1. Scipio, I am very interested in the new uniforms. I just thought of a new rule in which I can make that would swap between your winter uniform up there and Fernando's old Jumpsuit mod. Like I said, that Bulgarian Forest Camo would look good for Fallschrimjagers. And that Italian SanMarco-Marine uniform would work for a new SS uniform.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Cauldron: Hy, If there is a mod's guy that could do some sherman mods where you can ACTUALLY see the tank detail and not some brown smudge that would be MOST welcome.

Try Marco's Full Sherman Pack here. Also get the Camo versions of the Stuarts there. DON'T GET ANY of those winter versions as you will need the CMMOS versions one of which is on Manx's site here. Then also get the Winter Greyhounds here. And then get basically all of what's on this page. Except you don't have to worry about the batch files that come with them. If you have CMMOS, just copy in the BMPs and you'll be set.
 3. Here's a screenshot that I took last night while playing "Blackshear". It features Marco's Winter Shermans and Andrew's Winter US Uniforms.
 4. Ahh, now I know why the new Free Photo Hosting site that I found a while back isn't working. They're looking for a new server. One Big Village.com
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: I don't know if this is the BMP that you guys are talking about or not but the recent Greyhound mod by Marco Bergman has a bright pink what looks like shirt hanging out from his jacket. It sure looks out of place.

Are you talking about the tank crew? Are you using Andrew's tank crew? If so, IIRC, he mis-masked one of those. You can easily fix it by repainting the pink area with the correct color. R=255, G=0, B=255.
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Scipio: Ehm - have I missed something?

Ummm, I'm confused. Do you not know what CMMOS is, or do you not know about my German Uniform RuleSet for it? CMMOS is a new C++ Windows program, written by Gordon Molek, that replaces the batch files that some mods used. The program is so versatile that you can write "rules" to swap any files within the game. All you have to do is to come up with a suffix naming convention and then write some simple rules to swap them. I have written a RuleSet to swap all of Andrew Fox's and 2 of your uniforms, along with a couple of options including multiple helmet textures and trouser options. It's pretty neat. Imagine you want to install your Heer Splinter with a Felgrau helmet and Feldgrau trousers. Easy. Just select that option and click Apply.
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by vogless: I'm new to these posts, but does anyone know why there are no US Rangers or Brittish Commandos in the game? Are they planned for part 2? I would love to set up some raids. I guess I could use airborne troops, but I don't think they would be as good.

Well, I don't recall the reasoning why US Rangers aren't included, but as for the British Commandos were probably left out for the very reason as stated by Dorosh and emrys To clarify, "Part 2" is covering the Eastern Front. Whole new Theater. So no British or American forces in CM2 at all.
 8. Yes, OK. Now your question is more clear. This has been discussed before in just how soon foxholes do become visible even in normal non-snow scenarios. So this isn't anything new. However as you know, tweaks to LOS in CMBO are not gonna happen. The question is, will CMBB use this LOS issue differently. Only time will tell.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Scipio: Oh, helmets are no problem, even if I prefer headgear without camo - the reason is - as you surely know - that SS and Wehrmacht both use the same graphic, and I'm to idle to change'em for a scenario every time .

But that's where my CMMOS German set comes in handy. You can change helmets and trouser options with just the click of the mouse. When you're ready to release these, I'll be happy to add them to the German Uniform RuleSet. I've already got your Splinter and Tan-Water in it.
 10. Those look really great. I like all 3. In fact, the one based on the Bulgarian Forest camo would look good for the Fallschrimjagers. You gonna make matching helmets for all of those? Just take the arm or leg file and make a 128x128 selection and create a new image. Then save it as 5015.
 11. The foxhole graphic is the same as one of the crater graphics. I think there are 2 different crater graphics, so therefore you if you mod the foxhole, you mod the foxhole. Here again, this is a prime example of bad texture sharing. Otherwise we could have modded a much more realistic foxhole graphic.
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Madmatt: The only time I have seen the display gradually become more and more corrupted were during times when the CPU or video was being overclocked and heat became an issue. Madmatt

No overclocking, but now that you mention it, the 2 times that it has happened was during large maps with lots of hi-res stuff loaded. For example I was playing "All or Nothing"...huge map right. I'm running 1.2GHz Athlon and 64MB Geforce 2GTS. With any trees turned on my framerates sucked. I thought I was playing on my old Celeron 433. Turned the trees off and my framerates went back to normal. Of course I'm loaded down with tons of Hi-Res stuff. The other scenario was "Champ de Mars". Again a fairly large map. But not as complex as "All or Nothing". Of course with Tanks a Lot's super-hi-res buildings and Gunnergoz's super-hi-res dark field grass. I can see where heat may become an issue. So I guess when this happens, I'll just shut down for a while and come back to it later. I've got pretty decent cooling in my case though. A total of 6 fans.
 13. Well as I said, I upgraded to 8.0 due to a game I bought that required it. Then after that is when I to remove and then reinstall my video drivers, so that shouldn't be the problem unless as you said that there is some garbage left over. However, this corruption only occurs every once in a while. That's why it's so strange. It'll be fine during a game, and then all of a sudden I'll notice something that's screwed up. And then I'll check some things that I know would also be screwed up and they are. Basically in the Unit Info box, it will have all the data will be replaced with the same number and it will have some lines flickering through it. The next time it happens I could take a screen shot of it and send it to ya.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: Well if I do use the extra one I have on hand I'll get somebody to do it. I might be able to figure out how to actually install it but installing the software is were I don't have a clue. But I've got a guy that would probably do it for me for very little. I guess it wouldn't hurt and I might just need the space with this new CMMOS program. Now that's got me excited. Plus with CM2 coming out soon I'll probably need it. Well, I think you've talked me in to it. Thanks for your help and prodding Pvt.Ryan. Now where's those mods.

