THey dresssed as americans changed roadsigns and caused general confusion before becoming caught... Skoreny and his men were executed by the US as spies

Well almost. Skorzeny (Score Zany) was tried, but never executed. He eventually settled in Argentina and is credited with being the guy who created Odessa, the organization that secreted away war criminals. He was quite a great Commando, pulling off some very audacious actions. He rescued Mussolini from a mountain top castle among other things. He was a giant of a man too.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by aka_tom_w: For those too lazy to click.... And I quote.....

I think this is the most blatant bit of plagiarism I've ever seen. Talk about coming onto a message board and looking foolish... WOW.
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by BorderBill: Blackhorse,Volkssturm are in the game. You have to select them as a category from the top menu -just like selecting Waffen SS, Fallschirmjager, or gerbiljagers.:}

Well paint me green and color me purple. I stand corrected. Forget everything I said there M. Hofbauer.
 4. CM has Volksgrenadiers NOT Volkssturm. There's a huge difference, and I think you are confusing the two. [This message has been edited by Blackhorse (edited 08-09-2000).]
 5. 35 And I'm kicking and fighting the whole way to 36.
 6. This would be a welcome addition. BTS, what are the chances of this happening?
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by John Erickson: Wasn't Abrams the guy in charge of the action described by Simon in the post above? John

Yes
 8. You should put together a walk-thru on how to make textures. Some of us -not-so-artistic folks might wanna give it a try.
 9. It just doesn't get any better than this.
 10. Whatever. Glad to hear to hear you enjoy the game and the board. Take Care.
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by :USERNAME:: Well the release of the game and the input of the sudden influx of so called newbies has had a nice effect called 1.03. OBVIOUSLY it wasnt play tested against the AI thouroughly or issues like reality on the battlefield werent addressed. Take credit where credits due and take blame where blames due and show us that you are a man.

You really need to chill out. Just enjoy the game and this board. Don't be one of those yappy little dogs that nips at the heels of those it doesn't like.
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by JOCHEN PEIPER: By the way "BLACKHORSE" how do you post pictures in here???

Using UBB the source location must be an image on a webpage. for instance my image above is http://members.aol.com/chrisc1009/tanker2.gif which is a webapge I made for just this purpose.
 13. I don't think there is any newbie/oldie conflict. If there was, it would be settled by a PBEM game of CM.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by fatherof6: Chris, Do you remember when you figured out that Fionn's Panther had a damaged gun? Glenn

Hi Glenn, Yes, it was 2-3 turns later. I noticed the turret appeared to be stuck, oriented to the right and down. I also noticed he was no longer as aggressive as he had been prior to the hit. I therefore surmised he was no longer an anti-armor threat. He was however still a very viable threat to my infantry and as a scout for Fionn. Allons
 15. You are 100% correct Shep. It's just that I know how the battle ended
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Shep: Fionn, is that the best you have? At least you have the humility (seriously) to put the AAR up there when you received a drubbing at the hands of one of our Finest. There are some great lessons there on both sides.

Easy now Shep!! The battle is far from over, and I am dealing with that bane of all commanders..time..lack of time in particular.. Plus, I'm fighting a darn good German commander. So, NEVER count the chickens before the eggs are hatched, and never make a read on a situation until you have solid intel. 17.
quote:
Originally posted by Fionn: Oh gees, more scouts. Still, I think the GIs' problems began with signing up for the cav . I manage to get a few more licks in before this is over.

Actually they started long before then even. And yes, you get many licks in
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Simon: Chris' patience is remarkable, he started his right flank/Fionn's left flank recon elements forward 3 or 4 turns before even moving a single other unit My impression was that this was intended to give Fionn some FOW signitures to worry about, a feint in other words.

Thanks Simon. Yes, it was meant to do exactly that. I had hoped he would bite more than he did. His use of counter-reconnaissance is excellent. Take good notes You should see the battle we're fighting right now...Actually, you will see it soon, since we're writing up the AAR for it right now. It will be an AAR that is updated daily as we do turns. It will be as close to a real-time AAR as we can make it.
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by Wesreidau: My 2 year old "little soldier" sits on my knee with his camo`s on whilst i`m playing CM and happily points out "Tanks", "Men", "Rain" and "Bang Bang". I cannot think about trading him in, as I`m grooming him for the beta-test on CM-14.

That is too funny! Tell little Ryan I'm waiting on that PBEM file he still owes me
 20. I bought SL in what...1979? The rest is history.
