  1. von Shredded...Doesn't it seem like Rob1 is Captain Maneris brother or something. ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  2. OOPS!!!!! I mean June 19th. ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough." [This message has been edited by Elvis (edited 06-03-2000).]
  3. Jeff, I have an idea for you....have your copy sent to my home in the US. I hope to receive my copy before I go to Italy. I will bring my copy to Italy on June 29th, you can drive down and get it from me and by the time I get home your copy will have arrived at my house. Sound like a good idea? ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  4. Out of LOS would be your best cover. ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  5. von Shredded..What you are asking is probably built into the game but let me play devils advocate for a second...... There are people who post on this board who, if they were on the receiving end of what you are talking about, would scream that "there was a bug in the game: or that "it isn't realistic that 2 men could wipe out a whole squad". Cynic mode off ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  6. ...and about file sizes. I have seen files as small as 20k and as large as 410k. Seems to depend on how much action/orders/ect.. are contained in the turn being swapped.
  7. Archangel, Funny you should say that. We are flying into Venice instead of Rome (in fact we have no plans to go to Rome at all) so we will log at least a couple of nights there. I am not 100% familiar with the geography of Italy as far as Anzio and Monte Cassino go. The basic plan is Venice, somewhere in Umbria, somewhere in Tuscany and somewhere in Peidmont (yes wine is high on the list for this trip). I will check out those two areas. Hey, maybe I'll figure out a way to hook up with Lt. Bull too. Moriarty, I have promised 1/2 the scenerios to Peng for blind play and we are waiting to see the list when the game arrives to figure out which ones they will be. I recomend you and I try to play one where I am vastly outnumbered because from what Berli tells me you will need all the help you can get. ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  8. Along the same lines....I will be in Italy from 18 June to 28 June. If anyone on this board lives in Italy could you please email me. I would love to discuss "must see places". My wife and I are planning to do the same type of trip we took to France...ie. .Rent a car and drive with no set place to stay or visit. P.S. I would assume I have played some CM before I go. ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  9. Steve, Problems at the print shop?......Please feel free to send disc now...I can wait for the manual....Charge me triple shipping and handling if you want. ------------------ "Trying to be so bad is bad enough. Don't make me laugh by talking tough."
  10. Hey Major Tom, Why ya gotta bring me into this? (just kidding....I would smilies but Peng eat all of mine) It is kinda strange that Senor Gay*Lover hasn't posted any replys in a while. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  11. Hey what's this checks in the mail stuff...This is Philly man....I know someone who knows someone who knows someone who might be able to do me a favor......I'll give you a hint....."Nothing happens to Fredo while our mothers is still alive" ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  12. Interesting point Berli...with the exception of Steel Panthers (the 1st one). I don't think I have ever spent as much time on a computer game as I have on CM...Maybe Myst and Riven...I did spend tons of time on them...No bottom line time spent has to be CM. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  13. Ok...the Philly chapter is working out pretty good. We have our 1st member,Max, and he has already given me his $500.00 initiation fee and $200.00 first months dues...Anyone else? ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  14. I couldn't resit after seeing the other posts throwing one up here for Philly. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  15. OK...all this "was someone breaching FOW, was someone not breaching FOW" has been terribly entertaining (I'm just kidding of course) but aside from the site you have to pay for does anyone have an answer to the intial question? ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  16. Thanks Matt....I understand...just figured I'd ask in case there was some Word file sitting around that could be posted. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  17. Is the final list of names that are used in CM available anywhere? ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  18. argie, Max is right. Asking for the American OOB could mean he is looking to see what type of units he might have OR what units he may be going up against. I myself have been trying to find the same information. You can't throw a cat without hitting the German information but the American information has been very hard to come by. I see none of this as a breach of FOW from a couple different points of view. First, I would imagine a German soldier if told he was going into battle against a specific type of American battalion would have a decent idea of what that unit would contain (FOW kicks in when it turns out to not be the type of battalion that your intell officer told you it would be). Second, since the German OOB is so avialible and not considered a breach of FOW then the same sould hold true for all nationalities involed in th egae. Just my 37cents ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  19. For the record......I have said many times on this board how TCP/IP is THE thing I most look forward to on this game. And the option of putting a timer on the game is HIGH on my wish list. The setup phase is by far the most time consuming phase of the game and should be given special consideration.....but I gotta tell ya folks I will not be playing any of you folks who need an hour for setup or 30 minutes for each orders phase. Ya might as well play PBEM at that kind of pace. I played VoT the first time in about 2 1/2 hours (won pretty good too, German surrender) and that is the amount of time I anticipate playing a TCP/IP game in. When the game is going at that kind of speed is when the immersion and tension are at the highest for me. And from a realistic point of view, real soldiers in combat do not get to step back and plan the next minute of thier lives with as much time as some of you guys say you are using to plot. Wow...didn't mean the post to be this long. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  20. Yeah he is a piece of work. A hot steaming pile of wit. I think this happened last time I put this question out and I never got an answer then either. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  21. Now that hurts....I'm gonna take a minute and a deep breath and say to myself "he really didn't mean that"......... Peng is a loving and caring person and he would never say anything like that and mean it.....OK...I've taken my "moment" and I feel better now....Today is the first day of the rest of my life....I can't really love someone until I can learn to love myself. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  22. I don't think I ever heard a definite answer about whether operations can be played PBEM and hopefully TCP/IP? And don't tease me with the "I am pretty sure I heard"s. I'm hoping for a definite answer. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  23. Fionn, Your AARs are very detailed and fun to read. I read the Alpha one and the one currently being posted on CMHQ. I guess my question is, how long do you take to plot each turn? And doesn't it seem that a great deal of stratigic planning goes into each "minute" of combat you discuss? From posts you have made you always struck me as a player who plays intuitively. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
  24. I am in the middle of a PBEM game and I had some guys in a building when 2 Stugs opened up on it. My comment to the other player was "the recap in the beginning didn't mention you had Nukes!!" Talk about scary. The house was demolished in what looked like the top of mushroom explosion. ------------------ "Tryin to be so so bad is bad enough, don't make me laugh by talkin tough" EC
