1. I'm truly convinced now and i want to purchase, Steve. I just buy a G4 to play this game and I want it now Could you please help me with it? I don't have Credit Card or Bank account, so, how I can give you the money you deserve for the game? BTW, yesterday was a strange day. I just unpacked my new and connect to the net to d/l the Demo. It's a dream???? Ariel
2. Cuz the Gold Demo is done to convince all of us who don't ordered yet Ariel
3. I'm for The Thin Red Line too. Was refreshing see it just a week after SPR. Ariel
4. I see the Hellcats appearing in turn 11 in one PBEM against Free French. Ariel
5. The General Depuy argues in the same terms about the lack of firepower in GIs. Not only because training, but poor leadership also. The germans NCOs was shouting to their men all the time, making things happens. Instead, the USA soldier was left alone with his panic The germans was trained in suppressive fires also. Train that the GIs lacks. But in the german side most of the time the only effective fire was conducted by the MGs, which makes a 15% figure also. Sorry by the bad english. Ariel
6. If you press the "+" key, you go to the next unit. The reverse with the "-" key. I think the other feature yoy request was discussed a long time ago (wait for guachi links soon . I think that the casualty track feature could be a breach of FOW. Look at the hotkeys menu in the game. Ariel
7. Not in the Beta Demo Ariel
8. IIRC, there is a penalty in firepower for split units and your global moral decreases a little. The ambushes are considered an offensive maneouver in the actual field manuals of US Army Ariel
9. Some studies made in the 50s determined that for the combatant troops (not rear echelon) about the 10% was activelly involucred in fight, i.e, firing to enemy and maneouvering. The rest was hitting the ground and watching their asses. The only could prevent this behaviour is good leadership. In "Changing an Army", Gen. Depuy makes a revision of this topic in WWII and other conflicts. Ariel
10. CEO, you have readed the other posts in the thread? Ariel
11. Bryan, stop using the GM label to inspire fear in the people we will crush without mercy later Ariel
12. No offense taken, SS. Jon (if he is the JonS from NZ )knows that my mood is erratic, at least Thanks for clarify things, Jon. Ariel
13. SS: Could you let the Malvinas out of this discussion, please? I think the worst thing the english do was to make the jews who them had banned to reach Palestine to live in the recently vacated german death camps. Hey, they constructed a nice new one in Chipre to stack jewish women and childrens! I don't want to start arguing the racism issue in a language I can't use properly. This thread is becoming a Big BS Ariel [This message has been edited by argie (edited 03-21-2000).] [This message has been edited by argie (edited 03-21-2000).]
14. Hey, Fionn, reread the icee93 post. Seems like you missed by a whole hemisphere Ariel [This message has been edited by argie (edited 03-21-2000).]
15. CoolColJ said:
quote:
The German voices are very well done, I'll nick a few to use in the CM beta demo!

The game is german, man Ariel [This message has been edited by argie (edited 03-19-2000).]
16. Well, Trotsky was in the "action politic" side of the thing. The revolutionary theory, as every theory of war, starts in break the "normal" ethic rules. This is more pronounced in Trotsky's terms as is a war to change the very basis of the world ethics, as he conceived it. The subjacent philosophy, the good for all mankind, is another aspect. I'm only making a differentiation between politics and philosophy. I hope you haved a good hunting. The ciervos colorados are missing you Ariel
17. I agree with Hunter. Terrain, Visibility and Weather (the last two in close relation) have a huge impact in the possibilities to win a scenario. Maybe could be added some modifier to your "point factor modifier". You know, an attacker attacking through fog have an advantage. A defender defending in mountain terrain, have an advantage too. I think there are the only modifers objective enough to be considered that your system lacks. But I could think a lot more complicated if you wish Ariel [This message has been edited by argie (edited 03-19-2000).]
18. Only to differentiate philosophy from actual politics, Karl Marx said (sorry by the bad english translation): "an end pursued by unjust means, is an unjust end". He was referring to capitalists, of course. The "machiavelism" is a way to make politics that is not even close to the philosophy involved in the different ideologies. Mark IV said:
quote:
...by people whose philosophy states that the end justifies any means.

Ariel
19. I do a few screen captures with Corel Capture 7. Is a utility inside the Corel Draw package. Ariel
20. Nope. In the demo we were basically playing companies. The only scenario in which you roughly command a Bn is in Chance Encounter as german. Ariel [This message has been edited by argie (edited 03-16-2000).]
21. Ok, Goanna. The rulebook said: "... if Deathmaster 2000 is droped in a firefight, the entire Bn is render ineffective for 48hs. Plus another 3 hs for every 8 hours without sleep before the battle and the entire Div loss one level in experience". Then, and only then, the Deathmaster is coded in my copy of CM. Ariel ps: I hate your lack of understanding...
22. BTW, I'm from Argentina. NO leí la última parte de tu post ayer Ariel
23. I think was a 93 to 7 in Chance Encounter. I used to finish Last Defense by turn 10 with around 90-10. Obviously, against the AI. I used it to test tactics. Ariel
