Just a Little Something About FoW...
BFCElvis replied to von Lucke's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
If I remember correctly the reason so many German tanks are initially identified as Tigers is because most Allied troops as soon as they would glimpse or hear a tank they would think "Tiger." -

JOE SHAW!!!! I have finally found a reason to hate you properly. Your precious Cowgirls are going down hard tonight and I will be there to witness it first hand in what should be the official stadium of the cesspool...Veterans Stadium, Philadelphia, Pa. A true cesspool of a place. A place that threw snowballs at Santa Clause. At place that booed the home team when they were winning a game 32-3 one time. A very smelly place. -
The Vicar is right. The stress of going into battle knowing that not only do you lose all the units that are lost in battle but failure to acomplish your objective could effect many many more people than just your ego. And Toad there is something I forgot to tell you in my long winded email..the battles are not designed to be balanced. If you send a battallion to an area that the other sends a company into then somebody is out numbered.

I've never had anyone completely bail out on me in a TCP/IP game but while reading these posts it occured to me that maybe he lost his Internet connection. This used to happen a lot with me when playing dial-up. I always had an AIM or some such instant messae device so we could go right back in. If you met through the opponant finder and did not have any instant message action going he might not have been able to get back in. Did you use the "autosave" and tryto reset it up in case he was trying to get back in? Just a thought.

MrsSpkr, check out the PBEM helper thread. I will not go on about numbering files again today (that doesn't mean I won't sometime soon) but one of the reasons most people give me for numbering files is to keep track of whose turn it is. So it boggles my pea brain that someone uses a PBEM helper that requires you to number turns.....Maybe it's just me that thinks the world has gone to hell in hand basket..but I don't think so. -
Some PBEM helper improvements

Fuerte, I am playing a guy now who uses a PBEM helper..I don't know if he uses yours. He tells me if I don't number turns then he can't use his PBEM helper. Is this true with yours? -
How many beers did Lawyerboy buy? Just curious how many told him what a great player he is.

Do you track your CM stats?
BFCElvis replied to Herr Kruger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Loraks cesspool site has win/lose records for pooligans but aside from that I can't imagine keeping track of units lost and thins of that sort. http://www.geocities.com/lrmcgarvey/cesspool.html -
I have DSL at home but so many people have my AOL address that I kept it. I get my AOL for free and it worth every penny.

Hiram,I had already consulted with Peter about the possibility of meeting up. I didn't know he was going to be in NY for that long though. I am all for making our lives easier but putting him on a train and dragging him down here..maybe even to watch an Eagles games. If not it never takes much persuading for me to go to NYC. And yes I would be happy to buy beers but I will insist n the same conditions as Lawyer is. PeterNZ is exempt from the groveling because I owe him beers from when he sent them to me online and he already knows about my CM prowess. -

OH...and did I ever mention that I find numbering of turns to be both annoying and unnecessary. (damn what did I eat for breakfast) -

Will Seanachai ever write a post that isn't so long so that I might read it. I have no idea if he is witty or nice or an idiot. If someone could provide me with Cliff Notes that would be swell. -

MrSpkr, I call you out. I have not received a file from Wildman in a ver long time and just sent a ruber match file off to Lawyer. These are my only active games right now and I am ready for another. So without any further ado............ MrSkr..you sir are a cad. And a swine. I have chunks of guys like you in my stool. Send me a set up file NOW. I demand it! I have neither the time nor the inclination to set one up. So obey me and take your best shot at the person with the most wins in the 'pool. But remember my rule about numbering. Send me a turn that is numbered and you will never see a reply. -
