  1. Can someone do an AAR of this one - looks fun. I can host images if needed.
  2. The blast etc can be seen at Folkes excellent site. Do you mean this one?
  3. VT. It's worth the extra money as the airbursts remove the cover provided by the trenches. I know what you mean about the dispersion of the larger shells. Hopefully in CMx2 you can order a shell density to stop the default dispersion. I can't think why it's in except to avoid wasting ammo on already dead units. I don't think larger guns are more inaccurate.
  4. Can I have the "power outlet" mod? Otherwise that baby is becoming a rain catcher. Or possible a signalling device.
  5. Thanks for the link. It worked just fine for me. Sincerely, Ken </font>
  6. Speaking of plugs, many thanks to voidhawk for his plug of my scenario "Counterattack at Petrano," which is available at the Scenario Depot and has proved highly popular. The way I managed it (and there are no spoilers here--this is conveyed in the briefings) was to create a situation in which, at the outset, the German position is all but taken. But there are enough defensive assets so the Allies can barely get set before a strong counterattack sets in. There are many, many ways to play the battle once the Axis reinforcements arrive. I meant to create an edifying tactical exercise and instead (especially as a PBEM) created a wild and wooly, unpredictable see-saw conflict. Which I guess is what the combatants on both sides frequently experienced with German counterattacks. I'm mentioning all this because I think the principle could work for scenario designers in other counter-attack settings--give the Germans barely enough assets to hold the flag positions for a few turns--positing that the initial fight for the position is all but over--then send in strong Axis reinforcements timed to arrived shortly after the Allies are likely to have taken the position. </font>
  7. Kingfish, my mate Nils (Europa) makes excellent maps. Would you be interested is seeing some for scenarios? I've asked him & he said it was ok for them to be used.
  8. May I have a copy please? othermeans at blueyonder co uk If you have no success with the scenario depot, I can host it temporarily.
  9. WN, I'm not a ROW vet but wouldn't mind playing that (or any other) scenario with you. E-mail me if interested. Bil </font>
  10. I would agree that the German doctrine was at an operational level & therefore outside the scope of CM. Breakthroughs should be kilometres past the MLR before getting countered. This really isn't possible in CM. OTOH, in CM I've found as a defender it's better to keep a thin screen to repel and attack with a large countering reserve. The screen causes very high proportionate damage. If the attacker is then hit with large arty & countered it seems to be very successful.
  11. But but...if that's what you're telling us to do... ...Daisy daisy give me your answer do.
  12. Make sure your PC can handle the increased load as some of the bitmaps are a lot bigger than those on the disk. If it's a newer one it shouldn't make any difference really. The one mod I can't do without is gridded/height differentiated terrain. They help you see the lay of the land better. All the others are eye candy - and my eyes for one are grateful.
  13. If an open topped AFV is moving down, say, a road & will pass close to a patch of trees, it's worth area firing the edge of the trees to get an airburst to take out the TC, or even force abandonment. Whether the abandonment is because the TC is killed (I've had a sniper force an abandonment of a Panther ) or it's to simulate more damage I don't know.
  14. Now there's a sig line going hanging. I also throw my weight behind the Glorious Soviet Uterus. Definitely the "Best equipment". The GSU shall rule!
  15. IMHO, one of the best things about snipers is their effect on your opponent. As soon as they here that retort anywhere near the AFV's they button them & keep them buttoned. And if not - even better.
  16. Tell me where I can get cmak for $35 canadian dollars and I'll buy it. A canadian well pay well over $70 canadian dollars to buy the game from battlefront, with the difference in the exchange rate, shipping, then there is very likely that damn GST tax that I haven't even considered yet. And I for one I'm not paying that kind of money for any bloody game. </font>
  17. Excellent! Another brilliant tool. Thanks folke.
