I signed up for the tournament , but noticed on matrix it states "steam account    not linked" am I ok to play ? Im on the list of players but wondering does that have any affect on anything?

It shouldn't. All the PBEM++ turns run through the game itself, regardless of whether you're using the Steam or Battlefront or Matrix version.

  3. Great news, folks. Charles has found the issue and is making a hotfix patch. Before posting it I want a couple of our beta testers to make sure it works but I think I will have sumfink today.

Once we make sure it works I will replace the patch on our patches page and post a link in this thread.

    Thank you for your patience.

Clicking the activate link or manually doing `open -n /Applications/CM\ Final\ Blitzkrieg/CM\ Final\ Blitzkrieg.app  --args -showui` does nothing, no window pops up.

Invoking the game on the same *.app works as expected, but of course it doesn't have Downfall activated.

We got a couple of Help Desk tickets today with sumfink like this and are working to figure out why. Right now we think it is a permissions issue.

It's part of the game when I have a rpg team hiding in a forest, which kills a vehicle, and then is subsequently gunned down by 10 bmps at the same time from across the map?

    Come on bro.

I've never been in the military but that's kind of exactly what I would expect to happen in the real world. RPG gets a kill and isn't postively spotted and all the fire power that has eyes on the suspected location open up on it? Sounds right to me.

Meh, artillery really is only an issue for mirrored matches. Area targeting a problem for all tournaments and regular multiplayer games.

Mirrored matches are all that we peddle in.

  6. 31 minutes ago, Artkin said:

You guys gotta remove the area target command for these tournaments. It ruins them.

We can't remove any of the UI but we changed the set up areas and have all offboard arty now a reinforcement. So you can't get pummeled turn 1 arty. So, the changes we did make should help mitigate some of the issues.

  7. Combat Mission: Final Blitzkrieg Tournament

The Tournament will begin February 5, 2024 and you can join now.

This Tournament will feature 3 rounds with 3 different scenarios.

Last Man Out- Remnants of 17th Armored Infantry Battalion attempt escape from Herrlisheim. Axis probe

Trouble with Siegfried- Forward US elements meet the Westwall. Allied attack.

Cutline to Grosshaw – Opposing infantry platoons clash during a fighting patrol into the Hurtgen Forrest. Meeting engagement

Before joining the tournament, please take a moment
and carefully read these instructions that are specific
    to all Combat Mission Tournaments!!!

    -         Please DO NOT join the tournament unless you can commit to playing about 1 turn a day and playing the tournament through to it's completion. Not doing those will ruin someone else's tournament.

    -          Because of the way that Combat Mission’s original “play by email” system works, both game
files have an in-game field for password protection of the file. This field should be left blank. For the
Allied side the password has been selected before the battles were sent and that field is to be
left blank. You can use a password for the Axis side but it isn’t needed because the Tournament
feature handles protection from cheating without using the in game system.

    - The Tournament will have you playing 2 individual battles where you are playing both sides of
the same battle. If you get into the game before your opponent, you will see 1 game turn to play. If
your opponent has gotten there first then you will see 2 turn files and each turn thereafter should
    have 2 files.

     - Once a tournament begins you will receive the files in the "Saved Game and PBEM"; drop menu
under Automated PBEM++ In Progress. You will receive email notifications when your opponent has
    sent you turns.

    - When logging in you MUST use the email address associated with your Martix account
    - You will need a Matrix user name and password to play any tournament (or PBEM++ battle). If you
don't have one already you can get one here:

    https://www.matrixgames.com/login

Sign up now either through the game or here:

  8. These are the instructions for redeeming your Battlefront license key for a Steam license key at no charge:

    Hi guys,

We’re very pleased to be working with Battlefront and know many of you are eagerly anticipating the release of Combat Mission. We wanted to give you some details on how things will work and both teams will do their best to make this process as painless as possible for you all to get your games working on Steam.

