There is a bug (that is fixed in the forthcoming v1.01 patch) that has some crews uniforms all messed up occasionally. You could be experiencing that issue. Madmatt

Rune, he isnt seeing the arrow buttons. Can you please list your system specs for us? Do you see any other screen corruption at all? In the Map Editor, do the down arrows work to let you see the other terrain tiles? Madmatt

Comment on Aircraft - Nice Job
Madmatt replied to Voxman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Actually it was a 60 gig IBM Drive that died. I had already submitted all my research for the Russian planes but what was lost was some incidental details on Hungarian, Italian and Romanian planes and some availability info on certain German aircraft. I am not sure if any of those other minor nation planes would have been added or not to be honest though. Airpower in Combat Mission has always been tertiary to the real focus of the game and thats fine. Don't forget, before Charles shackled himself to CM he had two other WWII aircraft games under his belt (Over the Reich and Achtung Spitfire) so he has plenty of data and knowledge to draw from. Incedentally, a month after I lost the data on that drive I had a second IBM 60 gig die on me as well. Long story short, I have since switched to another drive manufactorer. In both cases it was a physical fault with the drive mechanism and severe media damage. Madmatt -

Its an IL-2 actually. I am sure you will find a wealth of material on this plane on the internet. There are several varients in the game with various loadouts. Madmatt -

The TacOps 4 v4.03FG patch is now available for both Mac and PC versions. This patch corrects the following bugs in all versions of TacOps v4 prior to TacOps v4FG. Bug fix. Program would sometimes crash when a user attempted to create and place a bridge marker on the map by using the "Build Bridge" button in the Options/Engineering window. Bug fix. Program would sometimes crash if the user selected the "Orders/Set Engagement Range" menu item and then canceled the operation by touching a key or by clicking on an empty point on the map. Bug fix. Program sometimes drew a zero and a blank space at the beginning of a map place name tag. Madmatt [ September 27, 2002, 06:22 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]

Arty Spotter Question, bug or correct?
Madmatt replied to Clinton's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I tried to replicate this and was unable to. When I adjusted fire, I always got a added delay, even if I adjust a small amount. Can you send me a save file that shows this occuring. Are you able to replicate it? Madmatt -

The manual for the PC version was printed before we decided to go with a single file installer. It will be corrected in the next edition we print. In order to manually install from the CD you will need to use the program WINRAR and pick the files you wish to uncompress to your hard drive. Madmatt

Waffen SS uniforms and Unit Portraits
Madmatt replied to Michael Dorosh's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Unfortunately there are no plans currently to re-do those images in a patch, at least not the first one that I am aware of. Every time we have looked at how best to re-do the unit portraits the time and effort to do them all is simply not available to us. We first wanted to use color pics, like what we did in CMBO. After a lot of time was spent we found that we simply could not get good pics of all the units required. Then we looked to use re-enactors, but again we could not find enough source material. We then toyed with using in game screenshots, but the time to do it was simply not there and the results were sometimes a mixed bag. The current implementation was the best we could do with the resources and time we had. However, they are fully modable. Any takers? Madmatt -
We actually had it that way for a time but it ended up causing all sorts of nasty bugs and crashes so we had to put it back the way it is now... Madmatt
-
The bundle is only offered by us (Battlefront.com). CDV does not currently offer a bundle but they have been reducing the price of CMBO down to about 20 Euro in most of their markets. That would actually make it cheaper to buy CMBB and CMBO from CDV then to get the bundle from us (because we have to add shipping). You were able to buy direct from us before because at that time we did not have a distibution deal with CDV. We have had a deal with now for distribution of CMBO for over a year now with them and CMBB continues that same arrangement. Madmatt

28mm Heavy Anti-Tank Rifle?
Madmatt replied to von Lucke's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
'squeeze gun' ??? Taper Bore is the real term for it. Rheinmetall also worked on 42->29mm and a 75->55mm Taper-Bore guns. Ian Hogg's "Tank Killing" book has a nice section on them. Madmatt [ September 26, 2002, 09:09 AM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
