  2. @C´Rogers i did get it, but i still don't like it. So i quited playing after having enough off Super Americans slaughtering helpless Syrians. The Syrians simply don´t stand a chance except in close Urban areas or when they are so Oversized that it is absurd. This makes no fun for me.
  3. well i dont gonna buy a Marines Module. its not because it is RT now.... its not because the Bugs its not because i would not like the new engine (its great) It is the asymmetrical setup, it always feels like Playing with a 1945 PanzerGrenadier Btl with 5 KingTigers vs a 1941 Commonwealth Bn with only 2 Pounders as ATG it simply is boooring as Hell, there is no challenge in the setups, no matter how much Syrians u put in, they don't stand a chance. I wait for the first WWII Release, because this setup is Challenging and interesting.

  5. Hi, i currently working on a Scenario where Blue Forces Attack a Red Barracks where the Soldiers are unaware of the ongoing Attack. So i like the Vehicle Crews to be unmounded and the red Player needs to get them into Vehicle first to use em. Is there a Way to disembark Vehicle crews and place them somewhere else?
  6. Well first they Announced CMSF i thought "F**ck it up i dont get to buy this Piece of S**t... Damn Modern America Invading a 3rd Class Country with 4th Class Military....Bah" then after a quit long time i thought "Well maybee i buy it, not that i will have fun with it, but to support BFC so they can make also a WW Type CMX2 game....." Well then i buyed, and after the first hours of Patch Frustration (Have the Paradox CD Version with Version 1.0 what did run crappy, then recieved the Crappy 1.01 Patch where just a little thing was fault and made the game unplayable), but after the solve of all now i think "Damn what a Nice Game Real Time or WEGO booth are fine and the gameplay did realy enhance a LOT the Engine is great and i dont be sorry for a single cent i payed for this product" But i also think "Now BFC u had your fun with a Modern Warfare Simulation to Programm, ok gents the Funny time is over........get your a**es up and make me a WWII Game based on CMX2...hush hush !!!" Well and about TOW, well was a nice Candy between the "CMAK-Lunch" and "CMSF-Dinner", but didnt solve my need for the REAL thing.

  12. Paradox didnt Jump the Gun. Release Date is 27.07.2007 as far as i know, so the Local Stores put the Game in the Shelfes at 27.07.07 because they allready have it. not our German Fault that u Americans decide to live behind GMT...........
  13. Well since 07.27.07 11:00 GMT+2 the US Forces are Invading the Syrian Borders, but stuck in some issues they realy need the Aid of a Patch. So if 1.01 is ready, where is the Download? Would realy be nice to have it.......
  14. well the EPzSKfz 7 (Eisenpanzer-ScheissFahrzeug) is modelled wrong because the L48 Version hat allready a TissueHolter mountet left of the Ironscheisscoupula. Also the Mantlet has the shape of the later Dünnschissnebelkampffahrzeug 8 with the improved dreckschleuder 88/L71....... Tsk i am shocked u missed all these details so ein scheiss
  15. well i realy dont whant a IF Then AI Hard Scriptet, rather this should be a simple example of how the AI COULD decide not must. The Main Idea behind this all was that the AI gets some Help by the Scenario designers to what use the units for. So lets say Classes. As current the AI seems to handle a Mortar even to a Sturmgrenadiersquadron, and that produces sometimes realy odd outcomes when the AI is attacking. Also there could be a database for the AI with rough scriptet Tactics the AI can choose from, like leapfrog tactics, Armour First, or Armour covers infantry aproach Tactics, the could be written in a rough guideline form so the computer somehow slowly learns some principles of Warfare. Look at them not as a replacement of the current Global AI and TacAI rather then a 3rd component as a little Aiding piece. The goal should be that the AI acts a little more like a Human does and not so like a machine does. These things i mean are simple rules like - dont shoot AT Gun at every tank you see - instead be sure to have at least X % of kill probability - In defense hold cover and dont move unless you are allready spottet - when X % of units is killed in Spot X,Y re calculate route of advance etc etc there could be many of these for the AI do choose from. And i know that this task is not easy, but these Gentlemens from Battlefront have made allready a good job, why shouldnt we not trust them in doing the AI somehow better, but sometimes it is good when a friend comes to you and says some solutions to your problem wich you thought they may bad, but after he talked to you and you thought twice about it, and sometimes the results not the baddest. When you are working hard on a problem you sometimes get a tunneled view of things and a men outside can tell you other Points of view. Thats all i try to do with you here, tell Battlefront other possible points of view.
  16. to continue this fine Thread , i started this one for further discussions so here are my suggestions Small Steps to Improve the Generall AI behavior: - Selectable Unit Class (Support, Scout, etc) This are items for the Scenario designer to give the AI an idea for what to use the selectet Unit I.E. Support means not to move the unit (Mortar) up to the line where it recieves MG fire, instead the AI tries to keep this unit behind the Attack units in cover with good LOS in direction of the moving Friendly units and to use the Section HQ to spot while keeping the Mortar in cover etc. This way u could as a scenario designer also say the AI please use this Stuart Tank as a Scout unit for the other heavy Tanks also in this Scenario, would stop the frustration for me when i mowe down the billionst 3 inch Mortar team just 20m away from my trenches. - Sceanriodesigner given Waypoints and rules of conduct. Let the Scenario designer give the AI driven forces a general set of orders to use, I.E. Move Troops from company A over left or right flank while use Units from Hvy Weapons Platton stationary in the middle for support. The Scenario designer should NOT give exact Waypoints for every unit just MACROWAYPOINTS for AI troops (like big clumsy arrows) and the AI still uses its own allgorithms to move the units it self. For this we would need a tool to say the AI also these units are Section A,B,C,D etc (like with the setup zones now,the troops in the blue zone are Company A etc). Bigger Steps in AI Upgrading could be: - going away with the Victory-Flag orientation as it is now. Make it only count 30% for decision where to go for the AI, instead let the AI make a Landmap of the Battlefield with Enemy Heavy zones, small example: Map with 2 Elevations and Victoryflag behind, AI Units have Spottet on left hill an Enemy Heavy Tank, subroutine checks for own Equipment aviable to counter this monster: a) I have greater Monster and more of it to counter it --> Send my greater Monster to Eat the enemy Monster --> Problem solved I have no counter for this Monster, use way over right Elevation with best use of cover to avoid the enemy Monster -->problem solved (at least best i can do instead of letting all my toys get eaten be enemy Monster) So the AI needs some tool to recognize and categorise the enemy threads. Example B: 2 Hills left TigerII rigth 5 PzIIIG AI spotts them and counts (1 TigerII 350 pts, 5 PzIIG a 40pts make 200pts) so the option should be to try to knock out the 5 PzIIIG´s with his own appropiate untis (there comes the unit classes again from above in the post, where a unit class could also be "Can destroy light,medium or Heavy Tanks", so the AI stops sending worthless units to big monsters only to get eaten) What your thoughts about possibilitis to enhance the AI in simple but effective ways Greets Uedel

