complex story to relate in a movie, so far better to go for some Brit-bashing. Good old Hollywood.

Not to really defend Hollywood, but wasn't ABTF directed by the British Lord Sir Richard Attenborough ?
quote:
Originally posted by Eichmann2: Well done mate, I am one for good old homour, but it's 'good to see' that Hollywood inspired anti-English pap is still alive and well-NOT.

Easy lad. Wesreidau is a great friend of mine and my post was in jest as a response to his original post. You know, the one where he was talking about being like Frost stranded at Arnhem without his CM. Mine then meant it was on the way, but had become delayed in transit. The Bromhead reference was to Michael Caine, who played Bromhead in Zulu and the CO of the Irish Guards in ABTF. If you thought that was anti-English, then you are completely off track, and might need to calibrate your sensitivity meter. Allons
