  1. Actually, this as a sub-set of full API/documentation is not bad idea.
  2. Can I jump up and shout "Look at me!" for a second again? It might look OK if after a certain amount of time, due to experience and terrain etc, the infantry started to "sink" into the terrain a little with a concomitant decrease in chance to hit, to show they're taking cover? Have them sink in various degrees to show the distribution of cover within the tile and it might get the point over quite well, IMHO.
  3. I wonder what it would look like if the soldiers "sank" a little into the ground when lying down, to show that they've found cover you can't see. Might look crap, might get the point over. I agree though that accuracy feels high to me, especially when someone's shooting back.
  4. I'd guess an API for CM is (a) unworkable and ( undesirable from BFC's viewpoint. You could lobby for greater scripting control, even external script files for certain triggers, but an API - I can't see it.
  5. I saw "Tank restoration" about an M18 - damn it was fast, even for today it's fast. Looked damn fun.
  6. ...and now I'm seeing the bomb scene from "Dark Star" in my head. "Come on Javelin, how do you KNOW it's a tank?" "Let there be light."
  7. Don't they have some sort of self destruct mechanism? Don't tell me Star Trek has lied to me all this time.
  8. Round go bang. Round go into slit go bang in bunker. Bang in bunker bad for business.
  9. It's pretty good though. I d/l it to my laptop and read it in snatches when I was on a long train journey. I'd bet it's required reading in certain barracks.
  10. I'll echo the welcome. What I've found most important in urban battles is there is usually one building that's on a slight angle to the street, so you can dominate the crossroads from it. Two of them plus the high ground and you can divide up into sectors, define them with MG's and move the bulk of your force as a sweep. Support weapons in enfilade and firepower firepower firepower. Now I understand those youtube vids of Iraq where buildings are completely saturated with fire.
  11. Pish and tosh. You don't have to use tracer, you could push your flak into a copse of trees and use timed ammo. Sure there's very little gap twixt shutter and wall but that's what the high ROF is for.
  12. But the PBEM files are not impossibly big, are they? I think it is more that the last-in-first-out nature of the necessary buffer is difficult to program! Best regards, Thomm </font>
  13. Yes this is the best tip. However, some have suggested in the past that a light gun might be a little too good at this task to the point of cheating. </font>

  15. I think it could be done reasonably easily if you were OK with it being a massive RAM hog.
  16. I think you should be able to Q2 with "pause" and "dismount" orders on the waypoint. I'm guessing that the Stryker wouldn't try to drive off with half the squad not out.
  17. Light flak guns are good for taking them out, as they can get a lot of slit penetrations due to high ROF and can't be spotted in return.
