pcelt
I am presuming that if all mods are contained within Z folder there is no need to remove this folder from the game folder before patching . But with no past experience of this method of patching I would just welcome confirmation, Thanks
BigJ62
FWIW patching worked fine for me without removing the z folder.
finalcut
On the other hand,I had a complete Nightmare going on after I patched, and nothing worked. The game wouldn't even fire up for me.I did a complete wipe,re installed version 1.00 from my disc, patched it,then started to re install all 10 thousand mods and lost 3 PBEM games in progress,soI hope you have better luck then I did.
Chops
It is always recommended to remove any mods, disable anti-virus software, and complete any saved games before patching.
patboy
I removed "Z" folder after three tries to patch 1.0 to 1.01 and it works properly now! I reinstall "Z" folder and all it's ok!
mjkerner
Hmmm, I didn't have any problems patching without removing mods (although they do recommend it). All mods seem to be working. I got lucky?
Marco Bergman
Mods that change strings.txt will always cause problems if that file changes in the patch. The obvious example for this patch is Vincent Monaco's animated text mod, which will fail until a new version is released.
Scratchy
I removed (copied somewhere else) the Z folder before updating. Good boy, ain't I? Anyway, created the Z folder again and replaced the mods I was using one by one--they seem to be working fine. That's my experience fwiw.
Erwin
I just moved the Z folder to desktop, installed patch, moved Z folder back. Seems ok.