Lee, if you don't mind me asking....how old are you? Is this your first computer?
 15. This problem started fairly recently. I would be playing and then all of a sudden the text in the Unit Info box (after you hit Enter) and the "penetration" text will get corrupted and start flickering and stuff. It is fixed simply by saving and then aborting and then reloading the game, but why it happens I don't understand. I'm still using the 6.47 drivers for my Geforce 2. Nothing has changed except for a recent upgrade to DX8, but I have reinstalled the drivers since then due to a really stupid thing I did with regards to desktop resolution. (I run at 1280x1024 with Large Fonts, I went down to 640x480 just to run a the AA: MoH Normandy movie at a larger "res" and then realized that the Display Settings window doesn't resize and I couldn't hit the "Apply" button when trying to reset my resolution back to normal, so I had to boot to safe mode and remove drivers and then reinstall.) I'm not sure if it does this when I have FSAA activated or not, but with 6.47 drivers it shouldn't do this anyway, right?
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Ales Dvorak: Anything new, General?

Shane said he was going to send some revised files to us this week. Gordon has already modified the base paint job and added Canadian marking for a Churchill MkIII from C Company or something like that from Dieppe.
 17. We Do do that. It's called "testing under fire" on the CM battlefield. We love blowing away our beautifully painted units. They always look better dying that way.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by MikeyD: Ah, someone else who changes bmps to pukey red to see where they show up! I started my own halftrack mod awhile ago butthe project lost steam. I've been playing with clown-colored M3 halftracks ever since. Maybe I'll bit the bullet and use these great mods instead.

We have a Full Blown Allied Halftrack CMMOS Mod coming soon. It includes US, FF, UK, CA, and PO markings. The Commonwealth versions have been repainted from Magua's general US version to match the darker green that Marco uses for his Commonwealth Shermans
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by AndrewTF: Too bad there's no picture I take it you're asking for a Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse uniform mod. I suppose I could do one, but I'll have to face the wrath of Maximus and his German uniform ruleset.

Well actually it's no big deal. I was just wanting to get that tanwater in there so I could send it off to Gordon to get the thing released as soon as possible. It's pretty easy to write another rule and set up the naming convention. I'd probably use _FJ_Flieger and for the helmet, just _Flieger.
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: I've been listing Maximus but I don't understand half of what you guys say. If you wouldn't use all that computer jargon it would help but hey I realize that's my problem.

What computer jargon? What do you think I have been saying when I say a German Uniform RuleSet? RuleSets are what CMMOS uses to swap files. When you get my RuleSet, you will be able to swap between MANY different uniforms and sub-options with just the click of a mouse.
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by YECoyote: Go to Combat Mission. there are new mods there. I gotta say, that is THE most impressive mod I've seen. I'm talking about the Sexton, of course. Love the tank tracks too. The MMG carrier isn't bad either.

The Sexton has been out a while. This is just Gordon's rendition of the Camo versions. Here's the original. However, that version is not set up for CMMOS. However all you have to do is to add _uk to the UK version, _ca for the Canadian version, _po for the Polish version, and _sa for the South African version. Then install those files into the Bmp folder. The new Sexton is Gordon's Camo version. It already has its CMMOS extensions on it, which are _uk_camo. [ 09-05-2001: Message edited by: Maximus ]

 23.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: That is one good looking uniform. I would love to use it if you get it posted. I sure hope they come out with a way we can switch uniforms in CMMOS. It sounds like it to me so here's hoping.

lcm1947, I hate to say this, but HAVEN'T YOU BEEN LISTENING???? I have a German Uniform RuleSet and associated uniform files that will be on its way to Manx and Madmatt. Ironically I have a uniform included that I made called FJ Blue-water. It is a cut and pasted job using a trouser texture from some other mod using the gear from Andrew's Splinter FJ mod. I'd post a picture, but apparently the free hosting site's server is down.
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by Ellros: The graphic symbol is hardcoded for vehicles although not for infantry sound contacts. Making a symbol for wheeled vehicle sound contacts only would require a change in the game's coding since wheeled vehicles are normally given the Light Armor symbol. The game does not distinquish bettwen a light tracked sound contact and a wheeled sound contact.

Actually the Sound Contact Generic Symbols for Vehicles textures aren't hard-coded. The models are, but the textures aren't.
 25.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: Vol #1 was the German uniforms, Vol #2 was the American uniforms and Vol #4 is British and Canadian uniforms. What happened to Vol #3? Just wondering. An oversight? Or was that the tankers uniforms and just never assigned a Vol#?

Vol#3 was the Panzer Crew uniforms. However they may have been absorbed into Vol#1. But I wouldn't worry about downloading the German Packs at all. I have a CMMOS compatible set coming to you soon via Manx.
