GerryCMBB
Hello: Just with the Demo still but I assume it's the same in the game. Playing Road to Berlin and had a MG team close to the gap near the farmhouse. I wanted them to move a bit farther forward and to the right so they may have LOS to the crossroads. However, they moved across the gap and half are now dead as a doornail. What am I doing wrong? Do you have to zoom in a lot to be able to pinpoint a location. I read somewhere about an 8 x 8m tile. But that is probably the size of the gap. Anyway to get them to move a smidgin? Thanks in advance, Gerry
aka_tom_w
Each tile is 8m x 8m so there may be an issue there with action spot or tile limitations.
Battlefront.com
When you point the cursor you will see it color the Action Spot underneath. The soldiers will make the best use of the cover they find there. Using a FACE Command can help them make even better use of the cover in some circumstances. NOTE -> There's a bug with certain times of day (direct sun condition) that make the highlight colors near invisible (crept in at the last minute), but that will be fixed for v1.01. GreenAsJade
YAYAY for the good news about fixing the invisible action spot! It's such a damn shame that it's the Tutorial that appears to be the most affected! I was so happy when I started a different scenario and suddenly I could see what was going on...
Peregrine
The best way to micromanage your guys is to be playing in realtime. You give your order to where you want them to go, it needs to be a little further than the "ideal" spot you had in mind. Watch them move and when they get to your "ideal" spot you "cancel" their orders. Everyone in the squad will stop dead and will shuffle around according to what the TAC AI thinks is the right thing to do (ie crawl into a crater for cover etc). I find myself doing the above mostly when managing troops in urban environments (unchecked they tend to over-expose themselves) and sneaking tanks up to ridgelines when seeking the perfect hulldown position.
hoolaman
Even better is to fire up a scenario in the editor and deploy troops into all sorts of situations with different face orders to see how they deploy. You can warp them instanly so it is a quick way to get a feel for it.
