All of your CMAK Demo and Pre-Order are belong to us....
rune replied to Madmatt's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
*Sniff* Why thank ye Dalem, but it is NOT exactly the same as the AAR one. The AAR version WILL be on the CD and it does play a little differently. Rune -
So is Deadly88 the over all winner? If so, Deadly, please contact me, I will make arrangements for the Band of Borthers CDs or a copy of CMAK. Rune

Where is that stiff upper lip? There are several beta testers and players in the UK that I am sure would be happy to burn a CD for you. Any volunteers to help him out? American and Germans in the demo. We wanted to keep the demo size at a reasonable level. Rune -

**In the darkness of the cesspool, in a ignored corner, once again a trap door opens, and a figure emerges, carrying the famed scroll of NDA. **The figure approaches the podium, and once more, rune speaks upon the Pengish masses... "Where is the vile? Where is the hate? What has the hippy turned this to, the Cheery Waffle?" **The crowd reacts violently, and Bauhaus restores order. "This shall NOT do on this day of days. What next, are we to have Berli, Dalem, Joebob, and Mace sing 'All we need is love?'" **Once more the members of the pool react violently. Bauhaus threathens not to sit down, and order is restored.... "As the junior evil of the Peng thread [ Berli made me the western marketing manager for evil], I have no choice but to hoist a rune scenario on all of you. It will feature explody things, crunchies, more explody things, more crunchies, at guns, more explody things AND.... The Desert!!!!!" **A hush falls over the Peng masses.... "You brought this upon yourselves. You may hang Dalem if you like..." **As the crowd chase the shocked Dalem, the figure retreats to the trap door, disappears down it, and the door slams shuts and locks.... Rune

While working on new evilnesses for CMAK, i hatched a brillant, yet evil thought.... I can send a copy of the CMAK demo to anyone in the Goodale thread who promises to post here and not there for a period of one year. This means they would have it before it was released to the General public. Think about this, I can kill off the Goodale thread, AND piss off Joe Shaw and Seanachai at the same time! Not to mention continuing to anger the pod person himself Peng , by keeping this thread alive for at least another year. However, I would have to have Berli get their signatures in blood on a contract of Berli's choosing. Tempting...very very tempting..... Rune -
I have pictures from inside a Sherman, through the vision ports. You cannot see much. So, stay buttoned would work till the first time a squad got the drop on a tank and destroyed it, then the howling and wailing would begin. Tank commander is one of the most adngerous jobs there is. The tank commander could be shot, or he could go about the countryside blind. Either way, will not change for CMAK. Rune

Oh, and for the record, both Winecape and I are both Soccer Referees... He is in the South Africa, and I in the US. Rune
-
Jon, I did a long search for finding any history on the South Africans. I finally got someplace when I got to www.militarymuseum.co.za as they were very helpful. Winecape MAY know of more sites, but the people there wee very helpful. Also, here is a list of helpful books: http://stonebooks.com/archives/960105.shtml As you k now, the Battle of Sidi Rezeg is owned by me and was a rare catch, but a most excellent book on the subject. I also have one of Nafziger's books that cover the South Africans at a higher level. If interested, I will dig it out and give you the information on the regiments. Rune
-
Oh, and as a PS. A Big Thank You to the South African National Military Museum for their help with the to&e and weapons information they helped me get. They are credited in thank you section of the manual. Rune
-
The South Africans are indeed in the game, and are featured in fighting both at Sidi Rezegh and in the Po Valley. You can look for Winecape in one of the scenarios. Rune

No, it is a single tile with the building surrounded by pavement, just place another next to it, and voila, instant small streets. No Shantys, no multiple small buildings. Rune
-
Correct. The scroll of NDA will not allow anyone to state that there is a new terrain type of buildings, that allow for smaller streets. Nope, you won't find out about it at all. Rune