Similar to the follow command it would be also nice to have a "Formation" command for Tank Platoons, ala line, collum, vee, line abreast left etc etc, with the Tanks then automaticly choose the Turret Facing with SOP´s (I.E. 1st Tank face forward 2nd 45° to the left 3rd 45° to the right 4th secures the rear in a collum). It also would be nice to have "General Firing Rules" I.E. a ingame setting that allows you to set infantry vs infantry fire starts at 150meters (rules for your site only) counter fire if attacker is within 250 meters for example, this way you could have de facto firing arcs for all units at one setting, without haveing to set a cover for every unit...... (this was a possible setting in Talonsofts EastFront and it was a good option)
  18. Ok WinXP HOME here this was also my failure, i first mentioned it after i upgraded to new catalyst drivers, but didnt also play cmbb lot before for some reasons. i descriped my problem here My Message on this Board But this fix here helped me !!!
  19. i think large scale inf. Battles in WWII where more comon then the ones with Tanks. For me the fun of Games lies in the tactics of inf. battle, Tank battles anyes me, because 1 well placed 88 can rule the whole game, even so a good placed platoon of KVII´s in the early days. As for Tanks they are never well Balanced, there is allways a Hangover to on or the other side (most times are in favor Axis, because they usualy get the far better Tanks for a little value of more points, whereas the Allied Tanks all suck at range above 1km etc etc etc). But infantry is IMO well balanced and good for getting out who is the smarter player........

  21. id set up terrain with modest hills modest trees and village, and IMO that is a fine inf terrain offering lot of cover but also gives defender some "shooting ranges" for surpressing and covering andvancing troops (not only close quarter battles). 3000 points arent that huge imo, but if u like we can set it up to 1500 points also, but sorry i dont like heavy trees game, not for defender and not as attacker because it goes down to sneaking trough woods and get surprissed at 50 meters inside the woods what makes the MG´s and mortars etc useless.As the initial posting descriped i diskussed Infantry only battles. Tank Battles completly different topic imo. Thanks to all others here posting here i read it all and realy get some new ideas, how to aproach. From what i read the Typical infantry battle must be planned over more turns then maybe was usefull in CMBO ?
  22. when i say storm assault i mean the Type of Battle (I.E. Defense; Meeting Engagment, Attack, Assault etc the type of Battle) and not the Way i play it, or that i use the Inf. that way. I try to move under Cover Fire (but that isnt everytime possible) and under concealment. But even MG possitions 500-800 meters aside my advance break my units if they got to move more then 10 meters over open ground.
  23. I tryed meanwhile dozens of Games vs human opponents as an allied commander making an "Storm Assault" vs a German position. I played pure infantry, tryed everything possible but allways did fail. So HOW shall anyone ever win as allied commander playing a QB vs human with an Alliead Storm Assault ? Who did ever win and how ? And will there ever be cure from troops running out of cover to get slaughtered ? Is this Game simple broken ?

Hi, after installing DX 9 and the newest Radeaon Catalyst 3.0 Driver my screen stays black when returning to the game, it is not important if i do this manualy (Alt-Tab to look for my IP etc) or if i get to Desktop because of popping up Window. After all i got to restart CMBB complete because it doesnt do anything anymore. This happens only if the 3D world is loaded and displayed. Did uninstall Catalyst 3.0 and reinstalled Catalyst 2.5 but didnt help anyway (with Catalyst 2.5 and DX8 it worked pretty good to switch back and forward) Any ideas on a solution ? Thanx Uedel
