What a fresh breeze from when we were being sieged in Warsaw, Bruno. I'm actually going up against a German force with tanks now against a commander who believes in chivalry...ahhhh, nice. You should receive my e-mail in reply, sir, detailing when I can start advancing my forces to the field and deploy them, along with terms for battle. Tiger, don't worry about it. It'll be just like the Falaise Pocket.

Glad you brought it to my attention Germanboy. Rest in peace, Josef. -
Looking for opinions on platoons
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Colin's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Polish AB platoons, American Glider Platoons, American Engineer Platoons. -
Mornin' boys, Haven't been terribly active on the forum (school's taking up a lot of time). Saw the "Polish Soldiers" thread, and instead of blowing my top, calmly played a QB and wiped out an SS Company with a Polish para platoon (supported by 2 Vickers). Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm still alive and kicking here in Driel, although I've got my hands full, no PBEMs right now (near Christmas, perhaps?)

Combat Mission Vietnamers Unite
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Mord's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
A-1 Skyraiders, and Pararescue (USAF)! -
US Platoon (very understrength) rushes infantry gun and depleted SMG squad to capture VL. HQ leads the way-knocks out gun, eliminates SMG squad (3 left) and is eliminated itself in last seconds of combat with aforementioned squad. Put that LT in for a Medal of Honor.

US Tank Destroyer TO&E

Great info, ltjim, thanks! -
WWII American TD Unit OOBs, TO&E?
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Gen. Sosaboski's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Thanks Slapdragon and Rude. I appreciate it. -
Hey all, Just wondering (seeing all the info on the Russian rifle squads and such) if anyone out there happens to know about the OOB/TO&E of an American TD Company/Battalion. I know about the Nafiziger (sp?) collection and if all else fails I'll contact them, but any info?

A Word of Gratitude to so Many of You
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Wild Bill Wilder's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Thank you Wild Bill, for the quality scenarios I have seen so far, with many more to come I hope! BTW, any word on when SP: The Nam might come out? -
Scenario Length- Your Preference?
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Wild Bill Wilder's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
The max I've had is 45. I like small unit action, and I mean small. Maximum I'll go is with a full company on the map. As stated numerous times, I don't have all day (unfortunately) to play CM. -
So... you were asking for building mods?
Gen. Sosaboski replied to McAuliffe's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Wow... -

A vote for Korea 1950 here. (After WWII, of course) -
Missing Squad Types in CM
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Hamstersss's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
*Sniff, sniff* WAAHH! Ok, alright. You've done enough, but I'd still appreciate to see some sort of special unit in a later CM. If not, at least promise me you'll put the AVG (Original Flying Tigers) in WHistling Death. -
The next game you will buy after CM
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Knaust's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Battle of Britain (the one with a link to its preview on page two of this thread) looks awesome. Count me in on that so far. Hurricanes! Maybe they'll allow you to fly for the Poles (with real markings, and Polish psyche and voices). -
Missing Squad Types in CM
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Hamstersss's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Oh yes, Rangers needed too. . I would like to see a battle, actually, between Commandos and GJs. Two light infantry units up against each other. No vehicles or support weapons (except for mortars limit-3 inch). I think it'd be fun. -
Missing Squad Types in CM
Gen. Sosaboski replied to Hamstersss's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Commandos! I want my Royal Marine Commandos, and the Commando Francais (Ouistream)! I look forward to the 1st SSF and 10th Mtn for Italy. British Glider Pilots! They had an entire regiment, and were formed into squads once on the ground! -

Gen. Sosaboski replied to Knaust's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
CM2 of course. And maybe that 82nd In Normanday thing-101st has too much glory sometimes... . Maybe B-17II, although with no TCP/IP it might really stink. -
Rick Jason (Lt. Hanley) is dead
Gen. Sosaboski replied to rwcanuck's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Sorry to hear about that RW. I only got the chance to watch a few episodes of Combat while on vacation in Canada, but I loved it anyway, and my father told me stories about when it was acceptable to play soldier with the "Sgt Saunders Tommy Gun". Those would've been the days... Ah well, back to the grind. -
OT: What happen to Slapdragon?
Gen. Sosaboski replied to GriffinCheng+'s topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Get well Steve! Good luck on CM learning part deux, I'm sure you'll do fine! -
Is Combat Mission 2 done yet?
Gen. Sosaboski replied to jpinard's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Don't we wish jpinard. I downloaded the SPII demo today, but, as with you found that hexes don't mix well with a 3D battlefiled experienced fighter. Although the modeling of weapons was quite well done. To each his own.
