  1. Dominik, You might be able to find most of the pre-Bolshevik city names in the Axis History Forums at the thread Russian Civil War maps. Great job! I like the WW1 artillery… yes those German helmets are a nice touch. Robert
  2. Hi Bill; How’s Sunday in England? Yes, I tried to amend the one I’m importing. But, the SC PT editor only allows odd number. Do you know if anyone has migrated their SC PT games to GC? Robert
  3. I followed Bill’s instructions on importing data from another version of SC to Global Conflict. I received this error: “Imported map size [40,25] does not match current map size [40,26].” So, the map does not import. In the GC editor I am unable to create a map size [40,25], it seems that the second number can only be even. What am I missing? Robert
  4. Ranson, Good question. Just change the files. There are four files in two different folders; In folder Campaigns/_1939 World At War/Bitmaps, these files: flag_sprites flag_sprites_mirrored military_flag_sprites In folder Campaigns/_1939 World At War/Interface, this file: flag_sprites Also, you can open each file in Microsoft’s Paint and edit the flags. Remember to save the default flags before you save over them. This is somewhat of a general answer, let me know if more detail is needed. Robert
  5. I am sure there are others that have created/used the Nazi flag mod. I know there is one in the 1938 Calm Before the Storm mod. Robert
  6. Hi, In my experience games of this scope are best played on a month or quarter schedule. But, 7 days is possible. Maybe with the larger map. Welcome to the game. I hope you don’t mind a couple of questions. How did you hear about it and what prompted you to buy it? Robert
  7. JP, Good ideas for speeding up the play. I am not engaged with this current WW1 project. I had been modifying a few unit bitmaps and sharing with Dominik (screen name Kowalewski). The project on this thread is Dominik’s. No need to start a new Russian Civil War project now, whenever the mood strikes is good with me. Robert
  8. JP, I loved the look of your Russian Civil War mod, but it was a bit of a resource hog. Maybe it will work better with the latest game engine. I would enjoy collaborating with you on a remake of the Russian Civil War. In fact I bought a copy of the Osprey version of the war. The Osprey version was bit slanted toward the Whites, I’ll have to pick up something from the library to get the Red point of view. Any ways, let me know if you are motivated to work on a new version with me. Robert
  9. --> 7 May 1947 It has been fun reading this thread - thanks for sharing. Robert
  10. I think there are a number of decisions the Japanese could have considered regarding the war in China & their boarder wars with the Soviets. Also, German decisions, and British and French reactions, could have been different when it came to alliances and annexations in Europe. How about a set of first turn DE’s that provide a different situation for the September 1939 start?
  11. Have you visited the Repository? I think there are number of mods that focus on Europe. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=select&id=33
  12. Try chaging the dates on the Victory Condition scripts.
  13. Here is an english translation using Google translate tool.
  14. Wow - that is not my experiance. Editor working fine for me.
  15. These are a few notes I have complied, it might be of interest…. 16. This is a good point. We have the Rockets built into the game, but they are not used much. How about we add two Rockets to the German PQ to arrive in the winter-spring of 1944? Robert
  17. LoL. So, your partner is stuck! In the US Navy Captains who run aground are investigated and relieved of Command. Watch out of the time of year and how close you are to the ice caps. Good feature, sounds like real life to me. IMHO, no bug; just a new Capitan. Robert
  18. Take a look at the Repository; there are a number of small mods… Robert
  19. Land battle are quite straight forward. And, Hubert’s AI handles ground combat and startegies very well, so little or no scriting is needed. It is mostly building a map and putting units on it.
  20. Yes! Go Brian, go! What WW2 battle most interests you?
  21. North Africa, D-Day and Bulge, like campaigns can all be created at the fraction of the time a full scale theater or front wide game could be. If you want to create your first mod, start with a battle at a smaller scale. Even if you are a veteran modder you can add depth to the smaller scaled games or build new and original ones. Robert
  22. Maybe I can answer a few of these from my perspective. The French not surrendering is interesting and not quite historical, but historically plausible; therefore to me this adds uncertainly and excitement and avoids routine. Yes, to make the UK stay away from Norway there has to be a game penalty; otherwise the RN sits off the coast and prevents a Norwegian invasion or U Boats escaping to the Atlantic. If you reverse the penalty, then the human player may have too much of an advantage. I think this adds playability to an Allied AI game. The China situation is slow going for the Japanese. The current design of East Asia provides the Japanese with a strategic choice: hold China & build a fleet, or build a larger army and take all of East Asia. Anyway, just my opinion. Robert
  23. I am happy that so many mods have been posted to the repository in a relatively short period of time. Yes, most are WWII Global types, but I appreciate these creations. We have only scratched the surface when it comes to campaign mods. Even if you stick to just WW2 battles you can design a whole lot of games. We don’t have to go bigger, why not smaller. I enjoyed the Division and Corps level games that were in SC 2 and WaW. I’ve made a few myself, and I enjoyed every minute of the research and design. Keep making mods! Robert
