  1. You have to go into the in-game options panel and select the ATI Left-lick Compatability option... Assuming you have a ATI video card. That option is not set by default since it only affects certain ATI cards and OS/Card combinations. Madmatt
  2. There is no real terrain distance drawing setting but you can adjust texture and model detail via the in-game options panel. Madmatt
  3. It sounds as if the patch didn't install properly. The "Version 102.brz" file should be inside the DATA folder. If it's not, please move it there along with the new hotkeys.txt (3k in size) file. Madmatt
  4. Okay, I have tested the patch from Gamersgate and while its certainly not as pretty as the installers I make, it does work as intended and should be considered "Official". I have added the Gamersgate link to my CMSF patch page. Madmatt
  5. Just to answer the main theme here, YES we are looking into the 8800 issue although technically the core problem actually resides in the nVidia drivers and affects more than just that one 88xx series of cards. Just like we worked around the bug with the ATI drivers we hope to do the same for nVidia. These nVidia fixes are planned to be in the forthcoming v1.03 patch. Madmatt
  6. We have just released to the various file mirrors an updated v1.02 Demo. We were able to also trim down the filesize a bit so its now only 276 megs. It still has the same two original battles as the older demo but incorporates all of the v1.02 specific fixes and improvements. A future demo (based on v1.03 or later) will include at least one new battle but that demo won't be out until the next patch is released. Madmatt
  7. Oh trust me, we talk all the time, but its usually along the lines of me yelling to them, "YOU DID WHAT?!?" The patch they (Paradox) posted is now the proper all-inclusive v1.02 patch. Now, the Gamersgate patch I have not yet been able to get my greedy little paws on. It SHOULD be okay, since they were already at v1.01 with their download version from the start but as stated above the entire European continent is on holiday so I couldn't get ahold of anyone at Gamersgate (which is really just the download department for Paradox) to send me the link so I could verify it. Madmatt
  8. Apparently they released a version to their customers but I havent been able to test it out to *verify* if its the right one or not and since they are all out of office for the weekend it might not be until Monday before I know for sure. If someone could email me (dont post it here) the link (support@battlefront.com) they have for the patch I can quickly check it out and let you know if its right or not. All Gamersgate downloads began as v1.01 already so the patch would be smaller than the Paradox version of the v1.02 patch. Madmatt
  9. By the way, if someone could send me a direct link (please do it in email not here) to the Gamersgate download I can quickly verify if its correct or not. Apparently all of Europe is on v vacation or something as I can't get anyone over there to send me the link! Email that link to me at support@battlefront.com and i will check it out. Madmatt
  10. Just wanted to let you guys know that the Paradox patch currently hosted IS now correct. The Gamersgate patch *should* be okay as well. Its smaller because all Gamersgate versions were already v1.01. I want to check it myself still before I say 100% that its okay but it might not be until Monday that I can get a version of it to look at. Madmatt
  11. You guys with thge Paradox version really need to contact Paradox support on this issue. Its related to their SecuROM protection system and they should be able to get you all sorted out. Here is a link to their support site and I will also inform our Paradox contact of this thread so they are aware of the issue. http://www.paradoxplaza.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=78&Itemid=181 Madmatt
  12. Yes you can, simply go back to the same download page you used before (the one from your email confirmation) and re-enter your license key. Here is the page: http://battlefront.elicense.com/download.asp This time try and use a download manager program (like DAP or GetRight). Also, make sure and turn off your anti-virus program before trying to run the install as that can sometimes cause this same issue. Madmatt
  13. I was expecting them to post the new *proper* 78 meg v1.02 patch today but I dont know why they haven't yet. They have it, I know I sent it to them.. If it doesnt go up by tomorrow I will just go ahead and release it to our regular file mirrors to post. The Gamersgate v1.02 should also be out shortly as they have the files too now. Madmatt
  14. Schrullenhaft, sorry to edit your message but that Paradox v1.02 patch still isn't quite right either. People should wait until its *officially* released tomorrow. Madmatt
  15. Well, as I said above, I wouldn't download their patch just yet BUT its core functionality is okay and it shouldnt have really affected your performance at all, in fact it should have increased it. Be sure and read through the included readme as it includes details on some added game options that might help. Madmatt
  16. Right now you can't, but I have asked the programer to add in this functionality as well as being able to map the numpad keys. Unfortunately, getting Charles to add this type of stuff is like pulling teeth sometimes. Madmatt
  17. No, dont use that patch yet. The one they posted is still not quite right. It was supposed to be an all inclusive one but the one thats up there now is still missing some scenario and campaign files that were recently updated. I have just spoken to them and they will be emailing all their customers early tomorrow and will have the correct full 78 meg v1.02 patch ready then. If you absolutely positively can't wait, AND you are already patched up with v1.01a, then you can download the one they have now (only 37 megs) but I would still recommend downloading the larger "proper" one tomorrow just to be sure you have everything all synched up. Madmatt
  18. I think it would be best to lock this post up before it spirals out of control. Eric Young has no affiliation with Battlefront.com or our games and we have no affiliation with his company or games. If you wish to ask a specific question about CMSF, please do so in a new post. Thanks! Madmatt
  19. An updated demo is being worked on and will be posted once its ready. It should have at least one new battle over the past demo plus all of the v1.02 based fixes/improvements. Madmatt
  20. Not sure what Paradox was thinking but that wasn't a complete patch in any way, shape or form. They have been sent the correct files to post the patch so hopefully they will get it right this time and get that out by tomorrow. Madmatt
  21. Actually, there is no Gamersgate patch yet. Not sure what the hell they posted earlier but it certainly wasn't complete or correct. I am hoping that the Paradox v1.02 patch and the Gamersgate v1.02 patches will be up sometime tomorrow but the delay is not on our part... Madmatt
  22. By the way, those DEP settings really shouldnt ever affect the demo. Thats usually related to elicense and elicense is not on the demo. Madmatt
  23. As the readme indicates, you only get that error if you patch a NON Battlefront.com version of the game with this Battlefront version patch, which wont work! Sounds like you will need the forthcoming Paradox or Gamersgate patch versions which should be out shortly. Madmatt
  24. Well the important thing is that you got it working. That file is much more tolerant of changes than it used to be so while your solution was more extreme than what *should* have been needed, we are pleased that it worked for you. I will be on the lookout for other people with simular issues all the same. Madmatt
  25. This patch wasn't really aimed at addressing issues with Nvidia cards or multi-core processors. Those improvements will be in future patches as mentioned in the v1.02 readme file. Madmatt
