1. Kiwi is right. Even some GMs don't have the game yet I think a first schedule to CMMC could be posted around end of July. Then, the players must receive their assignement and play with this forces a month or so to get used to his command. Then their must learn the Rules and Procedures for Staff Positions... Actually, the rules are being done at good pace. If you don't signed yet, e-mail Fionn and you could be best informed through the CMMC Mail List. Ariel
2. I'm not impliyng nothing with it... The only I'm saying is that before the WWII a lot of Jews want to reach Palestine, and the English want to impede it. They used the former concentration camps as lodgement for those Jews, who in their majority were dying previously right here. They even make another one in Chipre, with even worse salubrity conditions as being in a tropical zone. All the stuff explode in the Government face when a ship full of starved and battered Jews was deviate to a Spanish port or Gibraltar (the same thing in my book ) were some journalists pick the story. This happens circa 1947/8, when the English in Palestine were being heavily harassed by Jew and Arab Freedom Fighters The only I'm trying to said is that every one has his own prejudices, and no country is free from aberrant acts... And the British Empire is paramount in it. I know all this ugly stuff because, as Argentinian, I'm biased against the British Empire, which enforces my premise. Ariel
3. Madmatt is referring to "Animal Comfort". Aardvark Studios, the Nick Park's enterprise, had some others short films with the same techniques, all good. They have a site which link I don't have right now. Ariel [This message has been edited by argie (edited 06-25-2000).] [This message has been edited by argie (edited 06-25-2000).]
4. Stop right before. The closest to the wall, the better the cover. Don't put your men on the wall, unless you want to draw fire Ariel
5.
quote:
Originally posted by Manx: Haven't seen the film but it sounds good. Nick Park is a genius

Agreed,"The wrong trousers" is the best Ariel
6. Sorry, Rich. Do you know that after WWII the English uses the German concentration camps to "lodge" the Jews which were recently liberated, only to avoid them reach Palestine?... They even do a nice new camp in Chipre to erradicate the ones that already reach Palestine... Well, as argentinian, I could be a bit biased against England, but facts are facts. OTOH, I can't wait to have some Crocodiles in my little hands to toast some Nazis... Nobody is free from prejudice... Ariel
7. Archangel, you can't use "liberated" guys as combat forces again. They are Unarmed... The best thing to do with them is take them out from battle. Ariel
8. This is the most interesting thread I see in a long time. Good job, Bullethead! Ariel
9.
quote:
Originally posted by PeterNZer: Example: In south american, (Argentina), which i have visited recently, I was told 'make sure they know you're a New Zealander, because they hate Americans' .. well i didn't talk to Argentinians about this, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's true. And why not? Argentina saw US intervention topple several democratically elected governments in the region, and I can't recall exactly, but the US might have supported the various dictators Argentina has experienced to some degree. Can you blame them then? Of course, it is stupid to then dislike all Americans, but it is -understandable-. PeterNZ

As argentinian I must agree with some of your points. But the argentines don't feels hate against all the US americans, as we don't hates all the british, both countries which we could hate easily if you looks at our history. The Argentina's people is smart enough (at least the most) to differentiate between people and government. We are made from a mix of cultures and almost lacks our own culture as well , so, nobody feels hate face to face. The mob is another thing. As in every country in the world, when too much people joins and the hard feelings are exposed, is better not being a yankee, or british, or (put your favorite here) As in other countries, if you are polite and interested, the people treats you in a fine way. 11. All this issues could be simulated using the HQs bonuses as already exists... In the time frame covered by CM, the British troops are all Regular to Elite, but the Officers lacks initiative in relation with USA or German officers. So, make the HQs units Greens and without Bonuses to simulate this... OTOH, USA could be simulated with Green troops and Green HQs, but having good HQ bonuses. Same procedure could be applied to every case in which you feels the standard setup is wrong... Ariel
12. Sten, Bullethead is talking about a quick battle, I think. Bullethead, what about smoking your path? Ariel
13. I understand the John's post at first reading (maybe because I'm not english speaker and usually do a lot of misspelling ), but I disagree. I think the way the FOW is implemented simulates exactly the Intel the tactical unit CO have at end of battle. The type and composition of the force facing him only could be guesstimated through a high level Intel unit... That is, seeing what happens at the light of player's knowlodgement... Ariel
14. Maximus, what means "Blitkrieg" You know, you asked for it Ariel
15. Harold, the Cascavel (EE-9, IIRC), was Brazilian made, not French... Ariel
16. GhostOne, that feature means that the SQUAD MG or AT weapon could be remanned, that is BAR, LMGs or Panzerfaust in the Squad. That is represented as a probability to maintain the weapon in the squad if the gunner is killed. Nothing in common with the asked feature of remanning CREWED Weapons, as Mortars, Guns and the like. Congratulations. Ariel
17. I used to copy the data in Word and save it as Text without format and it works fine in my Mac. Be sure you are copying all the data in between the heading and the bottom line (both included). Ariel
18. Doug, the thing happens in the same PLAY of the file. I played it a few times, and suddenly, in one play the building stands... When I tried later with the same file, the building still stands... Then I received the file again from James, and the building collapses... Ariel
19. Try again with Fionn. He receives a lot of e-mails, so he could lost yours. Ariel
20. La la la la la lalala la la lala
21. Lee, I'll wait until Steve ask me for it. i don't want to bother him with something maybe is already fixed. Ariel
22. Well, when I send the turn to my opponent, the house was still here... Then we decided to play with the first result (i.e. the building collapsing), so he sent me again the former turn... This time I don't replayed the movie and the building collapses and everybody is happy now (except maybe 14 digital widows). Ariel
23. Right to the top Ariel in the search of the Captain Manieri Award
24. Thanks, James. That explains a lot... But seems like those little germans gonna be the ones dealing with making tools from rocks. I don't have B-52s, but the 05s are OK. Ariel
