  1. Different. Normally I would not point this out, since it is so blindingly obvious, but since I know that cloven-hoofers have trouble with counting, I thought I should keep it simple. Say, did you get my emails? BTW - the number of Stugs would presumably be a lot higher, since IIUHC Mattias is not including independent Stug brigades and Stugs/Hetzer/Jagdpanther/Hornisse in AT formations.
  2. A good. No need for me to hit the bottle tonight then to drown my sorrows. Although I may do it anyway just because I can. Thanks a lot Steve. All the best Andreas

  4. That would only make sense if e.g. once the lMG gunner dies for his parental country, the proficiency of his replacement is assumed to be lower, and this affects the FP of the squad? I can see why it is necessary for officers.

  6. Steve You have me a bit worried now. Why do you track specialty and wounds? Maybe define 'specialty'? Thanks.

  8. You are wrong, that's not what 'we all' want. All the best Andreas

  10. I think the only thing missing in CMBB is that the Panther should be able to hover. All the best Andreas
  11. Hi Dook Thanks a lot for the feedback, that is very helpful. In my playtest against Sergei it ended with a draw (no correction for fortification bug in there yet either), but you are right, it is leaning towards the Russians at the moment. If you are interested I'll send you the revised version with a list of changes. All the best Andreas
  12. On a small map, yes. On larger maps, I don't think so. On a 4x4km ops map there are plenty of places to get out of the way of immediately impending doom by taking some unscheduled leave without losing the opportunity to get killed by indirect means, such as airstrikes, or artillery, and without leaving the map.
  13. Mattias I think he is referring to something else. To wit the Panther as the Undefeatable Uberkillingmachine of Doom™. All the best Andreas
  14. Wouldn't demos and screenshots tell you that?

  16. AIUI the Wehrmacht was becoming quite short of ammunition at the end of the campaign. I am not sure what the impact of this would have been if there had been a prolonged campaign in Poland with heavy ammunition expenditure in assaulting well-defended and entrenched positions.
  17. Coming back to Rudel - from the TDI thread it appears that he claimed 12 Soviet tanks on his first outing with the 87G somewhere around July 7th 1943. Are these part of his 500 claims? Jason - rationality left a long time ago. Unfortunately however, Rudel was a neo-nazi icon (highest decorated soldier, vanquisher of 500+ tanks and a battleship, loyalty to his Fuehrer to the death, yada yada), and as such questioning his kill claims is about as heretical to Nazi nutcases as walking up to the head of the Spanish inquisition somewhat around 1550 and suggesting that all this God-stuff is really a load of nonsense, and asking him what he thought of that nice Mr. Luther in Germany with all his interesting and reasonable ideas would be, and if done in the 'right' place, the response would be similar.
  18. Hi Ollie You missed some opportunities for beer and Saumagen in Worms already. If you are interested in coming along next time, drop me an email.
  19. Mr. Reid appears to be not only a first-class researcher, but also a thoroughly nice chap.
  20. Why don't you just answer the question? </font>
  21. I missed that, but surprisingly do not find it out of character.
  22. Oh, and if then someone could go and total the claims for all German flyboys during the first few days at Kursk (i.e. before 5th Tank Army was introduced), I think we maybe on to a winner
  23. Further to Pamak's post, if someone could check the total number of losses for 1st and 2nd Tank Armies at Kursk (I am away from my books), we'll probably find that the number is 30-50, if not less. In a battle with a high concentration of air assets, to all types of air attack (bombing, tank busting, strafing), with open ground, and an embarassment of riches in terms of targets available.
  24. Why don't you just be a nice little Nazi and STFU? </font>
