By the way: I would not mind if CMx2 had miniguns in it!

So, Delor, does: "(I was a !!) Tank-Hunter in the Austrian Army, although i am NOT Austrian!" mean that you are not an Austrian citizen, and yet you had to serve in the Austrian army?!? Puzzled, Thomm

My humble guess is that it is a proven setting that relies a lot on infantry (just to show off the new 1:1 model): My suggestion: "Market / Garden" Has a lot of drama also! Best regards, Thomm

Thanks for the comforting clarification!! Best regards, Thomm

Personally, I would have preferred that the game does not go down the "Balkan" route especially since there seems to be no direct connection to historical events there. But maybe I am biased against the setting only because as an Austrian, that conflict was a tad bit too close for my taste! Best regards, Thomm

Even more ranting in praise of the Cold War for CMX2 :)

Same here. I've never used it and have not the slightest intention of ever using it. Just a different style of play.</font> -
Battlefront has got a nice visual benchmark to meet

You know what the irony is: after 5 minutes I switch off the trees anyway, regardless whether I play CC, EYSA or CM. Best regards, Thomm -

Yes, but can you think of a scenario that could actually fulfill these criteria?! Maybe something with cowboys and indians, or WW I? I guess that even with only Panzer IVs and Shermans you will be able to enjoy the new engine given the promised features. Best regards, Thomm -
Thanks for the interesting movies! One question though: would it be possible to let the dust settle more slowly after a building is hit?! It takes only seconds for the air to become completely clear again. I guess it would no choke the CPU too much to let the smoke hang around a little bit longer?! Best regards, Thomm

... assuming that CMx2 will be related to WW2 in any way, I forgot to add! Best regards, Thomm

Here I sit with the latest "PC Games" magazine. I find a whole load of WW2 related games: These are coming-up RTS games related to WWII: Codename: Panzers: Phase Two War Leaders Warfront Rush for Berlin Officers 1944: Winterschlacht in den Ardennen Company of Heroes These are coming-up FPS games related to WWII: Call of Duty 2 Day of Defeat Source Brothers in Arms - Add On Commandos Strike Force ... With the mainstream gamers being drawn into WW2 games like this a well-placed CMx2 demo should bring in a rich "harvest"! Best regards, Thomm

Excellent shading! Best regards, Thomm -
What?! Only "Würger" exists. There is no German word like "Wueger". You may spell it "Wuerger" *if* you do not have the possibility of using Umlaute. Best regards, Thomm

This is missing the point! Representing every man is a (very welcome) feature of the new engine, but I doubt that the behavior of - say - a German soldier of same physique and experience will differ from 1939 to 1945. Andreas' examples are more valid ones. Best regards, Thomm -

All good and well, but in what respect should the detail of CMx2 surpass the level of detail ALREADY in CMx1?! Number of polygons per tank?! Armor thickness per plate?! Hmmm. Cannot think of anything else right off my head. As I read it now you guys are getting enthusiastic about getting LESS material (tanks, armies, regions, ...) than before and while I can certainly understand and accept the position of BF I fail to understand why customers should be too happy about it *unless* it affects the price of the games, of course, but there is no indication for that so far?!?!. Best regards, Thomm -

I am going to put a candle in the window tonight: Herr Hofbauer has posted after over a year of absence!!! Now I have hope again ... Best regards, Thomm -
Great! Linear levels!

There is a small valley (Wadi) in the center of the map that lets you approach the allied sector under great protection! You have to go to a low view level to detect it! Best regards, Thomm

There is more proof to that: -
Correction: the number of targets is the same (9), but their spatial density is now half as high as before.

(1) Possibly, If there is a minimum of 5 windows, assuming that one window provides space for 2 soldiers max. (2) Depends on the type of the wall and whether they are shooting themselves. (3) No. Reduced firepower, obviously. (4) No, they stay on the same floor. (5) No. They would the need the same number of windows, therefore the same volume of suppressive fire.

By the way: was being appointed the position of point man a death verdict in war?
