  1. max, i sit in the same room with my friend and need no RW. But is is very unhandy to leave the game for each round to trade the files.

  3. It´s a little like WesternFront from Talonsoft where 4-6 Tanks build 1 Unit (as it was in real). I think the C&C chain should not only be broken/disturbet when LOs is gone or the Tank is buttoned it should also be down when the Tanks go away further then maybe 150 meters because the Tank Commander has sure no Chearleaders with giant Flags to signalize IMO the Flags a little more handsized and that will be harder to spot when 100 or 150 meters away (depends on weather/Light)
  4. this happend very similar to me with an allied jep-mg in the Scenario "Son" where i played the Germans. As i blew out the candle of the allied forces that are seetlet up on my side of the river i decided to go over the bridge and chease the fleeing paras. I toke 2 pumas and a SdKfz251/9 and seting over Bridge also 2 StuGIII then 2 Jep-MG appeared. My Stug´s and Pumas and SdKfz 251/9 where only able to hit 1 Jep, while the 2nd toke out 2 Pumas and the SdKfz 251/9. I like to say this is absolute the worst BS that can happen and is a little unrealistic.

  6. Ok read the Thread where BTS statet that CM2 will be placed in the Eastern Front. So i sit here and mind a bit on it. What we all know is that Russian Tanks got Special in the beginning of the War seldom a Radio onboard. Now we got to think about it. In CM 1 we play on a front where Tankradios on both sides where common. Not so when it comes then to CM2, where Tanks on Russian side have no radios and somethink got to plot in the lack of C&C of the Tanks. I see it this way working good: a) Make it work like it works in CM1 with Infantry so that 5 Tanks build 1 (Squad?) Unit with 1 Tank as Leader Tank. So if in Range of the Leader Orders will be set Quick and good (Delay 8 sec´s and Waypoints followed correct). If the Tanks got to be Bottomed or to far away from the leader the C&C line is alomost Broken what lead to a much longer reaction Time on Orders (maybe 45-60 sec´s) Orders may be not set up correct (failure in Waypoints or Driving fast instead of Hunt or some failures that might happen when communication is not good). The Tanks maybe could also be under C&C from Platoon Leaders of Infantry but then also with a little penalty because a Infantry Lt. is no Tankleader . What did u all the other Players think about this Theme. Hopefull of many responses Uedel

  8. U sure soon can tell if a Vehicle crew is green or Veteran or Elite. It is the way it holds fire how he is aiming and reacting on threads that tells u damn that are though cracks or damn that idiots must be totaly green.
  9. Joe, i would prefer method 2. Why ? Ok as the Defender u often sit arround watching your enemy come and dont have to do Orders, so u can spend time study your opponents march up your position several times and get a cloue what he plans to do. So u spend the time in watch and study. As Attacker u get a plan and give orders and as long as u have no contact your plan will seldom change so u use your time for giving orders to acomplish your plan and not watching the other do anything you have enough time to see where he is to give orders and dont have to look that much on films.
  10. the main problem IMO is not that we got a "No-man´s land" but anyway thx Talenn for the Tip will try it. The main Problem is that the Computer draws a straight frontline, so if 1 Enemy Soldiers gets behind your lines at only 1 point your whole front will be drawn back. I seen this in a few operations. I defend...Enemy AI pushing into my defences...gets slaughtered and flees....next battle my frontlines are drawn back 400 meters becaus there was still an imobile undestroyed MG 30 or 40 meters in front of me who causes that my Frontlines where drawn back (most designers did not set a zero-meter No man land. So if the could model a non straight frontline it will be much better so u loose ground in the northern half of the map and still hold importend positions in the southern edge u are now flanked but ok u still hold that position and still can decide to deploy your troops unflankend and drop that location or to hold out and reveal the northern flank and hold the south etc etc hope u understand what i mean. Cup de grace would be that u be able to surround someone in great maps so your deploy zones are all arround him
  11. Hy, just designing my 2nd Scenario with a friend of mine. But after i am happy with the first operation i made i am a little unhappy with the 2nd, Why ? ok i say it to you, it is the Frontline calculation. I made the Battle of Bastogne, with a lot ground to Manouver and fight for both sides, but this is now the problem, when i decide as the German not to attack direct frontal and instead to encircle my oponent the mistakes apear, the frontline moves him out of city while no of my soldiers set any foot in it, i only moved north and south around the city but the computer calculates allways a straight line. Can this maybe be overdone in a future patch ? also the option of 0 meter no mans land did still not work.

The Difference between cal .50 and 20mm is that cal .50 is a MG (MachineGun) and the 20mm is an MK(Machinecannon in german Maschienenkannone) so that means 20mm is a quickfiring automatic gun fires 20mm shells with varios warheads (Explosives, Mines etc) the 20mm was Designed and used as light AA-Gun but we all that we Germans are not soo dump we explored the use of 20mm AA Gun vs Infantry and light Tanks/Vehicles is very desastrus to them. Also the 20mm was mountet on a little vehicle made it easy transportable by Infantry. (look Saving P. Ryan there u can see an 20mm in action and what it should do).   13. I would like to see Campaigns in CM maybe from the point u get an Inf. or Tank Btl and u got to head for several combats. The men may change in your unit yes this is thrue and sometimes u got to give away an Vet Tank crew and only get green replacements. BUT IMO when u lead your troops wise they should gain exp. and go further in the status. So a Campaign can last the whole war with u as the Commander of an Btl. no matter what mens are serving in your Btl. Reeinforcments and reequipment should not lay in your hands or only limited to select the units who gets the replacements. So let me explain. U fight a battle and loose a total of 45 men. After the battle u get 30 replacements (green) for now so u select Team C1 who lost 5 men and give them 3 green Replacments the status of the unit going from Vet. to Reg. U should also be alowed to uprank some of your troops to max. Sergant or Feldwebel. But only 1 rank per time. This way we could have campaigns that are realistic (Computer gives u Replacements and reequips you --> new Tanks improved Weapons etc but he also gets teams from u in exchange --> he gets team Platoon B and gives u a green platoon U fight with your Battalion several Battles of the War with mixed intentions (Recon, Reconattack, defend, Breakthrough etc)

  16. i would like to see a little chnage in the scen editor of how to plot streets. Make it like set an start and end point and maybe 2-3 midlewaypoints and the computer draws the line of the street. will make it much easyer to plot streets rail and rivers over huge maps. minor changings can made then in the way like it is now (tile by tile)
  17. i didnt envolved Assault Boats ! i got a Bridge and some funny stuff like Shermans MG´s and JPz IV and also a lot of infantry to play with but no boats :-(
  18. ok, i createt a Scenario and had a lot of fun by designing it (Allied Combined Forces try to capture a Bridge over the Rhin-River in Heavy Fog vs a mixed German Force with a minimum of Arty on both sides). After i designed it i played as the Alied and was astouned that it was no easy walk for me and the AI handled the German defences so well, man he poundered a lot of my Troops and finaly began to counterattack with success !! As i finished playing the scenario as Alied i whant to try it as German vs Alied AI but surprising was near i could not play as German vs Alied AI the only option was Hotseat PBM and TCP/IP. What did i wrong ? Could i only play as attacker vs defence AI in self designed scenarios ? Any Hints will be usefull. Greetings Uedel
  19. What i miss in all Strategy/Tactical games is the option of "recon" Scenarios. What about giving the possibility to gein points not for capture location X,Y because of giving points for recognize 60% of the enemy troops correct without geting killed or seen. Would be nice to play such a scenario when u try to get info´s on the enemy´s strenght and position but u a really not in strenght to kill him so u got to be carefull not to been seen or heared