    ·        Steam keys will be available to anybody who purchased the game, no matter where they purchased. All users will get steam keys by creating an account with Matrix/Slitherine to redeem a steam key. The reason for this is Matrix already have a process to distribute the keys and Battlefront didn’t and it would have been a lot of work for them to create such as system so it felt simpler to use a system that already works. Sorry for the inconvenience of anyone who needs to create an account because of this.
    ·        Once you have an account you can redeem Steam keys in the normal way by following these instructions - https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=93585
    ·        Note that if you bought a bundle from Battlefront you will only have one serial for all the games in the bundle. To redeem all the pieces of your bundle as Steam keys you will need to register that serial for each part of the bundle. E.g. if you purchased the base game and Commonwealth bundle you would register that serial twice, once to the base game and once to the DLC. Each will generate a unique Steam key for that piece of content on Steam and must be redeemed on Steam separately.
    ·        When purchasing a bundle on Matrix/Slitherine you will receive a serial for each part separately.
    ·        The versions on Matrix, Battlefront and Steam are identical apart from some minor changes to make the game compatible with Steam. Steam requires all the game content to be in the install folder so the placement of some files will be different to the Battlefront version but this is all behind the scenes and the features are identical. Multiplayer is possible between versions.
    ·        Customers who buy from Matrix/Slitherine will have access to the Matrix installer and a Steam key. Customers who buy from Battlefront will have access to the Battlefront version and Steam key. Matrix/Slitherine customers will not have access to the Battlefront version and vice versa.
    ·        Any Steam key redemption issues should be reported to the Matrix forum, as Battlefront are not able to help with that.
    ·        Other tech support should be requested at your point of purchase but both companies will try and help out anyone who has an issue if they can. Obviously any order issues can only be investigated by the site you purchased from as neither company has access to that kind of info for the other.
    ·        If you have any questions or problems please let us know and we will do our best to help.
  9. We're very excited to present the Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg module : Downfall. Check out it's webpages for all of the details about this huge module. Downfall

As with other releases the content for Downfall is in a patch. Which means the v2.10 patch is also released. Use the Activate New Prodeucts utility and enter your Downfall license key to "unlock" it's content.

In addition to the Downfall module, the patch introduces Slitherine's PBEM++ and Tournament features to Final Blitzkrieg.

We really think everyone is going to love this new addition to the Combat Mission stable.

BFC has said it would release this week in a post buried in a thread from last week.  Slitherine owns Matrix.  Big wargames release on Matrix.  That's how they separate the brands.  BFC's official relationship is with Slitherine.

Matrix is already letting you register BFC-purchased Downfall serial numbers to get Steam registration so it should mean the release is very close, regardless of the date posted on Matrix.

    That's my understanding.

    Very close. Very very close

Yes Link is fixed but those 3  missing scenarios are not there anyway . This is unbelievable Battlefront haha

Are you sure? That is the file I used to get you the missing scenarios. I ran that installer then plucked out all scenarios out and sent them to you.

Just relax and it can and will be resolved, just reach out to BF.

There is nothing to be resolved. A thread was locked.

Intellectual property is probably the most sacred thing to us (and anyone that creates.....whether it's software or music or movies etc...). When there is even a hint that sumfink might not be right the red lights start flashing. I had a conversation with Frank a while ago about this and he told me he wasn't selling it. I believed him then and I believe him now. That said, the thread had things that could be confusing to people that haven't payed close attention to the project. The use of (certainly not trademarked) commonly used Battlefront phrases like "Pre-orders" and "Battle Pack",  and then someone giving instructions on a step to send payment can cause confusion. It meant the thread needed to be locked down. If you want proof that there can be confusion you don't have to look any further than @slippy's linked post above. Yesterday I got both a Help Desk ticket and a "Reported Content" post notfication about it.

That does not mean it can't be discussed. That doesn't mean that there can't be multiple threads talking about it. It doesn't mean it can't be hyped. There is nothing to be resolved because we haven't shut anything down but a thread. We love community made content. That's why we created such a powerful editor. We encourge it.

Hello, I recently opened a support ticket to restore an old account. I read here they sometimes recommend posting in the forums about this issue as well, so this is what I know: I have tried a couple times to follow the instructions to reset my password as instructed on the main news page with no luck, it says ‘Can not find specified username and email address in database’. I think the problem is that the log in is so old that at the time your username was also your email address unless you changed it, as indicated in the 2018 news post asking everyone to reset passwords. I have not found any evidence in my records that I manually changed my username to something other than my email address, which is still correct and active.

I just wanted to see if it was worth posting here in case Elvis or someone could help behind the scenes - I am trying to resolve this quickly so I can take advantage of the Battlefront sales before they end. If anyone wants my ticket number or relevant details please let me know here that you DMd me.

    Thank You for you help!

    Check your email. 🙂

Since I will eventually buy the game as well (as soon as I have an interest in the Russo-Afghanistan War again), wouldn't it be easier to just upload the affected scenarios in the download section?

That would be an idea. But the better idea is to find out why they are showing as corrupted files, fix it and but the fixed version link in. Which is what has been done. 🙂

Please submit $10 into @Mr.X PayPal account...PM him for email instructions 😉

WE always strong encourage user made content but it is 100% against the EULA to sell Battlefront content. HUGE no no.

I am locking down this thread. If it is discovered that Mr X is selling this then further action will be taken. We'd had a conversation a few months ago and he assured me that wan't the case.
