Heh, then the poor sap that buys it on Ebay will be on this forum asking "Hey guys, I purchased CM BB on Ebay, and it didn't come with a manual..." A neverending cycle.

Speaking of newbies... I'm just checking if I have that embarrassing title of "Junior Member" after all these years. Edit: Woohoo, I'm now a member... after almost three years :-/ [ May 25, 2002, 12:07 PM: Message edited by: von_M ]

OT- Need desperate help with PG2
von_M replied to Canuck's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Make sure you have "Wait for vsync" enabled in your video card tweaker utility or in your display properties. The location of the setting varies for each video card, so you'll have to look it up in your documentation. -
The main reason this was left out, AFAIK, is that it could lead to gamey uses of the abandon and re-man feature.

quote:
Originally posted by KwazyDog: Heya Guys, Tiger, as Matt suggest and as you guessed, no individual roadwheels as this point. I know it would be great to see, but it is one that will have to wait until processors catch up. To put it into perspecive lets say that an individual road wheel with just one face and eight sides would take up 22 polygons. Now, add 8 of to each side of a tank and youve added around 352 polygons to your vehicle, near doubling its poly count. They are of course ways around this that we will investigate for the CM rewrite, but no matter how you play with the figures you are still upping the polygons on screen, and you will still need a stronger processor to run it all. Anyways, Im sure there are going to be enough vehicles to fill your time up modding without having to do individual road wheels Dan

Panzer Commander had it Of course, the models are much simpler than those encountered in CM. It's not important at any rate, although it would make for some interesting situations (roadwheels counted as a seperate armour figure).

BTS, in CM2, will tanks be able to travel through woods?
von_M replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Hopefully with this post, I'll finally cast away the shackles of Junior Member class status! von Manstein, Junior Member for over one and a half years. Guess not. [ 04-25-2001: Message edited by: von_M ] -
BTS, in CM2, will tanks be able to travel through woods?
von_M replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)

quote:
Originally posted by David Aitken: BTS's response to the issue was that tanks could indeed move through woods, but not under battle conditions. It would take too long and be too risky.

Too risky? What's more risky than going into battle at a disadvantage? If moving through woods would enable your force of tanks to flank the enemy, wouldn't that be worth the risk? -
I have absolutely nothing to add to this discussion. Just the future name for CM2, and a request that BTS doesn't totally remove Russian arty as a threat in CM2.

History Television (Canada) Wittman Documentary
von_M replied to tailz's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
The Wittman Docu wasn't bad, but the Good Morning Mr. Hitler was better Having pre-WW2 German history in colour makes it much more real, almost creepy. I mean, it looks so recent  -
Do it. Just listening to the roar of the engines up close is worth $375 IMO. If you're a WW2 aviation nut, riding in a B17 is a must.

Having trouble seeing Tiger's new skies or other mods???
von_M replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Is the sky mod larger than 256x256? AFAIK Voodoo 2 & 3's don't support textures larger than 256x256, that could be the problem. -
Now that's an interesting comment. Some people want NKVD troops in the game to kill their own troops, others want tanks to be able to run over enemy troops and AT guns, and you're worried about a few dogs. That's just strange.

Standard (statistical) deviation? Been a long time since I've taken a stats course.
