Tsk, amateur. My "Yes it does." was an exact and coherent 10 characters, which was very observantly observed by Other Means (him big brained fella) who returned a calculated "Nicely done". A new forum sport is born.

I'm baffled at the new restrictions, did I miss some huge problems with the way it used to be? -

You ***** **** ******* ***, I will ****** in the **** till you are ****ing sore. Mother*****ers thinks he can ******ing do ******* what he likes. Well ****** to that. You ***** *** ********ing! Hey, you are right Moon. Strangely liberating. But seriously, how else can you justify pruning away the idiots that drop by occasionally, if you can't bust them on foul language because it's censored? Also, Bush will be leaving office. How ever will we say our goodbyes with the censor *-ing every 2nd word? Oh, and only three images allowed? Tsk! Being properly angryolized takes up three by itself! -

Oh, and might I say: *****=female dog Ass=donkey Cock=male chicken 2/3, not as bad as I thought. But I really would like the ability to swear back in full, as I regard it a completely valid form of communication. -

I just noticed my alleged join date: Dec 2007 Really? It seems longer. I think it was June 2003, if it can be changed. Dec 2007 was when the beta testers did that you-know-what at that thingy. Not all testers seem to have been affected. -

I thought that thread was lost to us anyway. Though as I recall someone had screens of The Best Thread Ever. -
All Your General Discussions Belong To Us??
Elmar Bijlsma replied to Speedy's topic in General Discussion Forum
Define "if it gets too annoying". Do you mean: A) The feature gets annoying. Us moaning about that feature gets annoying. If it's B, you might want to flick that switch now. You should know us lot by now. -

Never mind. I had the forum opened from inside the whole BFC website thingie. Viewing the forum in it's pure form, sans the website, everything is okay. This includes filling the entire page from left to right. Smilies still so-so at best, though. *edit* Just had to say two things: Found out the solution prior to seeing Moons message. And that I am using FF3, like a sentient being. -

Oh, is the scrolling in the forum weird for anyone else? I thought it was some glitch at first but it persists and only on the BFC pages. If I use my mouse wheel to scroll up or down it goes a page up or down in a really jarring way. It won't even allow me to press the mousewheel to travel up or down. Other vBulletins don't do this, and I really wish this one didn't either. -
Might as well start. A)The old forum filled my entire screen from left to right, the new doesn't. B)Some of the smilies are decidedly average. The 'Angry' and 'Roll Eyes' ones are poor, I feel. And did the '? smiley' always make the text jump down a bit? C)... I'll think of something later. Or just make something up.

btw, I see the User CP checks to see if you are human now. Seanachai will not be pleased.

Then again, 26.000 posts from Michael Dorosh went down the crapper too. Feeling better yet?

Where's my Z folder?
Elmar Bijlsma replied to Splinty's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
I don't think there is a Z folder until you create one yourself. If you haven't done so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't show up. -
Who chooses the opponents?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Indeed, the AI is barred from playing a side with assault boats in it, as it doesn't know how to use them*. If you play the side with the assault boats the side without can be played by the AI. *Or trucks or other unarmed vehicles. The AI is allowed to have those, it just won't use them. -
Thomm, it's a direct quote from Erik Young in a rather interesting discussion a few years back where Erik came across rather *ahem* mercenary to the detriment of product and customer. Can't find the thread, but had you read it I am confident you would not have objected to Moon's comment.

I'm putting my money on hill forts. That someone built a castle on top of it sure seems to point that way. a good location for bronze age man to construct a simple hill fort is typically a good place to build a full blown crusader castle. Or somefink.

Stryker and M1 machinegun misbehavior
Elmar Bijlsma replied to c3k's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I reckon a thread about failures to communicate is likely to result in a failure to communicate. While it might do some good to hear each others viewpoints on the issue and perhaps clear the air I predict a blame game that's going to get ugly. So I'm not going to voice an opinion on the value of such a thread one way or the other. Oh, and on the 24hr response by Steve: Your thread time stamp: 15 April, 2008 18:11 Steve's first reply: 16 April, 2008 18:31 This is, indeed, not within 24 hours. You got me. But if you are going to argue those 20 minutes I'll rename the fly buzzing my living room C3K and roll up a newspaper. Hey now, are you talking down to me?   My €0.02 on this thread is that when presented with the reasoning behind the behaviour as modelled you didn't really acknowledge it. You pretty much went straight to re-stating your case based on what you believed are the functions of weapons and crew, seemingly ignoring or downplaying the gameplay arguments in favour of why it is the way it is. As since to us this was the crux of the issue you thus got the repeat explanation of the earlier why and wherefore. Do that a few times and people are bound to get testy on both sides. It may be good to start a thread on how and why we communicate, because this reminded me that we aren't all here on quest to piss people off. It's good to be reminded of that amid some of the acrimony here. But I fear human nature being what it is we will all piss off and get pissed off anyway. -
Quick Battle broken for me suddenly
Elmar Bijlsma replied to SlapHappy's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Gunz, I don't know what to say. Not much detail I can get in to due to NDA. That sounds lame, but I think this thread is a good example why the NDA is in place. It may have seemed in our public exploring of this issue we somehow tried to blame you guys, or the scenario designers or deny there's a problem. That was not the intention at all. Just tried to unravel the mystery by thinking aloud. I can tell you that this is being taken seriously, there certainly is an issue of some kind. Try as I might, I can't reproduce it, others can. And yes, I'm using the official game with an ordinary patch. Not a whiff of anything non standard. No wool is being pulled. -

c3k, in future you may also wish to consider using gmail for sending CMSF savegames/turns. It's limit is 20mb per mail which I never managed to exceed.
