  1. I've been following the armour actions in Daraya with interest. So much so I thought I'd recreate the tactical challenges of running armour into a built up area held by irregular fighters. Here are a few screenshots to give a flavour of what the scenario looks like:
  2. Thanks to Mr Jensen for playing the scenario and for your feedback. There are three AI Plans and one of them is a bit easier to play against than the others or you are really 'Der Mensch' I've not managed a clean victory yet and keep losing Wittman and all his team!
  3. This is the new thread for Wittmann's Demise. There is an extensive thread on that covers different opinions on what actually happened in this action at the following thread And the original thread (with comments etc) is here
  4. Yup all seperate downloads - it's a lot of mods! http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2447
  5. Hi Erwin - Euroscape uses a lot of the Syrope mods but packages everything into one lot. There is a separate thread about that on the CMSF forum: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=106745&highlight=euroscape
  6. How to do it from the CMSF forum: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=82035
  7. I made a boo boo updating the file which deleted the original scenario post (with feedback, ratings etc). End result is Martin at BFC kindly resurrected the original scenario post. I have just uploaded the updated file. It should be available latter today. Meanwhile you can grab it at the following dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gfdbyg6sk5jznqz/HW-zCDGUpf Cheery!
  8. Nothing to see or download here - my upload error has been fixed thanks to Martin at BFC. Updated file should be available at the original link http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=107507
  9. Oh poo. I uploaded a modified scenario file (wee minor issue with one terrain objective incorrectly labelled)and made a bit of a blunder with forgetting to keep the file description name the same. So the repository goes and creates a new thread link and deletes all the feedback posted and the ratings. Double feckin' poo!!! The original thread is here - any comments etc could we please keep them to this thread- http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=107507 Many Thanks!
  10. Yup the NY are on the map - British left flank - around St Aignan and the surrounding orchards. His book though includes eye witness accounts of the fighting (often overlooked with the desire to focus on Wittmann's and the Canuks and Ekins involvement in his demise!) in the ravine which was pretty horrendous as they faced around 20 odd German PzIVs and SPs (possible even some panthers) plus a battalion of attacking German panzergrenadiers . Overall this was a large scale German attack that lasted for the best part of the day. Cheery!
  11. Hi Bill Thanks for the fine words of praise I'm pretty chuffed to hear people are enjoying this one as I think it was one of the toughest I've made yet. Getting the map done as best I could given the editor/game constraints was a toughie. This was done before the map overlay thingy was introduced so effectively done by eye and hand and lot's and lot's of scaled of aerial photos and maps. I reckon I now own every book and DVD about this action. The fighting in the woods around Cramesnil is generally overshadowed by Wittmann's team being nailed in the open field. However the fighting in the woods and ravine was vicious involving close up tank and infantry fighting. I'm looking forward to an AAR Good luck to you both and keep me posted. Cheery!
  12. Glad you are all enjoying it @Umlaut - oops that Gaumesnil objective is a wee error. It's an Allied objective and the box is ticked 'known to both' rather than known to player. I've just fixed it and will upload the wee tweaked version to the repository. No biggie though as you don't get points for it either way. I'm planning bigger
  13. The AI does not have an advantage but the defender does. Yup clearing built up areas/woodland is expensive for the attacker as the nature of the terrain (close up ambush) will always favour the defender - mopping up is a misnomer I feel for what is a close up and often bloody business. To reduce your casualty count have you tried hosing down buildings etc with fire (either direct or indirect) before sending your grunts in to get up close and personal. As far as practically possible I do this. It saves casualties. Scenario designers can help reduce this 'unfair' effect by having smaller objective zones - although often having a larger objective zone may well be a scenario design choice i.e. the attacker has to clear and secure objectives, as often has to happen in RL. You don't want stay behinds popping up and taking our your supply echelons or re-establishing defensive positions behind your lines eh?
  14. Just a suggestion - maybe try it out first in game, may have saved you typing time If you did you'd see the game places a waypoint which you can then move. You can also have the same effect by placing a 'fast' command to anywhere you want.
  15. Both - it's basically just an automatic 'fast' command. Never actually used it myself as given my superior generalship my guys bug out with plenty of time, or die gloriously in their positions...
  16. Hi Macisle If I recall you'll have to save em as PNG files. Then just click the edit button and update images, browse and select then upload. Simples
  17. Circle the Wagons would also look nice with this - as would Just Another Day and Going to Town - all done with Iraq in mind.
  18. Jealousy is not an attractive emotion Michael Cheery!
