Unlike some of you guys, I haven't played CMSF in years and forgot how vastly different things are now at Engine 4 vs. (effectively) Engine 0. Sure, sure, sure... intellectually I know the differences and can rattle off longer lists that pretty much anybody. However, knowing the differences and experiencing them are two entirely different things. Which, I guess, should be the case after 10 years of improvements added all at once Some of the stuff that slowed down the release was all the non-core game stuff that we changed over time. In particular every single Briefing had to be redone, not only to reflect play balance changes but also because the Briefing setup in CMSF1 is dramatically different. Well worth the effort!
